Chapter 83 Rainstorm Reckoning

Earlier, when Henry yelled from the large rock hill towards Daniel, Mia, and the others, the distance was too great. Although the group didn't clearly hear what he was shouting, they did hear his voice.

Sophia spoke up at the time, "What is that civilian guy shouting?" She only knew Henry was a civilian and hadn't remembered his name.

Daniel listened carefully for a moment. "I'm not sure. It sounds like he's telling us to come over?"

Ezra speculated with malice, "The rock hill is so high. Could Kendall have fallen off?"

The expressions of the group changed. It wasn't impossible. However, if they suspected that, it would look terrible if they didn't go rescue Kendall. But if they did go, they weren't professionals... and they didn't have any rescue tools.

Liam closed his eyes, completely impatient, "There's no way she fell. Henry didn't fall, so how could she? You haven't seen her when she fights. She's more agile than a monkey and stronger than an elephant."

The other guests: "???"

'Do you even hear yourself?'

Even Jasper turned his head to look at Liam twice.

Conversely, Mia, sitting next to Liam, spoke up, seemingly having thought of something. "That's right... Kendall has such good physical skills, and she grew up in the mountains. She should be more familiar with this kind of place than any of us."

"Ah? Grew up in the mountains?" Sophia raised her hand and scratched her hair. "So, the rumour online that Kendall stayed at your house before is true?"

"Yes." Mia nodded. "Kendall only came to my house after she was accepted into a university in Orapolis. However... she didn't get along with us very well and moved out a while ago."

At first listen, what Mia said sounded like the truth, even Liam and Jasper felt she was being honest. But in reality, she blurred her answer, deliberately allowing Sophia to misunderstand the deeper meaning.

For example, the truth about the switch between the real and fake young ladies, why Kendall was unhappy in the Hansen family, and how Kendall wasn't dependent on them, but returned the bank card Diana had given her, untouched, and even added an extra 200,000 for accommodation and food expenses, Mia omitted these crucial details.

Not only did the other guests present misunderstand Kendall as the ungrateful wretch the internet described, but even the viewers watching this live stream, after hearing Mia's two sentences, became convinced that Kendall was exactly as the negative rumours suggested, a person with terrible character!

Everyone sat in place and chatted. No one got up, let alone moved to where Kendall and Henry were.

user @MiaCanDoNoWrong: "Ahhhhh, Mia finally admitted to the bad things scum Kendall did!"

user @MiaIsTheBest: "Before, in front of the camera, our Mia was considerate of their past relationship, not only telling fans not to bother Kendall but even defending her several times. Now that there are no cameras, our Mia finally spoke the truth! That shameless bitch, Kendall!"

user @HeartEyes: "Sure enough, the rumours online were all true! Kendall coveted Mia's fiancé, even hit Mia and her family, and was kicked out of the Hansen family a while ago!"

user @MiaNumberOneFan: "Mia is truly so kind. She hasn't said one bad word about Kendall, even now. If it were me, I wouldn't have been able to hold back. I could list a truckload of bad things about Kendall."

user @EzraCanStepOnMe: "Ahhhhh, I'm so mad! Looking at the eyes of Ezra and Daniel, they are clearly pitying Mia."

user @PeachBlossom: "I understand everyone's anger, but hey, it's about to rain! Are they seriously not going to take cover?"

user @CoolUncle: "Ahhh, stop chatting! Haven't they noticed how much the tide has come up!"

Amid the audience's desperate pleas, the few people originally sitting on the shore finally realized that the sky was darkening, and the program team's luxury yacht hadn't appeared. Instead, the night was drawing in, and the wind blowing from the sea was getting colder and colder.

Mia couldn't help but rub her arms. "It's getting so dark. What should we do?"

Sophia also wrapped her arms around her small self. "I feel a little cold. It's not really going to rain, is it?"

In fact, the dark clouds had already begun to drift over. But the sky was also growing dark, which was why they didn't realize it immediately.

Daniel looked up seriously at the sky overhead. His expression suddenly changed. He had a premonition that it really might rain tonight. However, he was the one who had told everyone to stay put and wait. How could he possibly be the one to tell the others now that it might rain tonight?

Daniel withdrew his gaze, picked up his backpack, and said naturally, "The program team may have been delayed on the way. Let's just set up our tents first to get through tonight. Maybe the program team will arrive first thing tomorrow morning."

Ezra gritted his teeth. "Right. The reason they haven't come to find us today might be because the other staff members haven't been found, and the director, in his anxiety, forgot about us. But first thing tomorrow morning, they should remember we exist!"

With the director still absent and the sky about to be completely dark, what else could they do but listen to Daniel? If they didn't set up tents, they might not make it through the night.

The others silently nodded and went to grab their backpacks as well.

They didn't want to go to Kendall's location, nor did they plan to go anywhere else.

