Chapter 7 Dragged to the Bathroom

My report to the teacher completely enraged Liu Tian.

She led the whole class to isolate me. She declared that anyone who spoke even one word to me would be ignored by her forever.

The most nightmarish day was the sports meet.

With no friends at all, I looked completely out of place in the lively crowd. After the class assembly ended, I slipped back to the classroom alone.

I had barely stepped into the empty room when Liu Tian and her gang followed me in. They dragged me straight to the girls' bathroom.

"You still dared to tattle? You really have guts."

My head was shoved under the faucet. Cold water poured over me.

"Don't. Let me go."

My struggles only earned me being forced to my knees and repeated hits to the head.

"Let you go? Keep dreaming."

"Haha, what do they call it? Stealing the chicken only to lose the rice.

After I beat you up, all I have to do is say sorry.

But you? You'll carry the name of thief for the rest of your life.

Go ahead and report me again. Let's see what new label you'll earn next time.

To be honest, even if I beat you to death, it's only a few hundred thousand. My dad can pay it easily."

"Yeah, Zhou Xiaoning, you're just an overreaching idiot. Don't you know how this school works? The vice principal is Liu Tian's uncle. Did you really think any teacher would help you?"

"Heh, her? Deaf, idiot, thief. It cracks me up."

Every word and every action from them made the world feel unbearably dark.

Heavy stones pressed down on my lungs.

I couldn't breathe.

This was not the prestigious high school I had worked so hard to enter.

Why were they doing this to me?

I only wanted good grades so my mother could feel proud.

They finally got tired of it, dusted off their hands, and left.

I rushed to the faucet and kept splashing water into my mouth.

I threw up everything I had eaten for breakfast. The nausea still wouldn't stop.

I didn't know how long I stayed in there before I finally pulled myself together and walked out.

The moment I came out, I saw Qin Chi leaning against the boys' bathroom door, smoking.

I quickened my steps.

"What happened to you?" It was the first time he had spoken to me since we started high school.

But I didn't want to face him.

We weren't even in the same class. He was next door.

Qin Chi stepped forward and grabbed my arm. He studied my face.

"Someone bullied you?"
