Watching him leave
Author's pov-
Divya stood frozen, her heart pounding so loudly she could barely hear anything else.
Purv was leaving.
He had said the words-the ones she had longed to hear. I love you. But instead of holding on, he turned away.
She should have called him back. Should have stopped him.
But she didn't.
She watched as he walked down the corridor, his shoulders tense, his hands clenched into fists. She could see the turmoil in him, the way he was fighting against himself.
And then-he was gone.
A hollow ache settled in her chest, heavy and suffocating.
For a long moment, she stood still, waiting-hoping-he would come back. That he would turn around, take her in his arms, and tell her this wasn't over.
But he never did.
Tears welled up in her eyes, but she refused to let them fall. Not here. Not now.
She inhaled sharply, straightening her shoulders.
If purv could walk away so easily, then maybe... maybe he was never meant to stay.
But deep down, she knew that was a lie.
Because nothing about him-about them-had ever been easy.
And maybe that was the problem.
