Chapter 22 Get Out
When I woke, harsh white filled my eyes.
Feng Si sat at the head of the bed, working quietly. The bruises under his eyes showed he had not slept for days.
When he saw me wake, light flared in his dull eyes.
"You're awake! How do you feel? Does anything hurt?"
I ignored his concern and only lifted the newly scabbed wound in front of him.
"Didn't you always resent me for leaving you a scar? Now we're even. Can you... show mercy and let me go?"
He seemed to force down a catch in his throat and pulled on a smile uglier than crying.
"You know perfectly well that except for this, I can promise you anything..."
I endured the sharp pain, picked up the glass by the bed, and smashed it at him.
"Get out! I don't want to see you!"
Water slid down his handsome face and soaked the computer on his legs.
In the past, he probably would have made me kowtow and admit fault.
But now, he only wiped his face calmly and told an assistant to take the computer for repair.
"Don't get worked up, Gu Qian. If you don't want to see me, I'll leave. The doctor said you're weak, and there's still a child in your belly. You shouldn't get angry."
With that, he tucked the blanket tight around me and quietly left the ward.
Seeing the once high-and-mighty Feng Si turn so careful and small, a crack opened in my frozen heart.
