Chapter 80 Childhood Sweethearts

Unlike the other guests who were playing by the seaside, Kendall walked in the opposite direction, carrying her hiking backpack to a spot under the trees a few dozen meters away.

This island was rich in resources, and the program team had also mentioned that they had previously placed a lot of chickens, ducks, and geese here for the guests to catch and eat.

Before going out, Kendall had tied up her naturally wavy hair in a high ponytail, revealing her beautiful forehead.

Her face was makeup-free, with clean, fair skin and a slender neck.

With her lips lightly pursed and her thick, dark lashes blinking, she revealed a pair of cool, calm dark eyes.

Her gaze meticulously scanned everything around her, like a queen returning after a long absence to patrol her territory.

user @UnapologeticallyHonest: "Holy cow, holy cow! Kendall's eyes! They're absolutely stunning!"

user @KindHeart: "She's seriously so cool!!!"

user @MakeMeNoodles: "Her figure is great, Slurp! She must be a fitness enthusiast."

user @NoRegrets: "Aren't you all disgusting? You're fans of someone like this?"

user @MiaLove: "Your morals follow her face, is that it? Ugh!"

user @ProudlyUnemployed: "People who are fans of scum Kendall must be crazy! Can't you rub your eyes and take a good look!"

user @PeaceMaker: "Stop arguing, stop arguing! Why all the noise! Just watch the live stream, okay!"

The comments were noisy.

Kendall placed her backpack on the ground under the shade and sat down, leaning against it. The other guests, tired of playing, also walked over in succession.

In an outdoor environment, no one was too particular. They just looked for the cleanest spot to sit. Even Sophia pursed her lips and reluctantly sat under a tree. Only Mia stood beside them, her expression hesitant.

Jasper knew what she was hesitating about. He proactively took out a clean piece of clothing from his backpack and spread it on the ground next to him, saying gently, "Mia, come and sit down."

Mia immediately smiled sweetly. "Thank you, Jasper." She then sat down on the laid-out clothing next to Jasper.

user @KingDaniel: "Huh? What's that about?"

user @ElijahNumberOne: "Being so precious in the wilderness? Princess syndrome?"

user @MiaDefender: "Excuse me! Who are you calling names! Our Mia grew up pampered with fine clothes and food, a true wealthy young lady! Of course, she's a bit more particular!"

user @MiaIsTheBest: "How is this being precious? Every time I sit on steps, I have to put a book under my butt. Our Mia just likes cleanliness."

user @InfiniteLoveToMia: "Besides, our Mia didn't even ask for it. Her fiancé felt bad for her and proactively gave her his clothes to sit on. Are you so jealous of their affection?"

user @MiaCanStepOnMe: "I bet the people badmouthing our Mia are paid trolls hired by scum Kendall."

Mia's fans were extremely combative, like protective mother hens. As soon as there was any unfavourable rumour about their idol, they would immediately attack it collectively, extinguishing all the small sparks completely.

The group sat in a line, in twos and threes, not far from each other. Kendall sat on the far left, followed by the fellow civilian, Henry, then Sophia and Daniel. Further down were Liam, Mia, and Jasper, and finally Ezra and Elijah.

The atmosphere was a bit awkward with everyone sitting together without talking. Seeing Jasper proactively lay out clothes for Mia, Sophia's lively eyes looked over, a little envious. "Mia, your relationship is so good!"

"Of course." Hearing this, Mia wore a happy and shy expression. She also deliberately glanced at Kendall, who was sitting under the tree with her eyes closed as if sleeping, and intentionally spoke loudly. "Jasper and I have known each other for many years."

"Wow? How many years is that? Childhood sweethearts?" Sophia immediately put on a gossipy expression, and the other uninformed guests also turned to look at the pair. With no electronic devices, everyone was bored sitting around, so chatting might make the time pass faster.

"Yes," Mia pursed her lips, looking up at Jasper a little shyly.

"My family, the Reed family, and the Hansen family are business partners. Our fathers knew each other from that generation. I often went to the Hansen family to play with Liam and the others when I was little, so I've known Mia since childhood," Jasper interjected.

His handsome, outstanding face also held an indulgent smile. He looked down at Mia, and their eyes met. They both saw the affection for each other in their eyes. At this moment, pink bubbles seemed to appear, and they looked exactly like a couple in the throes of first love.

"That kind of childhood sweetheart love is so wonderful," Sophia blinked, looking extremely envious. She had seen some gossip about Mia online before, knowing that Mia had a childhood sweetheart fiancé from a very good family.

Seeing Jasper today, Sophia realized how excellent Mia's fiancé was.

Not only was he tall and good-looking, but having been born into a wealthy family, he was well-informed and had an extraordinary aura, undoubtedly a man of exceptional quality.

More importantly, he was also very attentive to Mia and not at all macho, which was the most charming part.

user @MiaIsTheBest: "So sweet, ahhh, I'm dead!"

user @MiaRedHeart: "Mia's fiancé really spoils her!"

user @LovesickGirl: "Woowoo, I'd give up forty pounds of my body weight for a good man like this!"

user @OnlyThinkingAboutMia: "Who gets to date good men like this? Oh, it's the beautiful and kind Mia. No problem then, she deserves it."

