Breaking point
Author's pov-
The moment they were alone, purv turned to her, his hands shaking, his breathing erratic.
"What the fuck was that, Divya?" His voice was loud, filled with something more than just anger- hurt.
She flinched but held her ground. "Nothing. It was nothing."
His laugh was bitter. "Nothing? You let him touch you. You let him."
She clenched her fists. "We're not in a relationship, purv. You never made me yours."
Silence.
Purv's eyes darkened, his chest rising and falling rapidly. "So, that's your excuse?"
Her throat tightened. "I-"
"You let him put his hands on you because I never gave you a label?" His voice cracked, raw and unfiltered. "I thought... I thought you were mine."
Divya's heart twisted. "You never said that."
His fists clenched at his sides, his whole body rigid with surpressed rage. "Because I was scared," he admitted, voice lower now, almost broken. "I was scared of hurting you. Of ruining you the way I ruin everything else in my life."
Tears burned in her eyes. "Then why are you angry now?"
He exhaled sharply, running a hand through his hair. "Because I love you."
Her breath caught.
But before she could respond, purv took a step back, shaking his head as if he was just realising something.
"No," he muttered. "I can't do this."
He turned away.
Divya's heart clenched. "Purv-"
But he was already walking away.
And just like that, everything shattered.
