Chapter 17 Room Intrusion
At Jian Xi's door.
I hesitated again, not understanding what was wrong with me, why I had followed him here inexplicably.
I sighed, preparing to turn and leave.
Suddenly, a heavy thud came from inside the room.
I jumped, pushed the door open, and rushed in. "Jian Xi, what happened?"
His room had no lights on, curtains tightly closed, pitch black where I couldn't see my hand.
I groped my way in and asked softly. "Jian Xi, did you fall?"
Jian Xi seemed to have fallen hard. "Yes, I was changing clothes, and suddenly the power went out, so I fell......"
"Then how bad is the fall? Are you bleeding? Let me see......"
I walked to him by feel and reached down to check his injured leg.

I paused for two seconds.
