Author's pov-
The air was thick with tension, a mix of something dangerous and forbidden.
Rehan's fingers lingered a little too long on Divya's waist, his touch deliberate as he pulled her closer. His voice was smooth, filled with an arrogance that should have made her pull away. But she didn't.
She wasn't sure if it was curiosity, temptation, or simply the absence of purv in that moment, but she let him.
A shiver ran down her spine when Rehan's hand trailed lower, grazing her hip, his grip firm yet teasing. He leaned in, his breath warm against her ear.
"You like this, don't you?" He murmured, his lips barely touching her skin.
Divya swallowed, heart pounding. She wasn't supposed to enjoy this. This was wrong. But her body betrayed her, the heart curling in her stomach undeniable.
And then-
A sharp movement.
She barely had time to react before a hand wrenched her away from rehan's hold.
Purv.
His grip on her wrist was almost painful, his jaw clenched, eyes burning with something dark- something she had never seen before.
"What the hell is going on here?" Purv's voice was low, dangerous.
Rehan smirked, unfazed. "Relax, man. We were just talking."
Purv's fist connected with rehan's jaw before he could even blink.
Divya gasped, stumbling back as Rehan hit the floor, wiping his bleeding lip with the back of his hand. Instead of anger, amusement flickered in his eyes.
"Temper, temper," rehan taunted, getting up slowly. "You're acting like she's yours."
Purv turned to Divya, his expression unreadable. "Come with me."
She hesitated.
And that hesitation-no matter how small-was enough to break something between them.
"Now," he snapped, voice laced with something sharp, something that sent a cold chill down her spine.
Without a word, she followed.
