The Moment His Heart Began to Doubt #2
" I thought you probably don't like being too close to me."Meera lowered her eyes.
Aarav frowned. He didn't know Meera thought of him like that.
"What makes you think that?"
Meera gave a small, uncertain smile.
" Aarav, you and me both know. What i feel for you. But you already give me your answer . And i also don't want try more. As i know what you think of me . " Meera answered him
Aarav become angry and said " what are trying to say? That you disgust me? That i don't love you because you are not from my world? "
" I don't know what you think of me now. But in past you clearly told what you felt about me. And I am also tired of trying. And i th... " Meera said while looking at his eyes which she loved most .
"I think it's better if we maintain some distance." Meera finished her work while looking into his eyes.
Aarav stared at her.He hadn't expected those words.
Especially not from Meera. She had spent so long trying to get closer to him. Trying to make him understand she only loved him and wanted him.
Now she was the one creating distance. It's felt off for him. And don't know why but he didn't like it.
But Aarav said nothing.
Meera closed the laptop slightly.
"Actually, Aarav... I wanted to tell you something." Meera said.
"What now?" Aarav said while getting irritated now.
"Actually after my exam, I think i will go to my grandmother's house. And.." Meera can't finish her words . Aarav interfered her.
"So? What now? Why are you telling me this?"Aarav's expression remained neutral.
Meera blinked.
"I'm telling you because of your stupid project." Meera said while getting irritated as he never listened to her.
"If you need me to for your project or deal . Tell me before I leave, for my village. My grandmother isn't feeling well, and I need to stay there for a few days."She continued carefully.
Aarav leaned back to the couch .
"Don't worry about it. There are plenty of people here who can take your place." Aarav said while smiling as he wanted her to be more angry.
Meera's expression changed instantly.
She understood exactly what he was doing.
"You really know how to make someone angry. Good luck to your plenty of people." Meera said and put down his laptop on the couch.
Aarav raised an eyebrow.
"I only said there are other people. Why you get angry on that? Can't even handle a little truth?" Aarav said and learned closer to her face and trapped her under him .
Meera looked directly at him. She didn't be scared or uneasy. She just looked at eyes and put one hand on his chest.
"Yes. There are many people Here but they're not me." Meera said and lightly pushed him away.
Aarav went silent. And Meera smiled.
Meera handed him the laptop.
"Send the paperwork to my phone. I'll check everything there and send you whatever you need." Meera said.
Aarav took the laptop from her.
Before he could respond, Meera stood.
"Good night, Aarav. "She said and walked toward the door.
Aarav watched her leave.
The door closed.
He stared at it for several seconds. He knew exactly what he had done.He could have said something else.
But apologizing...That wasn't something Aarav was good at.
The Next Morning :??????
___________________________
Aarav woke up later than usual today.
He quickly got a shower and walked downstairs.
Janvi was already sitting at the dining table.
The moment she saw him, she smiled.
"Come, Aarav. Your breakfast is ready." Janvi said to her son.
"Thanks, Mom. You know why i love you most ."Aarav said and sat down.
Janvi served him breakfast.
For a few moments, everything was quiet. Then she suddenly spoke.
" Aarav if i ask you something , you won't mind , right? " Janvi asked Aarav.
" You know me mom. Even you annoy me half of my life , how can i mind now?" Aarav said while eating his breakfast.
" Actually i want to know when is Aditi coming here? I ask her but she doesn't tell me." Janvi said.
Aarav nearly coughed on his food. But somehow he calmed himself down.
"Mom.. Don't start again. At last not here." Aarav said while trying to stop his mom.
But Janvi frowned.
"It's already been months since you came here . And you are both already together for years . I want you two to get married." Janvi said.
" Mom ,we both haven't even discussed marriage. I think it's not the right time."Aarav put his spoon down.
Janvi looked at him seriously.
"Why not? You're old enough, and Aditi has already finished her graduation. I think this is the perfect time." Janvi argued with him.
Aarav rubbed his forehead. As he didn't know how to stop his mom.
"Mom, please. Not during breakfast. We will discuss later "Aarav said.
"Why not during breakfast?" Janvi said she didn't let her son this time.
"Because I don't want to talk about this right now. And Aditi also didn't want it now." Aarav said while now getting irritated by his mom.
Janvi became more serious.
"Then when will you talk about it?" Janvi asked him.
Aarav remained silent. He needed his mom to stop now.
"Your father and I aren't getting any younger. My friends already have grandchildren. And here I am, still waiting for my son to tell me when he's finally going to be ready for marriage."Janvi continued.
"Mom, please stop."Aarav sighed.
"No. I'm asking you a simple question. Do you love Aditi?"Janvi crossed her arms.
Aarav looked away but then looked back to his mom .
"I...."He stopped.
For some reason, the answer didn't come as easily as it once had.
"Aarav?"Janvi noticed his hesitation.
"What this question. Of course i love her. And don't worry we marry soon." Aarav said as he didn't any way to stop his mom.
" You always say that. You know you're already born when your dad was your age. And here you!!" Janvi now getting more angry. As he didn't listen to her.
"Mom i have to go. I have a meeting in the office."He immediately stood up.
"You haven't finished breakfast!"Janvi stared at him.
"I'm not hungry anymore." Aarav said and started walking to his room.
"Aarav!" Janvi called him but he didn't come back.
But he was already walking away.Janvi watched him disappear toward the stairs.
