Chapter 13 The Setup

The next few days, Lin Yuanyuan left me alone.

I thought the matter was over.

Until the weekend, after I finished cleaning duty.

The whole teaching building was almost empty.

I walked down the quiet corridor and saw Lin Yuanyuan coming toward me.

Liu Tian stood watching from a distance.

I frowned and sped up, wanting to get away.

But when we met, she grabbed me.

"Wait."

I watched her quickly throw a bottle of medicine on the ground, stomp on it, and kick it down the stairs.

Then she yanked her own hair and slapped herself.

I tried to shake her off. She pinched me hard and pulled my hair.

"Lin Yuanyuan, what are you doing? Let go!"

To break free I struggled with her.

"Zhou Xiaoning, you like Qin Chi, right? I want him to hate you completely."

Suddenly she let go and collapsed to the ground. Her face drained of color.

After she released me I started running, but something felt wrong so I ran back.

"What's wrong with you?"

She clutched her chest. Her breathing grew faster and faster.

"Someone help..." My legs had already gone soft.

A person came running over.

"The medicine."

Qin Chi opened her bag and searched frantically.

"She kicked it downstairs."

I came back to my senses and ran down to look for it.

While I was searching, Qin Chi had already carried Lin Yuanyuan out of the building.

"I found the medicine!"

I chased after them with the bottle. The moment Qin Chi got into the taxi I handed it to him.

"I'll come too."

"Hurry to the nearest hospital."

The car door slammed shut.

I ran all the way to the city hospital and found Lin Yuanyuan's ward.

Her parents were there.

"Doctor, how is my daughter?"

"She's stabilized. Don't worry."

I hid by the door and felt relief when I heard those words.

"What is the name of the student who hit my daughter? Which class?"

Qin Chi turned and saw me standing there. His face darkened.

"Uncle, let's let Yuanyuan rest first."

"Ah, I'm so worried. You don't know how anxious I was the whole way here."

Qin Chi came out and glanced at me.

"Come with me."

I followed him at once.

"Qin Chi, is she okay now?"

At the end of the corridor he turned around.

"Zhou Xiaoning, you disappoint me so much. You actually kicked someone's life-saving medicine down the stairs. This is attempted murder. Didn't I already tell you she has a heart condition? You still hit her. How did you become like this?"

Black and white had been completely reversed. My mind took a heavy blow. I answered excitedly, "She kicked the medicine down herself. She grabbed me and wouldn't let me leave. I only fought back so she would release me."

"Really? Who can prove that?"

Disgust flashed across Qin Chi's face.

He left me with his back once again.

I stubbornly asked, "Then who can prove her words?"

No one answered me.
