Chapter 48 Take Nathan With You
Neil looked at Kendall with a pleading expression.
Kendall was a bit surprised by the situation. She had just asked Nathan to come out to play, and he had been out for less than two minutes.
Now, she would have to tell him to go back... With a regular person, this would be fine, but doing this to Nathan felt a bit like bullying a child.
Kendall looked at Nathan and was about to speak when Nathan first reached out and grabbed the corner of Kendall's clothing. He was concise, "Play."
He was much taller than Kendall, easily a full head above her. People with long legs and a tall stature also had larger hands. The corner of Kendall's thin garment was clutched in his hand, which felt like he was holding a doll's dress.
Neil had previously learned from Victoria that his younger brother would speak when facing Kendall, but knowing it was one thing, hearing it with his own ears was quite another!
It had been so long since he had heard his brother speak!
Neil's gaze toward Kendall immediately changed.
Neil stepped forward, suddenly pulled out his phone, and said seriously, "Kendall, could I add your number to my contacts?"
As a famous business genius in Orapolis, heaven knows how many people wished they could latch onto Neil and gain access to his connections.
Kendall had heard Jake sigh more than once when she was at the Hansen family, complaining that the Sinclair family was too low-key and never gave out their contact information, leaving no way even to send gifts...
How long had it been since she left the Hansen family, and yet she was becoming closer and closer with the Sinclair family.
Kendall took out her phone and added Neil's contact information.
The second the friendship request was accepted, a large sum of money appeared as a transfer in the chat window. The string of zeros made Kendall's pupils constrict.
Having used the power of money, Neil politely inquired, "Could I ask you to look after Nathan for a while? This is the request fee."
Kendall was speechless.
Only a fool would refuse money, who in the world would turn down cash?
Three minutes later, Kendall and Nathan stood in the parking lot, watching Neil drive away in his Mercedes-Benz.
As the car drove off into the distance, Kendall brought her attention back and focused on Nathan. Looking at him like he was a gold-making machine, she asked cheerfully, "Young master, where do you want to play?"
Seeing Kendall's attention was back on him, Nathan didn't release his grip on the corner of her clothing. He pursed his lips, looking a little shy.
However, he clearly couldn't answer Kendall's question. Nathan didn't pay attention to the outside world, and he had only left the house a handful of times since he was a child. His understanding of the outside world was likely worse than that of an elementary school student.
Kendall had actually anticipated this, so she hadn't really expected Nathan to lead the way. Kendall thought for two seconds, then looked down at Nathan's flat stomach. "Are you hungry? Come on, let's go. I'll take you out!"
She had received a million dollars in from his older brother, she couldn't possibly fail to make him happy.
Kendall left Oakhaven University with Nathan.
Nathan was exceptionally obedient, following closely by Kendall's side.
His gaze was constantly directed downward, falling upon Kendall's fluffy head. The corners of his lips were slightly turned up, and anyone could see the joyful mood radiating from his face.
If the Sinclair family were here, they would be astonished. Heaven knows how long it had been since they last saw such a relaxed and happy expression on Nathan's face!
After leaving the Oakhaven University gate, Kendall made a point of observing Nathan's expression and emotions. She had heard from Victoria that Nathan rarely left the house, sometimes not even once for several months, let alone interacting with strangers.
Now, she and Nathan were standing right outside the gate, constantly seeing people of all sorts on the road, and she was unsure if Nathan would feel resistant.
Kendall waited patiently with Nathan by the university gate for a while and found that Nathan didn't show any signs of resistance.
He didn't even spare a sidelong glance for the passersby, his eyes merely fixed on her with a bright, innocent, and moist look, much like a young wolf pup Kendall had briefly encountered in her childhood.
Kendall's heart softened. She didn't get in the car but led Nathan to walk down the street.
