Chapter 93

"Her ways?" Caspian asked and furrowed his brows. He looked at me before he looked at Arden. "What do you mean by "her ways?" Are you talking about becoming a member of the Tribe?"

"Yes," Arden said and nodded. "That is what I am talking about when I say "her ways," for if you are to lead with her, then you need to know their customs and how to interact with all species that live here and not just humans."

"He won't be able to do much," I said and shook my head, "especially since his father is being controlled by an Elf.

Also, what do you mean about me being the leader?

" I asked and raised an eyebrow in question while I looked at Arden.

"I am not a leader and don't lead people to where they have to go or tell them what to do.

I am the one that does the stuff and most of the time I get told to do something. "

"Because you do tell people what to do and not just people," Arden said and shook his head. "Why do you think that the Wraiths follow your lead and why haven't there been any killings in the Shadows for a while?"

"I do not know why," I said and furrowed my brows while I tucked my head closer to my chest. "I know that they look to me for guidance, but sometimes that guidance is after they have done something and want to see if I approve of it or not."

"They wait for you to say something also," Jonah said, and I looked at him and raised an eyebrow in question. "I know a few of them that don't appear unless you are in the area to see if they can't be of service."

"Or they are my eyes and ears and will let me know if there is something wrong or strange going on like them being in the alleyways when they're not supposed to be." I gestured toward Caspian and Lexus.

"That was because we were trying to make sure that my father didn't know where we were going," Caspian said. "Lexus knew the way to get here so that was why he was wanting me to go that way."

"You'll need to start coming to my house too if I am supposed to teach you the Hargen Tribe ways," I said, "but you have be careful because I do not trust this Elf that is with the King, and I do not want him to know where I live and what I do for a living besides "helping" keep the kingdom afloat. "

"I still do not like the idea of you teaching the young ones where we can't be of service," Jonah said and folded his arms across his chest while he scowled. "How else will you be protected?"

"By staying home and doing it underneath the house in the cellar," I said and shrugged. "I don't know if Charles would like it if all of the Balis kids came over here to learn about everything that can be taught at home."

"Do you mind if we make house visits?" Arden asked and raised an eyebrow in question. "We can be of service to all of you."

"Besides me," Shilan said and rolled his eyes, and we looked at him. He grumbled something under his breath and laid down, flicking his tail in dissatisfaction while he laid his head on his paws. "And when will I get to go over there?"

"Never because you are a dragon and are going to get too big to fit inside of my house," I said and moved a hand across his neck. "One of these days you will be too big for this area, too and will have to live outside of the castle walls by yourself."

"No," Shilan said and lifted his head.

There was a hard look in his eyes, and I could tell that he did not like the idea of leaving me here and living out in the woods.

"How will I be able to stay in contact with you if you are not allowed to be outside of the walls unless during certain times? "

"You two will still have ways of keeping in contact with each other," Arden said, and we looked at him. "However, Marini is right. You will not be staying here when you get bigger or if you continue to create havoc on the business here like you have been doing."

"Then where am I supposed to live and how will I contact Marini?" Shilan asked and narrowed his eyes. "Has all of that been handled, or is it being handled?"

"We can talk about it later," I said, not wanting to start a fight with Shilan and them when we still had guests over, and Shilan looked at me with a shocked expression on his face as if he didn't think I would say something like that.

"We have guests, Shilan, and if you want to fight with them, then we will have to do it later.

" I gestured toward Caspian. "We still have to talk about the auras or whatever that was connecting both Rupor and I. "

"You know it is safe to say my name, right?" Caspian asked and held back an eye roll, which I ignored. "You can say my name and not have to call me by my title or "Rupor." I mean, I am going to be going to your house for some of these things, right?"

"That is correct, and you will be coming here, too," Jonah said.

He folded his arms across his chest and scowled, and I could tell that he was going to act like the over protective father that I knew him as.

"Now, I want you two to hold hands for me, please.

I want to see this bond that is between the two of you. "

I bit back a tired sigh and slowly nodded.

"Ok," I said and held out my hands for Caspian to take.

"Let's go ahead and see if they can't see the bond, Rupor, and no I am not going to call you by your name to get you to do it, so don't think that for even a second.

Ok? It's either Rupor and your titles. That is all you are ever going to hear from me. "
