Chapter 12
WREN
So, sex is definitely back on the table.
I lie here in Axel’s arms, reveling in the feel of him. This man does things to my body that I didn’t even think were possible. My head is on his chest, and the sound of his soft snores almost lulls me to sleep. Almost.
My stomach growls ruining the moment. I’m so damn hungry. I didn’t have time to eat lunch today, and it didn’t take long for us to have sex after I got here and then we climbed into bed. Needless to say, my stomach is about to eat itself.
I slowly unwrap myself from Axel’s arms and lift myself from the bed. I walk over to my bag and unzip it, pulling the pair of leggings and sweater that I brought out of the bag and slipping them on.
“Trying to sneak out again?” Axel’s voice rumbles from behind me.
“No,” I mutter as I turn around, tugging the sweater over my stomach. “I’m hungry and you didn’t feed me.”
He sits up and the sheet slips down his body, revealing his tanned skin and firm muscles. The piercings in his nipples glisten when the light hits them. I lock eyes with him and find him smirking, having caught me checking him out. My stomach growls again, loudly, making a laugh burst out of him.
“You weren’t lying about being hungry,” he says through his laughter as he climbs out of bed.
His words hurt, and apparently, it’s written all over my face because his smile drops as he walks over to me.
He stops in front of me and reaches out, grabbing the back of my neck and making me lock eyes with him.
“I’m sorry. I didn’t mean anything by that. ”
I give him a quick nod, and he leans down and presses a soft kiss to my lips before walking into his closet. I watch his firm ass as he walks away and then slip on a pair of socks before he joins me in a pair of grey sweatpants. My eyes immediately find the outline of his cock.
“You’re really going to wear those downstairs?” I grumble as I cross my arms over my chest.
“Jealous?” He asks with a smirk.
I grunt in annoyance before he leads me out of his suite and downstairs to feed me.
We were upstairs for a few hours, so it’s past seven and most of the members have already eaten, but a few of them are hanging around the main room with some of the club girls.
I don’t miss Patience’s look of disappointment when she sees us walk in together, and it makes me slide closer to Axel to rub it in even further, because, yes, I am jealous.
Axel wraps his arm around me and takes me into the kitchen where Chef is cleaning up. “Hey, Chef,” he says in greeting. “Anything left for us?”
Chef turns to face us and smiles widely. “You know I always have plenty of food,” he chuckles. “It’s good to see you, Wren. You need to come around more often.”
“I’m working on it,” Axel murmurs before grabbing two plates and handing one over to me.
The leftovers are in food warmers, so Axel removes the lids and dishes up some of everything onto my plate and his.
Chef is known for going overboard when it comes to the meals he makes for the club.
Tonight is no different. He made steaks, grilled shrimp, mashed potatoes, fettucine alfredo, green beans, candied carrots, salad, and an apple dump cake for dessert.
One thing about Chef, he won’t let anyone who comes to the clubhouse go hungry.
“This all looks incredible,” I tell him with a smile. “Thank you, Chef.”
“No problem, sweetheart,” he murmurs. “You let me know if you need anything, okay?”
I know that he’s not just talking about the food. He truly means anything. Chef was super close to my dad when he was a member. I know that they still talk every week. He’s probably looking out for me when my dad can’t.
“Will do,” I reply before letting Axel lead me out into the main room and over to the table.
I watch as he goes back into the kitchen and comes back out with two bottles of water. He takes the seat beside me and hands me one. I take it and then dig into the food, moaning as the fettuccine alfredo hits my tongue. I feel Axel stiffen beside me.
“What?” I mumble after swallowing. “This is better than what I made.”
“Don’t moan around my brothers,” he grumbles before wiping sauce from my lip and licking his thumb clean.
I roll my eyes. “Take it up with Chef,” I mutter. “If his food wasn’t so delicious, it wouldn’t be a problem.”
“Trouble in paradise, already?” Atlas chuckles as he takes the seat across from me.
“Looks like it,” Cane mutters as he plops down next to me.
“Oh look, the peanut gallery,” I say in mock excitement.
