Hidden shadows
Author's pov-
From behind the staircase, concealed in the dim light of the hallway, two figures stood still- watching.
Vaani's lips curled into a victorious smirk as she saw purv walking away, his expression stormy, his entire body stiff with anger and pain.
Rehan stood beside her, arms crossed, amusement flickering in his eyes. "Well, that was easier than I expected," he mused, his tone light, almost mocking.
Vaani let out a small chuckle, her eyes gleaming with satisfaction.
"Ofcourse it was. You don't understand purv like I do.
" She tilted her head slightly, watching as Divya remained frozen, staring at the empty hallway.
"He doesn't handle betrayal well. He runs.
And she just gave him the perfect reason to. "
Rehan let out a low laugh. "And here I thought you wanted him back. But you wanted him broken instead."
Vaani turned to him, her smirk unwavering. "Purv never stopped mattering to me. But that girl?" She sneered. "She had no right to be close to him. I've been in his life since we were kids, and suddenly she waltzes in, and he looks at her like that?" She scoffed. "No, she needed to learn her place."
Rehan raised an eyebrow, intrigued. "So, ruining them was all just... jealousy?"
Vaani clicked her tounge. "Jealousy, revenge-call it whatever you want. She needed to go. And now? Purv will never trust her again."
Rehan's smirk deepened. "And what about me? Was I just your pawn in this?"
She turned fully to face him, placing a hand on his chest, her fingers trailing up lazily. "You enjoyed it too, didn't you?" She whispered. "Making her think you wanted her, playing into her weakness while purv stood there, helpless?"
Rehan chuckled darkly, gripping her wrist. "Oh, I did enjoy it," he admitted, his voice low, dangerous. "But let's not forget- I'm not the type to settle for being used, vaani."
She raised an eyebrow, unbothered. "And what exactly are you implying?"
Rehan leaned in, his lips brushing against her ear. "That I always have my own game. And maybe, just maybe, I'm not done playing yet."
Vaani narrowed her eyes but said nothing.
Because for now, they had won.
And purv and Divya were shattered.
