27. Chapter 27
Jasmine
Dario doesn’t hesitate, crashing his lips into mine.
While he explores and plunders, a million thoughts are rushing through my brain, the very top one being that I should not be kissing this dangerous man.
Even though I no longer work at Jorgensen & Munson, I’m still his attorney, and he’s still my client.
My lips on his should be completely forbidden.
Good thing I now work for a family that doesn’t mind looking the other way when it comes to ethical scenarios.
But more than that, I shouldn’t be kissing Dario because he wasn’t wrong.
While he has proven he will protect me against the cruel world he’s a part of, there’s no way he can protect my heart from growing attached.
I’ve already slipped too many times, and now that his velvet lips are against mine, I only want to fall further.
I press my hands against his chest, pushing him toward where we were just seated, and with a small whimper, I tear my lips from his. “Sit.”
He immediately listens to my command, eager for whatever is about to happen next.
I pull my knees up on the hideous sofa, then straddle the man I’ve been trying to resist this entire time.
His hands reach around, cupping my ass and drawing me closer to him.
I greedily oblige, bringing my mouth back with his and moaning into the kiss.
Dario’s lips are so smooth, and he knows exactly how to move them against mine. I run my hands through his brown hair, pulling his head back at the nape as I breathe my next words heavily. “I need more.”
“I’ll give you everything you need,” he answers before pressing kisses to my neck, releasing another moan from my lips.
My body rocks against him, and he curses in Italian. “How the fuck do I get you out of this thing?”
I look down at my jumpsuit and grin. Standing up, I slowly begin to untie the belt at my waist, reveling in the way his eyes track my movements, and that wicked tongue of his licks his lip. I continue to undress, unbuttoning the outfit very slowly until my lacy black bra is visible.
“Fuck, angioletta, you’re gorgeous.”
His praise spurs me on as I shimmy the fabric down my body. Stepping out of the jumpsuit, I walk toward him in only my bra and matching thong. “Angioletta? I thought I was your bull?”
He reaches out, grabbing my hip and bringing me closer to him. Soft kisses pepper the curves of my breasts. “You’re my bull when you fight against me. You’re my angel when you give me a glimpse of heaven.”
He pulls me down on top of him, and my hands tangle into his brown locks. I want his mouth on mine again, but he’s too busy exploring my body with his lips. When he sucks one of my hardened nipples into his mouth through the thin lace, I gasp.
“You looked amazing before, but fuck angioletta, you’re stunning like this.”
“A fan of lingerie, are you?”
He hums, his lips vibrating against my neck. “Very much, but something is missing.”
I raise my eyebrows at him, and he licks his lips as his chocolate eyes rake over my body. “Put on your heels.”
A wide smile grows, and I take my time as I retrieve a pair of black pumps from where I kicked them off beside the door. I make sure to bend over in front of Dario, putting my ass on display and relishing the groan he releases as I slip my shoes on.
When I turn to face him, he runs a hand over his linen trousers and licks his lips. “Come here.”
I shake my head. “Actually, I think I’ll have you come here.”
Fire flashes in Dario’s eyes, and he nods in understanding. It only takes me a few steps to reach the island in the kitchen. I shimmy my bare ass on top of it, lean back, and I bite my lip before I make my demand. “Crawl to me.”
Dario’s lips tilt up into the gorgeous smile I’ve yearned to see all night. He stands from the couch and begins to cross the room.
I tsk and shake my head. “I said crawl.”
He kneels to the ground like the good boy he is, and I can feel myself grow wetter with each pass his knee makes against the beige, plush carpet. When he makes his way over to me, he sits back on his heels, awaiting his next order.
I run a hand through his hair, loving the way it feels through my fingers. Then, I place my right foot on his left shoulder. “Such a good, pretty boy. Now, I know you like them, but remove my panties.”
Again, he doesn’t argue. His hands skate up my calves and over my thighs while he presses gentle kisses against my ankle positioned over the Joker card on his chest. When he reaches my waistband, I yank at his brown strands. “No hands.”
A low chuckle sounds from him, and with his close proximity, I can feel it through the lace of the material, causing his breath to indirectly hit my pussy. That alone feels incredible, and I can’t wait to feel what his tongue can do.
Dario moves his mouth closer to me, placing a delicate kiss against the fabric, pressing it into my mound.
I swallow down the whimper clawing at my throat, wanting desperately to be the one directing things tonight.
It’s a losing battle when his tongue slips beneath, pulling the fabric away from my body so that he can take it into his teeth.
“What are you—” My words are replaced with a gasp when Dario tugs my panties, and I hear a ripping sound. My head is thrown back in ecstasy, and when I look down at him with my destroyed black thong dangling from his mouth, I nearly come on the spot.
His face lifts with his grin, then he opens his mouth and drops them so they fall between us. “What’s next, mio toro?”
Unable to resist, I reach out and tilt his chin before leaning down and kissing him. Fuck, why does this man have to be so hot? After a brief make-out session, I pull away, ready to give my next demand.
I place my foot on his shoulder again, exposing my core to him. “Make me come.”
I wriggle against my sheets, trying to get comfortable, but it’s no use. Pulling my pillow out from under my head, I press it against my face and scream. I only stop when I hear a man’s laugh.
“Good morning to you, too.”
I jerk myself up and stare down at the sexy Italian in my bed. “You slept over?”
He shrugs. “I always get tired after such a delicious meal.”