“It looks like you two were busy,” Atlas smirks at me.
“Very,” I reply cheerfully.
Axel shakes his head with a chuckle, and I take that as my cue to continue eating.
“What are you two up to tonight?” Atlas asks.
Axel finishes chewing before he replies. “I think we’re going to go on a bike ride before it gets too cold.”
My head whips toward him in excitement. “We’re going for a ride?”
He smiles widely. “Yep, once we’re done eating.”
I smile and then set to work on finishing my food. I’m probably eating too fast, if the laughter from the guys tells me anything, but I don’t care.
“I’d take that ride through town,” Cane offers. “Let people see the two of you together.”
“That’s a good idea,” Axel murmurs as he wraps his arm around my chair and tosses his napkin onto his plate.
I finish the last of my steak and then grab my water bottle, drinking it in its entirety before placing the cap back on and wiping my mouth with my napkin.
Axel looks down at my plate. “Did you have enough to eat?”
“Yes,” I tell him.
“Good,” he murmurs before grabbing our plates and empty water bottles. “We’ll see you guys later,” he tells Cane and Atlas before pushing his seat back and standing.
He waits for me to stand and then takes our plates to the kitchen before joining me again and walking me to his suite.
We go into the closet, and he changes into a pair of jeans, a black hoodie, black leather boots, and his black leather cut.
He grabs a black leather jacket and holds it open so I can slip into it.
It smells like him. Like leather and bergamot. It also swallows me whole.
“You look good in my clothes,” he rasps.
“You can barely see me in it,” I grumble playfully.
“It doesn’t matter,” he murmurs huskily. “You could be wearing a burlap sack, and it would be sexy. Did you bring shoes?”
“Just my Tennis shoes,” I tell him. “That’s okay, right?”
“Anything is better for the bike than the heels you typically wear.”
“Hey, don’t rag on my heels,” I chide him.
“Oh, I love your heels,” he murmurs as he stalks towards me. “They’re just not safe for my bike.”
“Okay,” I reply, my throat suddenly dry.
“Okay,” he says before kissing me breathless. It takes me a moment before I get my breathing under control and when I do, I find Axel looking down at me in wonder. It makes my heart skip a beat. “Get your shoes on, baby.”
I bite my lip and nod, walking into the bedroom and over to my bag.
I grab my tennis shoes and sit down to slip them on.
Axel offers me his hand and pulls me to my feet.
We walk out of the suite and through the clubhouse, smiling at the men and a few of the club girls as we pass.
I notice that Patience isn’t anywhere to be seen and it makes me smile.
Maybe that makes me a bitch, but I don’t care.
The cool air whips around us as we enter the parking lot and I’m immediately thankful that Axel made me wear his warm leather jacket. “Are you going to be warm enough?” I ask him.
“I’ll be fine,” he says as he looks down on me with a smile. “I’m glad you’re worried about me, though.”
I roll my eyes as he digs out the helmets for his bike and straps mine on.
He straddles the bike and then helps me get on behind him.
He starts the engine, and the rumbling makes chills rush up my spine.
I love being on a bike. Mainly, I’ve ridden on my dad’s bike.
Most of the brothers won’t let a woman ride on the back of their bike unless it’s their old lady. It’s important. This feels important.
I shove those thoughts down, not letting myself go there. Unable to let myself prepare for the inevitable heartbreak.
I wrap my arms around Axel’s waist, reveling in the warmth of his body.
He pulls the bike through the gates and onto the street, heading towards town.
It’s a cool night, so the air makes me tuck my head into Axel’s back.
I don’t look around as we ride, I just cling to Axel’s body and enjoy the moment.
We slow down as we enter town, so I lift my head and look around.
It’s well past eight, so the town is a little sleepier than normal.
Families are home so they can get their kids ready for school in the morning.
Most people are at home or heading there since they have to work in the morning, but there are still enough people out and about that word will get around that I was on the back of Axel’s bike.
We drive around the main streets in town and then Axel takes me onto the highway and opens up the throttle. I laugh as he speeds down the road while I cling to him. I could get used to this, and that scares the shit out of me.