Listening to Sophia's praise, Mia couldn't suppress the joy in her heart. Her gaze kept falling on Kendall on the other side, but Kendall remained still, eyes closed, leaning against the tree as if asleep, showing no reaction to her comments. This made Mia frustrated.

The conversation topic didn't stay on Mia and Jasper. Sophia was good at livening up the atmosphere. Seeing that everyone was starting to look bored, she curiously asked everyone why they came to participate in the show.

She started first. "The reason I came to participate is that I grew up watching this show when I was little, so I have a childhood filter for it. Coming here counts as fulfilling a childhood wish."

"That's great," Daniel praised, raising his hands to clap softly. With Daniel leading, the others also started clapping.

Sophia smiled and turned to look at Daniel beside her. "Daniel, your turn. Why did you come to this show?"

user @AuntieIsSleeping: "Ahhh, I suddenly feel like Daniel and Sophia are also a bit shippable."

user @SerialNovelist: "Mature and gentle uncle X obedient and innocent sweetie?"

user @LoveChocolate: "Ship, ship, ship!"

user @DanielMyLove: "Stop pairing them randomly! Ezra was helping Sophia carry her suitcase just now!"

user @SophiaDefender: "Our Sophia is only twenty-one years old, no starting up ships!"

While the comments were passionately arguing, Daniel had already finished stating his reason for joining the show. He had just finished filming a movie and was currently in a break period. Coupled with the program team's invitation, he decided to come.

After Daniel finished, Liam, who was sitting next to him, proactively spoke without Sophia even having to ask. "I came to participate in this show entirely because of Mia. She asked me to come, so I came."

Jasper followed up, "Me too."

Mia, sitting between the two, felt as if she was surrounded by happiness, saying words of thanks while unable to resist glancing at Kendall. However, despite all their talking, Kendall remained motionless, showing no reaction, which left Mia feeling a bit stifled.

After everyone had given their reasons for joining the show, only Kendall remained. But Kendall was still leaning against the tree with her eyes closed, so no one disturbed her, tacitly pretending she wasn't there.

Time gradually passed. Although the white noise of the waves was comforting, sitting for a long time inevitably became boring. Liam checked his watch and frowned slightly. "It's been two hours already. What's going on with the program team? Why haven't they come back?"

"Even if the director and his team don't have time to come, the cameramen who are supposed to film and record us should at least be here, right?

!" Ezra couldn't help but stand up, his gaze sweeping the distant horizon, but the vast ocean was empty.

Forget the yacht, he didn't even see any passing boats.

Sophia looked horrified, having thought of something. "Could it be that they went too late and didn't manage to save the other staff members?"

"Regardless of whether they were saved or not, they should at least send a team over to notify us!" Liam said, sounding a bit angry.

"Looking at the map the program team gave us, the area of this island isn't that large," Elijah pulled out the map and pointed to it.

"Our current location is here, and the safe house is there.

.. The accident happened to the staff on their way back.

If I'm not mistaken, they should have been entering and leaving the island from this direction.

It's been two hours since director Sean and his team rushed over from here to rescue them. Shouldn't that be enough time?"

"Not necessarily. We don't know the exact location where the program team's staff yacht broke," Daniel leaned in.

When it came to serious matters, everyone's expressions turned grave.

They had previously thought that no matter how big or small the accident was, it had nothing to do with them.

After all, they weren't in charge of the program team.

Regardless of whether the show could continue recording, director Sean would send someone to pick them up.

But if director Sean was too busy and forgot to send someone to pick them up, that would be a huge problem!

"They wouldn't forget us here, would they?" Mia bit her lip, worried. "Could it be that director Sean and his team haven't found the yacht yet?"

Ezra quickly countered her. "Whether they found them or not, he shouldn't leave us here for a full two hours without contact!"

The expressions on everyone's faces gradually grew solemn.

"Let's not overthink it. Let's just wait patiently for now," Daniel closed his eyes, reassuring everyone.

"If director Sean and his team still haven't found the other program team yacht, between continuing the search and returning to see us, he will definitely choose the former. After all, human lives are at stake."

Mia was getting scared. For some reason, she suddenly felt the wind blowing from the sea becoming chilly. "What should we do now then? Should we just sit here and keep waiting?"

Daniel nodded. "For now, waiting in place is the best method."

user @KingDaniel: "Oh no!! Don't wait!! The program team isn't coming back!"

user @MyWifeSophia: "Ahhh, hurry up and get supplies, or the afternoon will be over."

user @EzraCanStepOnMe: "I'm watching and getting anxious. Why don't they realize that the program team is playing a prank on them?"

user @UnapologeticallyHonest: "These people are so stupid. They're seriously analyzing, and their conclusion is the opposite of reality. Celebrities are nothing special."

user @SensibleElder: "Don't say that. We have the omniscient perspective, which is why we know the truth. Who would have expected the program team to break the rules? Who would have thought there was such a thing as a VR watch? Did you know before today?"

user @MiaIsTheBest: "Their reaction is completely normal, and their analysis is indeed logical. It's just the program team acting like jerks."

Just as everyone was arguing loudly, a few large words suddenly appeared on the screen.

[There will be a heavy rainstorm in two hours.]