His smug smirk reminds me of the events that went down last night, as does the tremor pulsing through my pussy at his words.
I had no doubt Dario would be good in bed, but the way he had me coming on his tongue twice last night absolutely blew my mind.
Never have I had an orgasm from oral sex, but I’d be a liar if I said I didn’t love it.
“You’re disgusting,” I mutter, but his smile only grows wider.
“That’s not what you were saying last night. If the memory has already faded, I can repeat my actions this morning. I love a hearty breakfast.”
I roll my eyes, smacking him with my pillow. “I’ll pass.”
Dario sits up and flings his legs over the side of the bed before pressing a hand to his back and stretching. “That’s actually fine with me. Your mattress fucking sucks.”
I groan. “Ugh, I know. I’ve been meaning to go to one of the stores in town and get one, but I haven’t had a chance. I guess now that I’m unemployed, I can take care of that.”
His eyebrows furrow. “You’re not unemployed. You work for Caruso Enterprises.”
I wave a hand, and he continues, “And you won’t go to one of the stores in town. Not without me. Better yet, I’ll order you a mattress and have it delivered.”
Standing up, I walk my naked ass to the bathroom.
I can feel Dario’s eyes on me, but instead of feeling insecure like I normally do about my body in front of men, I feel empowered by it.
“It’s not the same. I have to test them out, or else I could end up with one just as bad or worse than the one I’ve got. ”
I open the top drawer of the vanity and feel around with one hand for my hairbrush, while I try to smooth down my hair with the other. I let out a huff when my fingers can’t land on it, and I have to look down. “Huh? That’s strange.”
“What’s wrong?” Dario asks, standing behind me and causing me to jump.
I place my hand over my heart. “Could you not sneak up on me like that?”
He doesn’t answer, his eyes glued to my exposed breasts. I snap a finger in his face.
“What’s strange?” he asks, finally looking at my face.
“I always put my hairbrush in the top drawer, but it isn’t in there.”
Dario points to the counter where my brush is located, and I shake my head. “I never leave my brush there. I always put it in the drawer.”
He shrugs. “Maybe you forgot.”
“Maybe…” I let the word linger in the air as I locate a ponytail holder and pull my hair into a messy bun.
Dario presses a kiss between my shoulder blades. “Sounds like you could use some coffee. Why don’t you clean up, and I’ll make you some?”
My body wants to melt against him, loving the sound of his suggestion, but I simply nod and step away. He leaves me to finish up my business in the bathroom, and I take my time doing so, the idea of my favorite beverage and a sinfully delicious man waiting for me sounding like absolute bliss.
Freshly showered, teeth brushed, and dressed in a fresh pair of unripped panties, I head out of the bedroom in search of the caffeine I was promised. My forehead wrinkles as Dario shuts the door, turning with a tray of coffees in front of him.
I cross my arms. “I thought you were making coffee.”
He huffs and sets the tray on the counter. “I tried, okay? I don’t drink the stuff and clearly don’t know what I’m doing. Don’t worry, though, I’ve already ordered you a new machine, and it’s supposed to be delivered in the next few hours.”
My eyes scan the kitchen counter, where a heap of coffee grounds sits on top of the machine. “What were you trying to do?”
Dario growls, and I ignore the way that noise makes me feel. “I couldn’t find where to put the coffee. I figured if you run the water through that spot, maybe you run the coffee grounds through it, too.”
I can’t hold back my laughter. “Bless your heart.”
He crosses the kitchen, pulling me into him, and I happily allow it. Being in his arms feels better than I ever imagined it would. It feels safe. It feels… like home. When he places a kiss on my forehead, I realize I could quickly fall for this man, and I firmly put my walls back up.
Pushing away, I go to examine the coffee he ordered from the cute shop around the corner. As I read the labels of each cup, I gasp at the very first one. “How did you know to get a lavender latte?”
Dario smiles sheepishly, shrugging. “Your breath smelled like lavender one day. I had a hunch.”
“That’s very…” Sweet. Thoughtful. “Observant of you.”
“If you aren’t in the mood for that, I ordered a plain black one too, so you can add your creamer to it that you have here. I also got a flavor called Bourbon Ball in case you wanted something that reminded you of home.”
Just when I put up my boundaries, this man goes and orders my favorite thing in the world, crumpling the walls and making me melt. I give him a chaste kiss on the cheek, careful not to linger so I won’t be tempted to do more. So much more.
“What are your plans for the day?” I ask him, secretly hoping it’s something that involves me, but knowing it’s better if it doesn’t.
“I need to head to Angelo and take care of a few things. I thought I could send a car for you around lunchtime, and we could finally have that meal together.”
A heavy sigh escapes my lips. “Dario, I really want your family to see me as a professional.”
His nose scrunches up. “Professionals don’t eat lunch?”
“Professionals don’t make out with their clients before telling them to crawl across the floor and make them come. Then go out to lunch with them.”
“But what if your clients really enjoy the way you do business?” he asks with a smirk.
I’m tempted to toss my coffee in his face, but the lavender syrup is too delicious to waste.
“Jasmine, I am asking you to lunch as your client. I will need to go over some things with you regarding my family and some dealings you may find of interest.”
“Oh, well, in that case, I suppose I can join you.”
Dario’s smile widens, and he comes over to place a kiss on my cheek. “I’ll have a car here at noon.”
“Sounds good,” I say to his back as he walks toward my door.
“It’s a date.”
The door closes behind him, and I speak to the air around me. “It’s not a date.”
