THE QUEEN'S BETRAYAL
Suddenly, Queen Seraphine appeared through a portal.
Kael stared at his mother.
"Mother?"
She looked at Elara.
"I came to bring you home."
Elara stepped back.
"Why?"
"Because this realm is too dangerous."
Lyra shouted,
"Don't trust her!"
Kael looked confused.
"What are you talking about?"
Lyra pointed at Seraphine.
"She helped create the Hollow."
Kael froze.
"That's impossible."
Seraphine closed her eyes.
"I did."
Kael's face changed.
"Why?"
"Because I believed emotions were destroying our world."
Elara stared at her.
"You created the same thing you once fought."
Seraphine whispered,
"I was wrong."
The Hollow appeared behind her.
It had been waiting.
Seraphine looked terrified.
"It used me."
The Hollow smiled.
"She gave me the first door."
Elara understood.
The real enemy had never been the Shadow King.
The Hollow had existed before him.
It had manipulated everyone.
Even Seraphine.
