Chapter Nineteen – All Night #2
I grabbed her hand and headed for the side yard at a pace that would hopefully dissuade anyone from stopping me.
She laughed, saying, “Wait. We need to say goodbye, and tell Luca we’re leaving, and find Akela.”
“We even think about saying goodbye, and I’ll be stuck for at least an hour while everyone voices their opinion about what I am or am not doing right as my father’s stand-in. I’ll text Luca and my parents so they know the dog is staying here.”
“Cooper. I need to thank your parents for having me.”
“Send them a card.”
I continued to propel us through the side yard. The lights and music faded, but I could traverse this property with my eyes shut, with the same ease I loaded and unloaded my weapon.
Once we hit the front yard, I took the long way around the driveway too, just to ensure we weren’t stopped.
Once we reached my truck, I opened the door, helped her inside, and then jogged around the front, whipping my phone out of my pocket as I went.
By the time I was behind the steering wheel, I’d already sent the required texts and flung the phone into the drink holder.
“I forgot my coat,” she said, reaching for the door handle.
I turned the ignition, whipping the car around in the drive and heading for the road. “I’ll pick it up for you tomorrow when I get Luca.”
“You’re ridiculous.” But she said it with a wide smile. Her voice was carefree. Pleased.
The sound system on the truck automatically started the music from my phone, and a classic rock song with a long guitar intro blasted from the speakers. Andie picked up my phone. The screen was still unlocked from my texts, and she flipped through until she found my music app.
She skimmed my playlists, clucking. “Do you have anything that doesn’t scream?”
A few more swipes, and she shook her head. “This will have to do.”
She turned on an AC/DC song with Brian Johnson singing about a girl shaking him all night long, and relief filled me, knowing her mind was in the same place as mine.
The ride into town felt like an eternity. But when Andie went from AC/DC to the Doors and “Light My Fire,” my hard-on only got worse.
“You’re going to kill me before we make it home.”
Her smile faded a little, and I wondered what I’d said that had dimmed it, until she said, “It’s been a really long time for me, Cooper. I can’t promise I’ll light your fire.”
I grabbed her hand and placed it on the uncomfortable bulge in my jeans. “Havoc, you feel that?” When she flushed and nodded, I pulled her palm up and kissed the center of it. “You’ve already lit me up from the inside out with a kiss, a dance, and a smile.”
I pulled into her driveway instead of mine.
“Wait there,” I said as she reached for the handle. I jogged around the hood to open the door for her, looped our hands together, and practically dragged her up the steps.
She giggled. A soft, sexy sound.
At the door, I flipped us around so she was up against it and did what I’d been longing to do since this morning. I planted my mouth on hers.
It wasn’t sweet or slow. It was fueled by hours of longing, days of want. A passion that had been stuffed into the back of my mind for years now landed with full force on her.
She made that sound again. That hum from deep inside her that shifted my dick from hard to a solid block of concrete.
Her hand wrapped around my neck, fingers tugging at my hair, nails digging into my scalp.
When she pulled her lips away, I muttered a complaint until that sweet mouth landed on my neck and her teeth nipped at the tender spot below my ear.
I groaned, hands going to her ass and lifting her. As her legs wrapped around me, she returned that delightful mouth to mine. It felt like heaven. The weight of her. The taste of her. The pressure building deep inside.
With her pressed up against the door, I used my hands to drag the clips out of her hair, watching with deep satisfaction as long, silky strands tumbled over her shoulders and chest.
“I’ve been wanting to do that for days.”
She inhaled sharply before shoving those sexy lips against mine once more.
My palms slid under the hem of her sweater, coasting over warm, lush skin, and she shivered.
Reality struck. We were outside, in the freezing night air, clearly visible in her porch light for anyone to see. Reluctantly, I lifted my head and said, “Perhaps we should take this inside?”
I’d meant what I’d said before. I’d kiss her and walk away if that was what she wanted, but it would be the most painful thing I’d done in a very long time.
“My key is in my back pocket,” she said. Her eyes were darker than I’d ever seen them. Storm clouds offering rain and lightning and thunder. I’d take every last drop.
I tucked my hand into her back pocket, found the key, and took the opportunity to squeeze her ass, causing her to inhale sharply before I withdrew. I unlocked her door, slammed it shut behind us, and turned the deadbolt, all without letting her go.
She’d left the kitchen stove light on, and for two seconds, I wondered if coming home to the dark scared her, before I shoved the thought aside.
I carried her down the hall to the only decorated room in her house, where I dropped her on the bed. I planted a knee on the mattress and came down on top of her, locking my lips to hers once more, letting the heat and want and all-consuming passion take over.
It had been a long time for me too, but I swore I’d take her up and over the edge at least one time before I lost myself in her. Before I led us both on a furious pace to the best climax of our lives, with me buried deep inside her.
