CHAPTER FIFTEEN
THE DOOR THAT OPENED AGAIN
One year later, Elara and Kael lived in their small magical home between Aetheria and Veyra.
Their lives were peaceful.
Sometimes they traveled.
Sometimes they helped people.
Sometimes they simply sat beneath the stars.
Elara finally had everything she had once dreamed of.
Love.
Family.
Friends.
Freedom.
Peace.
One night, she woke suddenly.
Kael was asleep beside her.
A faint blue light filled the room.
Elara sat up.
A door had appeared.
Not golden.
Not black.
Blue.
She slowly approached it.
A familiar voice whispered from the other side.
"Elara."
She froze.
The voice belonged to her mother.
"Mom?"
The door opened slightly.
Elara saw a woman standing beyond it.
Her mother.
Alive.
Elara's heart stopped.
"Mom?"
Her mother smiled.
But there was fear in her eyes.
"Elara, listen carefully."
Elara stepped closer.
"Where are you?"
"I don't have much time."
"What happened?"
Her mother looked behind her.
Something moved in the darkness.
"Someone else created the Hollow."
Elara froze.
"What?"
Her mother whispered,
"The Hollow was only a servant."
Kael woke behind her.
"Elara?"
Her mother looked directly at her.
"The real enemy is coming."
The door began closing.
"Mom!"
Elara reached for her.
Her mother shouted one final sentence.
"Never open the door beneath the red moon!"
The portal vanished.
Silence filled the room.
Kael stood beside Elara.
"What did she mean?"
Elara looked at him.
"I don't know."
Then they heard something outside.
A knock.
Three slow knocks.
Knock.
Knock.
Knock.
Elara and Kael stared at each other.
Another door appeared on the wall.
This one was made of red stone.
And beneath it was a message written in ancient golden letters:
THE LAST DOOR WAS NEVER THE LAST.
Elara reached for Kael's hand.
He held it tightly.
She looked at the door.
And smiled.
Not because she wasn't afraid.
But because she had learned something.
Fear didn't mean she had to stop.
Sometimes fear was simply another door.
And Elara had never been afraid of doors.
She opened it.
A red moon appeared beyond the threshold.
And somewhere in the darkness, a man laughed.
