Chapter 19
This pack is losing. They do not have enough people to fight for their side. The wolves are also against them.
Just what the hell is happening? Why are the wolves involved in this?
Just a few distance away from the battlefield, I saw people running away from it. I mistook them as I thought they were also fighting but I saw the kids. Tons of them.
They were protected by the adults and were guiding them somwhere safe I guess.
They were a whole group and was running towards another set of people. Those people were standing outside a house and was doing a hand gesture for them to hurry up.
They all went safely into the house and the door was immediately shut.
It brought me back to reality.
It was an attack, dead bodies, blood, wounded people. They need help if they want to win because I'm pretty damn sure they need a doctor.
.
.
.
Kris! Oh shit, I almost forgot about them. I need to find them.
With that thought in mind, I dragged Tammy with me to go around the battlefield so we would not get attention from anyone and attack us.
The Alpha said nothing. He was sat down on the back seat of the car and was looking out the window.
He had longing in his eyes. This place reminds him of her. His first love, his mate, his future.
That's why he has no plan on staying long. The more he stays, the more his heart messes with him.
He had it all planned out since they were little. He was ready to face everything so long as he has her by his side. All of it came crashing down when she was gone.
He didn't believe it was possible for her to be gone so soon yet it was reality, and reality sucks.
He erased those thoughts and focused on what was currently happening.
His pack was under attack under the command of the Rogue Alpha. They say that he has been living as a rogue for more than a hundred years and yet still survived without anything.
He didn't understand why they would attack his pack all of the sudden. After all, he holds the most powerful one. And knowing his reputation, whoever speaks ill of him, randomly disappears.
Something was fishy and the Alpha is willing to find out, whatever it takes.
Always with that damn branch.
In movies, that branch either gets the person in danger or meets important people when they hear the snap.
Unfortunately for us, it was the former. We were surrounded by people, hundreds of them. They held threatening stances and were holding their ground.
The scar faced man smirked and answered threateningly.
The man squinted his eyes at the scar faced man but still shook his head.
The scar faced man and the people on his side just laughed it off, having no effect over them. With the same voice of authority, he spoke.
Claws versus hands.
Swords versus spears.
Humans vs wolves.
It was brutal. Bodies were flinging from left and right. Screams can be heard throughout the night. Tammy and I stood still in out spot. We were not too far away from them.
Before they clashed, I pulled Tammy out of the way, we didn't run that long because of the body that has dropped in front of us.
Tammy stood still and so did I. We turned around and witnessed history write its own story. Page by page, word by word, letter by letter.
Two sides were both fighting for their lives and it looks like no one will stop unless they're all dead.
I was right indeed, it was a fight to the death. And it feels like it was narrating its own plot.
It is too dangerous to stay here any longer, we gotta get out of here.
I pulled Tammy to the side and let her face me. For what seems like forever, she's finally back.
I feel like, whatever choice we make, its all a dangerous path.
Tammy nodded and like a switch, she was now leading me and I was the one following after her.
The dog and its owner.
We were almost there, just a few distance away from freedom. I can taste it, it was sweet, sugary, I can feel it almost satisfying my hunger.
And just like that, we ran. We ran towards the forest, our only hope of escaping this battle.
Before we can continue. A sound of horns echoed throughout the forest. It was so loud that the two sides had to stop to know where it came from.
We too, halted. And we remotely turned to the sound. It was coming closer. The sound of horns was still heard until cars appeared in all sides.
They surrounded the huge field, closing in. Not letting anyone get out of the circle that its already creating.
I've seen ten cars arriving at the same time. This was a lot more than that. A lot more. It was ten, no, a hundred times more.
They came in all directions, surrounding us. The car honking behind us snapped me out of my daze. The car was fast, lethal, they were driving towards us.
I pulled Tammy to the side to avoid conflict. However, someone got a hold of her before we could get to the side.
Like slow motion, the car or rather, the van that was driving towards us had its door open and a random man held onto Tammys waist and pulled her. But in reality it was just a matter of seconds.
It was painful but bearable. I recovered from my position and ran after the van. Stupid, I know but the only thing I was paying attention to was Tammy.
And I'll do anything to get her safe in my arms again.
The van was driving towards the field, I ran faster. I need to get her before she gets hurt.
The van suddenly stopped beside other cars. It was parked sideways but every car was parked properly.
The people in the van got out and dragged Tammy with them. My heart was screaming but I need to push harder.
They disappeared in the circle of cars. The same circle they created to surround the whole field.
I was close. I need to get her.
Run. Faster. Harder.
Save her.
I saw her, in the midst of the crowd. She was not cowering, she was calm and she wasn't shaking anymore, it was refreshing.
The people who were fighting earlier were either dead or was bowing down.
Bowing down to who?
They were all facing the same direction. A man was in front, he stood tall amongst everyone. He was surely the tallest.
Tammy turned to me, like she knew I was coming. She looked at me and smiled warmly.
She tapped the man beside her, and whispered something to him. He let her go and she turned her whole body to me.
Relief filled my insides however it only lasted a second when I realized that all eyes were now on me.
I looked at every single one of them, they were trying to intimidate me but I held my ground. I squinted my eyes, challenging them, wanting a fight for dominance.
However, dazzling gray eyes caught mine. I gasped, my mouth slightly parting.
Beautiful.
He was breathtaking. His eyes were intense, it roamed me, top to bottom, every curve and every line like he was memorizing it, his eyes held such intensity and focus. I felt naked under his gaze.
He was tall, very tall. He screamed danger. He was big, buff, strong. He clenched his hands.
He was indeed intimidating, he carried a dark aura around him, yet there was something missing in them.
His veiny arms started twitching. He was holding back.
From what?
He held my stare, but like a switch, his eyes were now empty and dull, it held no emotion and showed nothing but its color.
I feel a strong pull towards him. It was like we were somehow attached.
An invisible string attached to one another.
My breath hitched when he growled.
It was strong, loud, it held power. And for the first time I came here, I felt it.
I shivered.
