Chapter - 35

At exactly 2:13 a.m., Nani woke up with one immediate problem.

He couldn't move.

He blinked.

Then looked down.

Sky's arm was locked around his waist.

Nani tried shifting.

Nothing.

He tried again.

Still nothing.

"...Sky."

A sleepy grunt.

"Sky."

"Hm?"

"You're crushing me."

Sky didn't open his eyes.

"You're warm."

Nani stared at the ceiling.

"You're the head of a criminal empire."

"Mm."

"People are probably terrified of you right now."

"Probably."

"And you're currently hugging me like a teddy bear."

Sky tightened his arm.

"You're my teddy bear."

Nani's mouth dropped open.

"...What the hell happened to you?"

"Nothing."

"You're insane."

"Go back to sleep."

Nani attempted to escape.

Sky immediately pulled him back.

"Where are you going?"

"Bathroom!"

"Oh."

Sky released him.

Nani got up.

Two steps.

"Come back."

Nani slowly turned around.

"Why?"

Sky opened one eye.

"I don't like sleeping alone."

Nani stared.

"You have an entire mansion."

"I said I don't like sleeping alone."

Nani sighed.

"You're unbelievable."

Sky held out his hand.

Nani reluctantly took it.

"Five minutes."

Sky pulled him back into bed.

"Twenty."

"Five."

"Fifteen."

"Seven."

"Deal."

---

8:00 A.M.

Dew entered the kitchen.

"Boss, the Singapore shipment arrived and-"

Sky walked in behind him.

Black shirt.

Sleeves rolled.

Cold expression.

The entire room immediately went quiet.

Tee straightened.

The guards stood.

Sky's voice was calm.

"Move the shipment to Warehouse Three."

"Yes, Boss."

"Double security."

"Yes."

"Nobody touches the containers until I inspect them."

"Understood."

The terrifying mob boss was back.

Sharp.

Controlled.

Untouchable.

Then Nani wandered in wearing oversized pajamas.

"Sky."

The entire room froze.

Sky turned immediately.

"What?"

"I want pancakes."

"Okay."

Dew slowly looked at Tee.

Tee looked back.

Sky turned toward the kitchen staff.

"Make pancakes."

"Yes, Boss."

Nani smiled.

"With strawberries."

Sky nodded.

"And strawberries."

Nani walked away.

Sky watched him leave.

Then turned back toward the guards.

"Continue."

Dew stared at him.

"...Sky."

"What?"

"You just interrupted a security briefing to order pancakes."

Sky's expression remained completely serious.

"He wanted pancakes."

Dew nodded slowly.

"Of course."

---

Later that afternoon, Sky was in his office handling a negotiation.

Three men sat across from him.

Nobody dared speak out of turn.

Sky leaned back in his chair.

"You have forty-eight hours."

One man swallowed.

"And if we refuse?"

Sky's eyes hardened.

"Then you won't have a business to refuse with."

Silence.

His phone vibrated.

Sky glanced down.

Nani:

where are you ??

Sky's entire expression changed.

The men stared.

Sky typed:

Office.

Another message appeared.

come here

Sky stood.

The men looked horrified.

"Boss?"

Sky grabbed his coat.

"Meeting postponed."

"But-"

"I said postponed."

He walked out.

Dew watched him leave.

Then looked at the three terrified businessmen.

"Congratulations."

They stared at him.

"You've just been defeated by a man wearing pajamas."

---

Sky found Nani in the library.

Nani was curled up on the sofa.

"You took too long."

Sky walked over.

"I was working."

"I know."

Nani opened his arms.

Sky didn't hesitate.

He sat beside him and pulled Nani against his chest.

Nani smiled.

"You're clingy."

Sky rested his chin on Nani's head.

"Yes."

"And terrifying."

"Yes."

"And probably ordering someone else's downfall right now."

Sky's phone vibrated.

He checked it.

A message from Tee:

The shipment problem has been handled.

Sky typed:

Good.

Then put the phone away.

Nani looked up.

"See? Mob boss."

Sky smirked.

"Still."

Nani poked his cheek.

"But also clingy."

Sky caught his hand.

"Only for you."

Nani smiled.

"Fine."

Sky pulled him closer.

"Good."

From the doorway, Dew whispered to Tee,

"He's still terrifying."

Tee nodded.

"Definitely."

Dew watched Sky cuddling Nani while casually reading a confidential business report.

"...Just terrifying with priorities."

Tee sighed.

"Honestly? Nani is the only person who can interrupt that man without getting fired."

Dew looked at him.

"Or killed."

"Exactly."

