Chapter 8 Books Over Her Head

I pressed my lips tight and forced the tears back.

Liu Tian walked out of our classroom door and glanced in our direction. She frowned.

Qin Chi lit a cigarette. Smoke curled into the air.

"So those three girls bullied you?"

I looked at Qin Chi with my swollen eyes.

In that moment I wanted nothing more than to fight Liu Tian until one of us died.

"Can you help me get revenge?"

But Qin Chi had always disliked me too.

Still, he stubbornly held my arm and gave me a small spark of hope.

Qin Chi smiled slightly.

"If I help you, how will you repay me?"

That night after self-study ended, Qin Chi walked straight into our classroom. He stopped in front of Liu Tian's desk.

In front of the entire class, he picked up her textbooks and dumped them over her head.

Liu Tian's face turned deathly white. "What are you doing?"

No one in the class moved. They had all heard about Qin Chi.

Qin Chi picked up one of her books and flipped through it slowly.

"I'm just here to ask about one thing. I heard you told your classmates that Zhou Xiaoning stole your Meal Card. Is that right?"

Liu Tian's voice grew weaker.

"What exactly do you want to say?"

Qin Chi knocked on her desk.

"I just want you to tell everyone loudly. Did she take your Meal Card or not?"

Liu Tian stubbornly asked instead, "Who are you to Zhou Xiaoning?"

Qin Chi tilted his head. "Don't change the subject. Can't answer?"

"Fine. I'll give you one more chance. I'll count to three. If you still can't say it, it proves you slandered Zhou Xiaoning."

Qin Chi counted slowly. "Three... two... one."

Liu Tian stayed completely silent. Her face remained pale and her fists clenched tight.

"So Zhou Xiaoning never took your Meal Card. Heh. Who gave you the courage to think you could bully her?"

"Try touching her again."

Qin Chi shoved his hands into his pockets and walked over to me.

"I'll walk you back to the dorm room."