Seeing that the spot where they had been sitting was relatively flat, they felt it was suitable for setting up a tent and immediately started unboxing.

user @KingDaniel: "Ahhh? Wait, are you setting up tents on this sand?"

user @DoNotDisturb: "Holy cow, this is sand! It's so soft! Do you think this is a children's playhouse?!"

user @AppleSeed: "This won't work! It's too close to the sea. When the heavy rain comes, the tide will rise and wash away the tents and the people inside!"

user @TopCommentor: "They're actually hammering the tent stakes into the sand... Why don't you hammer them into your own heads, seriously!"

user @SensitiveTeen: "This is terrifying! Thank goodness this is virtual reality. Otherwise, this would be a major accident! They are taking their lives too lightly. Will they all log off on the very first night?"

user @SophiaCanStepOnMe: "Hey, hey, hey, everyone, don't be so harsh!"

user @EzraIsSoKind: "Ezra and Daniel are celebrities. They usually have managers and assistants with them. Even if they get thirsty, an assistant brings them water. They don't have to do anything themselves, so it's normal for them not to know these things."

user @MiaLove: "Exactly. Our Mia has been a rich young lady since she was small. This is probably the most tedious and difficult day she has ever had."

The comments were endless, but they did not affect the actions of the guests on the screen in the slightest.

Elijah set up his tent next to Ezra. When pushing the stake into the soft, fine sand, he hesitated. "The sand is so soft. Can this tent be secured?"

"It should be fine," Ezra glanced at it dismissively. "We're sleeping inside the tent. With our body weight of over a hundred pounds, surely we can hold down a tent?"

The audience: "..."

Jasper also said, "It is a bit soft, it doesn't seem to provide much grip.

Everyone should try to pitch the tents closer to the forest where the soil is firm.

" However, there was too much wild grass, and the vegetation and trees were very dense, so the nearby forest wasn't suitable for setting up tents.

"Mm-hmm," Daniel nodded, moving his tent to the very edge. "Let's make do today, and we'll find a new spot tomorrow."

user @TeaIsSoHot: "Honestly, I don't know how their brains work."

user @TiredOfLife: "I'm defeated. The problem was brought up, and yet no one thought it through. Sigh."

user @RainDrop: "Fear not the opponent who's a pig, but the teammate who is a pig."

user @BoilingWater: "Hahaha, am I the only one who really wants to see the miserable sight of them, people and tents included, getting washed away by the water?"

user @LOL: "Sister! I... me too... but I'm afraid of being attacked by the fans, so I don't dare say it, haha."

The guests finally managed to set up their tents before night fully fell. Mia and Sophia couldn't pitch tents, so the other men helped. After everyone said goodnight, they all climbed into their respective tents.

The camera zoomed out. The seven small tents on the beach looked so insignificant and pitiful against the backdrop of the raging waves rolling in from the dark sea nearby.

Conversely, the two very sturdy small tents that had occupied the high ground on the hillside felt much safer.

As soon as the two-hour mark passed after the program team announced the rain, the sky indeed began to drizzle.

user @DancingMachine: "Hahahaha, here it comes, here comes the part I've been waiting for."

user @JustHereForFun: "Checking in! I made it just in time! I'm not late, am I?"

user @UnapologeticallyHonest: "Oh, it's a bit of a shame. As soon as these guests entered the tents, the camera function seemed to disappear. Otherwise, I really want to see their expressions when they find themselves and their tents being washed away by the water."

user @BlackDress: "Hahaha, how wicked."

Mia huddled inside her tent. After entering, she discovered the tent was full of mosquitoes and tiny, unknown insects, which were biting her and making her body itch. Mia burst into tears on the spot.

She finally managed to borrow mosquito repellent from Sophia, but Mia still felt uncomfortable.

The environment here was terrible, her stomach was empty, and she hadn't removed her makeup or taken a shower.

Mia gripped the blanket in her hand and bit her lip.

Once the program team arrived tomorrow, she would immediately quit the show!

She was going home, she wouldn't record anymore! This was no place for a human to stay!

She wondered how Kendall was doing, if she had really fallen off the large rock hill and died. That shouldn't be possible, if she had died, the civilian guy with her would have surely run back to report it.

With no one around, in the dark, Mia no longer restrained her expression. Her face kept changing, her beautiful eyes filled with resentment and gloom.

She finally fell asleep, only to feel cold all over. She was dreaming that she was taking a shower, but the water was a bit cold...

Her tent was violently pulled from the outside. Liam's frantic voice suddenly yanked Mia out of her sleep. "Mia! Mia, get out! The tent is about to be washed away!"

In the darkness, Mia opened her eyes wide, feeling the coldness beneath her, as if she were sleeping in water. Mia finally couldn't help but scream.

After finally being soothed by Liam and climbing out of the tent, Mia saw that the other guests had already emerged from their tents.

Rain poured down, drenching everyone and leaving them looking utterly miserable.

They were standing in a pool of water, with their tents and other items floating on the surface.

Sophia was standing to the side, sobbing in fear.

In the dark night, the scene was pure chaos.