From the sofa, Sky suddenly spoke without looking up.

"I can hear you."

Dew immediately disappeared.

"RUN."

Nani burst out laughing.

And Sky?

He simply tightened his arm around Nani and went back to reading.

Mob boss.

Dangerous.

Powerful.

Absolutely ruthless.

And, unfortunately for his reputation-

hopelessly attached to one annoying little man.

....

Nani made a decision that evening.

A very brave decision.

A decision that would probably get him into trouble.

"I'm sleeping alone tonight."

Sky looked up from his laptop.

"No."

Nani blinked.

"...That wasn't a question."

Sky closed the laptop.

"Still no."

"I'm serious."

"So am I."

Nani pointed toward the hallway.

"Your room is literally ten steps away."

"Exactly."

"I want my own bed."

Sky stared at him.

Nani stared back.

Finally, Sky sighed.

"Fine."

Nani smiled victoriously.

"Thank you."

He walked away.

Sky watched him disappear.

His jaw tightened.

"...Fine."

He said it like a man signing a peace treaty he deeply regretted.

---

12:47 A.M.

Nani was peacefully asleep.

His blanket was wrapped around him.

His pillow was perfectly positioned.

Everything was quiet.

Then-

Click.

The bedroom door opened.

Nani didn't wake up.

A large figure entered.

Sky.

He walked toward the bed, stared down at Nani for several seconds, then whispered,

"This is stupid."

Nani shifted in his sleep.

Sky sighed.

"You chose this."

He carefully pulled the blanket back.

Nani mumbled something incomprehensible.

Sky scooped him up.

Nani's eyes cracked open.

"...What?"

Sky froze.

"Go back to sleep."

Nani blinked.

"Sky?"

"Hm."

"Are you kidnapping me?"

"No."

"You literally picked me up."

"Relocation."

Nani's sleepy brain processed that.

"...You're ridiculous."

Sky carried him out.

"Sleep."

"Put me down."

"No."

"Sky."

"You're coming with me."

"Why?"

Sky looked down at him.

"Because I couldn't sleep."

Nani stared.

"You sulked?"

"No."

"You did."

"No."

"You absolutely did."

Sky opened his bedroom door.

"Go to sleep."

Nani yawned.

"Clingy."

"Correct."

---

A few minutes later, Nani was tucked against Sky's chest.

Sky's arm rested around him.

Finally satisfied, Sky closed his eyes.

Nani mumbled,

"You could've just asked me to come."

"I did."

"When?"

"I said fine."

"That doesn't count."

Sky didn't answer.

Nani smiled sleepily.

"Idiot."

"Sleep."

"Bossy."

"Sleep."

"Clingy."

Sky pulled him closer.

"Definitely."

Within minutes, both were asleep.

---

3:18 A.M.

Sky suddenly felt something warm against his shirt.

He opened one eye.

Silence.

He looked down.

Nani was completely unconscious, face buried against his chest.

Sky noticed a tiny wet patch on his shirt.

He stared.

Then looked at Nani.

Then back at the shirt.

"...Seriously?"

Nani peacefully continued sleeping.

Sky's mouth twitched.

"You drooled on me."

No response.

Sky shook his head.

"You little menace."

He should have moved.

He didn't.

Instead, he pulled the blanket higher around Nani.

Then settled back against the pillows.

A few minutes later, Sky was asleep again.

---

8:30 A.M.

Nani woke first.

He stretched.

Then realized something.

He was back in Sky's room.

His head was resting against Sky's chest.

He slowly looked up.

Sky was still asleep.

Nani smiled.

Then noticed the small stain on Sky's shirt.

His eyes widened.

"...Oh no."

Sky's eyes opened.

He looked down at Nani.

"Good morning."

Nani immediately looked away.

"Morning."

Sky glanced at his shirt.

Then at Nani.

"...Anything you'd like to tell me?"

"No."

"You drooled on me."

Nani covered his face.

"I was asleep!"

Sky laughed.

"You destroyed my shirt."

"I'll buy you a new one."

"Good."

Nani peeked through his fingers.

"You're not angry?"

Sky pulled him closer.

"No."

"Why?"

Sky smiled.

"Because apparently this is the price of stealing you back."

Nani groaned.

"You kidnapped me because you missed me."

Sky kissed his forehead.

"Maybe."

"Clingy."

"Very."

Nani laughed and hid his face against Sky's chest again.

Sky smiled.

"Stay."

Nani sighed.

"...Fine."

And the terrifying mob boss had officially decided that one drooled-on shirt was a perfectly acceptable sacrifice.
