Chapter - 37

The morning started peacefully.

Which, in Sky's mansion, usually meant someone was about to cause trouble.

Sky was in his office, dealing with business.

His sleeves were rolled up, his phone pressed to his ear.

"Move the shipment tonight. I don't want delays."

A guard nodded.

"Yes, Boss."

Sky ended the call.

Then he noticed something.

His favorite black jacket was missing.

He stared at the empty hook.

"...Where's my jacket?"

---

Meanwhile, upstairs...

Nani stood in front of the mirror.

Wearing Sky's jacket.

It was obviously too big.

The sleeves covered half his hands.

The shoulders practically swallowed him.

Nani looked at himself.

Then smiled.

"Okay..."

He turned sideways.

"...This is actually cute."

He pulled the collar closer.

It smelled faintly like Sky's perfume.

Nani's cheeks warmed.

Then he heard footsteps.

He turned.

Sky stood in the doorway.

Silence.

Sky looked at the jacket.

Then at Nani.

Then back at the jacket.

Nani slowly smiled.

"Hi."

Sky's eyes narrowed.

"That's my jacket."

"I know."

"Why are you wearing it?"

Nani shrugged.

"Because I wanted to."

Sky walked closer.

"You could've asked."

"You would've said no."

"I wouldn't have."

Nani blinked.

"Really?"

Sky nodded.

"Keep it."

Nani's smile widened.

"Seriously?"

"Yeah."

Sky reached out and adjusted the collar around Nani's neck.

"Looks better on you anyway."

Nani froze.

"...What?"

Sky casually stepped back.

"I said it looks better on you."

Nani's ears turned pink.

"You're getting too good at flirting."

Sky smirked.

"You're getting too easy to fluster."

"I'm not flustered."

"Your ears are red."

"They're not."

"They are."

Nani immediately covered them.

"Shut up."

Sky laughed.

---

Later

Nani walked downstairs wearing the jacket.

Dew was sitting on the sofa.

He looked up.

Then froze.

"Is that Sky's jacket?"

Nani nodded proudly.

Dew looked toward Tee.

"Oh, this is dangerous."

Tee glanced over.

"Why?"

"Because that's Boss's favorite jacket."

Tee looked at Nani.

Then at the jacket.

"...He gave it to him?"

"Apparently."

Dew shook his head.

"The man won't let anyone touch that jacket."

Nani smiled.

"Apparently I'm special."

Dew grinned.

"Oh, you're definitely special."

---

Sky entered the room a few minutes later.

His eyes immediately landed on Nani.

Then-

Dew noticed something.

A woman from Sky's business team had entered behind him.

She greeted Sky.

"Boss, the documents you requested."

Sky nodded.

"Leave them on my desk."

She smiled.

"Of course."

Nani watched.

His expression changed slightly.

Not angry.

Just...

Quiet.

Sky noticed.

Of course he noticed.

He walked toward Nani.

"You okay?"

"I'm fine."

Sky looked at the jacket.

Then at Nani.

Then at the woman.

Understanding flashed across his face.

A tiny smile appeared.

Nani narrowed his eyes.

"What?"

"Nothing."

"Why are you smiling?"

Sky leaned closer.

"You're jealous."

Nani immediately scoffed.

"No."

"Sure."

"I'm not."

Sky's smile grew.

Nani crossed his arms.

"Don't look at me like that."

"Like what?"

"Like you're enjoying this."

"I am."

Nani huffed.

Then deliberately pulled Sky's jacket tighter around himself.

Sky's gaze dropped to it.

Nani smirked.

"What?"

Sky stepped closer.

"Nothing."

Then he quietly said,

"Keep wearing it."

Nani blinked.

"Why?"

Sky leaned down near his ear.

"So everyone knows whose jacket you're stealing."

Nani's face went completely red.

Dew immediately turned away.

"Jesus."

Tee covered his mouth.

"Again?"

Dew nodded.

"Again."

---

That evening, Nani was sitting on the couch.

Still wearing the jacket.

Sky walked past.

Stopped.

Looked at him.

Then continued.

Nani frowned.

"Sky."

"Hm?"

"You don't want it back?"

Sky looked over his shoulder.

"No."

"Why?"

He smiled.

"Because every time you wear it, you look at me like you're trying to decide whether you want the jacket..."

He walked closer.

"...or me."

Nani stared at him.

"And?"

Sky leaned closer.

"Which one?"

Nani's face burned.

He grabbed a cushion and threw it at Sky.

"GO AWAY!"

Sky caught it effortlessly.

Then laughed.

"That's what I thought."

Nani buried his face inside the oversized jacket.

From the hallway, Dew whispered,

"He's gone."

Tee nodded.

"Completely."

Sky walked away with a satisfied smile.

And Nani stayed curled inside the jacket

secretly smiling too.

...

The mansion was unusually quiet that night.

Most of the lights had been turned off, leaving only the warm lamps along the corridors.

Nani stood outside Sky's office, wearing the oversized black jacket he'd stolen earlier.

He knocked twice.

"Come in."

Nani peeked inside.

Sky was sitting behind his desk, still working.

His sleeves were rolled up, tie loosened, several files spread across the table.

Nani frowned.

"You're still working?"

Sky looked up.

"Unfortunately."

"It's almost midnight."

"I know."

"You should sleep."

Sky raised an eyebrow.

"Are you ordering me around?"

"Yes."

"Brave."

Nani walked inside.

He leaned over the desk and looked at the paperwork.

"What is all this?"

"Business."

"Boring."

"Extremely."

Nani picked up one folder.

Sky immediately took it from him.

"Don't touch that."

"Why?"

"Because you'll get bored."

"I was already bored."

Sky smiled.

"Then go sleep."

Nani made a face.

"You first."

"I'll come later."

"No."

"Nani."

"No."

Sky stared at him.

Nani stared back.

Finally, Sky sighed.

"Fine. I'll come after I finish this."

Nani pointed at him.

"Promise?"

"Promise."

Nani nodded.

"Goodnight, Mr. Sky."

Sky stopped writing.

His pen froze above the paper.

Slowly, he looked up.

"You're doing it again."

Nani smiled innocently.

"Doing what?"

"Calling me Mr. Sky."

"You don't like it?"

"No."

Nani's smile widened.

"Goodnight, Mr. Sky."

Sky leaned back.

"You really enjoy provoking me."

"Maybe."

Nani walked toward the door.

"Goodnight."

He turned the handle.

Then heard Sky's voice.

"Nani."

He looked back.

Sky was watching him.

"Come here."

"Why?"

"Just come here."

Nani walked back.

Sky stood from his chair.

For a moment, he simply looked at him.

Then he gently fixed the collar of the oversized jacket.

"You'll catch cold."

"I'm wearing your jacket."

"Exactly."

Nani smiled.

"You're worried about me."

"Always."

Nani's teasing expression softened.

Sky brushed a stray strand of hair away from his forehead.

"Sleep well."

Nani nodded.

Then, almost shyly-

"Goodnight, Sky."

Sky smiled.

"Much better."

Nani turned red.

"Don't get used to it."

"Too late."

---

Ten minutes later

Nani was lying in bed.

He stared at the ceiling.

Then rolled over.

Then rolled back.

He covered his face with the blanket.

"Why did he have to say it like that?"

A knock came at the door.

Nani sat up.

"Who?"

"It's me."

He opened the door.

Sky stood there.

"Didn't you say you were going to finish working?"

"I changed my mind."

Nani smiled.

"Why?"

Sky looked at him.

"Because you told me to sleep."

Nani stepped aside.

"Fine."

Sky walked in.

He stopped beside the bed.

"Happy?"

"Very."

Nani climbed under the blanket.

Sky pulled the blanket higher around him.

Nani looked up.

"You're actually listening to me?"

"Sometimes."

"Wow."

"Don't get excited."

Nani laughed.

Sky turned toward the door.

"Goodnight."

Nani caught his sleeve.

"Wait."

Sky looked down.

Nani hesitated.

"...Stay for a little?"

Sky's expression softened instantly.

"Okay."

He sat beside him.

Nani rested his head against Sky's shoulder.

Neither spoke.

The silence wasn't awkward.

It was comfortable.

After a while, Nani mumbled,

"Sky?"

"Hm?"

"I like this."

Sky looked down.

"What?"

"This."

Nani gestured vaguely between them.

"No fighting. No running. No weird family drama."

Sky smiled.

"Me too."

Nani yawned.

"And your jacket."

"Of course."

"Don't take it back."

"I won't."

Nani's eyes slowly closed.

A few minutes later, he was asleep.

Sky carefully adjusted the blanket around him.

He looked at Nani for a moment, then whispered,

"Goodnight, trouble."

Nani didn't hear him.

Probably.

Sky stood quietly and switched off the lamp.

As he reached the door, Nani's sleepy voice suddenly came from the bed.

"Love you too..."

Sky froze.

He turned around.

Nani was completely asleep.

Sky stared at him.

Then a slow smile appeared.

"...I'll pretend I heard that."

And for once, the most feared man in the city walked out of the room smiling like an idiot.
