Chapter 21

Advait was in his study sitting on the couch placed in the middle of the room and Aditya was standing in front of him like an obedient kid. His lips were formed in a cute pout and eyes were dripping with innocence.

"Come here, Adi." Advait pointed at the spot in front of him.

He slowly stepped forward and stood there but Advait gently pulled him by his arm and made him stand between his legs.

"Bhaiyaa." Aditya whined because of the position.

"What?" Advait casually asked.

"Ab nahi daantna." He leaned on him resting his face on his shoulder.

Advait smiled and rubbed his back, "I just want to make you understand baby, no more scoldings. I promise."

Aditya looked at him with a smile and kissed his cheek.

"Kuch bhi kehne se pehle mujhe ye bata ki meri baato ki tere liye koi value hai ya nahi otherwise I won't waste my energy on you." Advait calmly asked.

Aditya looked down feeling guilty but didn't reply.

"Bol beta." Advait pressed.

He nodded and went silent.

"Use your words." Advait said.

"Value karti hai, bhaiya." He replied in a low voice.

Advait inhaled a breath, "Okay then why did you always ignore my words?"

"Sorry." He replied his voice was just above a whisper. His eyes were fixed on the floor.

Advait gently cupped his cheeks and made him look up at him, "I didn't ask for your apologies beta. I want an answer."

"Mai kabhi ignore nahi karta saari baate maanta hoon bas aaj nahi maani phir bhi aap bol rahe ho mai kabhi aapki baat nahi maanta." He replied with teary eyes.

"Aaj kyu nahi maani phir? Maine mana kiya tha na bina security ke bahar jaane ke liye? Dubara wall cross karne ke liye?" Advait said his voice was calm.

He again looked down blinking away his tears.

"Why did you bunk?" Advait asked but got no response.

"Kyunki Vani aaj school nahi aayi thi right?" He further asked.

Aditya meekly nodded his head.

Advait sighed, "Vani nahi aayegi to tu padhai nahi karega?"

Aditya didn't reply.

"Should I transfer you in an another school?" Advait firmly asked this time.

Aditya instantly looked up shaking his head vigorously, "No bhaiya, please."

"I'll never do it again. I'll focus on my studies promise. Please don't do this." He pleaded.

"I want you to focus on your studies not on Vani. Do you understand me?" Advait asked.

Aditya's expression turned sad to guilty and he nodded.

"Har cheez ki age aur time hota hai aur abhi tera teri studies par focus karne ka time hai and I expect the same from you." Advait stated.

Aditya looked at him with a blank look.

"Jin dosto ke sath bunk par gaya tha unse dur reh. I don't want to see you around any bad company." Advait said making him nod in response.

"Adi, I don't want any repeat of the today's stunt. If you ever bunked your classes or put your safety at the risk, I'll surely break your legs." Advait warned him.

Aditya shivered slightly but nodded his head, "I won't do it again."

Advait kissed his forehead, "Mere paas tum teeno ke alawa aur koi nahi hai aur tumhe safe rakhne ke liye agar mujhe tum logo ki nazron me bura bhi banna pade to I'm ready."

Aditya hugged him tightly, "Aap bure nahi ho aap bohot ache ho bhaiya. I'm sorry mai dubara kabhi aisa nahi karunga."

Advait hugged him back and kissed the side of his head, "mera bachha."

Abhishek was in his room talking to his friend, Akash on the phone. He was looking nervous.

"Yaar mujhe bohot dar lag raha hai agar bhaiya nahi maane to." Abhishek said.

"Kuch nahi hoga bro ek baar unse puch kar to dekh." Akash replied from the other side.

"Mujhe to lag raha hai wo nahi maanenge." Abhishek said.

"Tu faltu sochna band kar aur jakar bhaiya se puch." Akash yelled.

"Ok OK chilla mat jaa raha hoon." He replied.

"All the best." Akash said.

"Hmm." Abhishek replied and hang up the call.

Abhishek chewed on his lower lip in nervousness and left the room after grabbing a sheet from his bag. He made his way to the Advait's study as he knew he must be in his study at this time.

He stood outside the study room and joined his hands while looking up hoping to get the permission. He gently knocked on the door and a faint voice came from the inside.

He entered the study and silently stood in front of Advait who was busy working on his laptop.

Advait looked up from his laptop and slightly smiled seeing Abhishek.

"Kya hua, Abhi?" He asked warmly.

Abhishek stepped forward and put a sheet on the table in front of Advait.

Advait raised his brow silently asking 'what is this?'

Abhishek replied, "Accountancy test paper hai, bhaiya."

Advait picked up the sheet and thoroughly looked at it.

"47 out of 50, impressive." Advait replied.

"I'm so proud of you." He added smiling at him.

"Thank you, bhaiya." Abhishek beamed in joy as his plan was working.

Advait studied him for a moment and said, "Kya chahiye?"

Abhishek startled, "Ji?"

"Kya chahiye?" Advait again repeated.

"Aapko kaise pata chala?" Abhishek asked after being caught.

Advait chuckled at his dumbness, "One week purana test paper aaj dikhaya jaa raha hai to kuch to chahiye hoga na."

Abhishek gave him a sheepish smile and scratched the back of his neck in embarrassment.

"Bataiye ab kya chahiye sir?" Advait asked.

"Permission chahiye thi." Abhishek meekly replied.

"Hmm kis cheez ki?" Advait tilted his head.

"Akash ka birthday hai kal uski birthday party me jane ki." He replied.

Advait leaned back on his chair and folded his arms over his chest, "Location and timings?"

Abhishek fidgeted his fingers as it was the hardest part, "Uske ghar par hi hai bhaiya." He confidently replied, "Umm at 9 p.m."

Advait raised his brow, "Night party hai?"

He slowly nodded his head making an innocent face.

"Nahi jaana." Advait sat up straight.

"Bhaiya please jaane dijiye mai jaldi aa jaunga pakka." Abhishek pleaded showing his puppy eyes.

"Nahi Abhi, night party ke liye allow nahi kar sakta mai." He replied and again got focused on his work.

"Bhaiya please bas is baar allow kar dein next time nahi bolunga please." He again pleaded.

"No." Advait replied without looking up.

Abhishek looked down thinking of an idea to get the permission.

He looked at Advait and tried for the last time, "Bhaiya please jaane dijiye na Akash mera best friend hai mai nahi jaunga to wo mujhse naraaz ho jayega."

Advait didn't reply, his focused was entirely on the laptop screen.

"Please bhaiya." He again said.

Advait snapped up his head at him and gave him a sharp look, "Ek baar mana kar diya na maine."

Abhishek looked at him with a last hopeful eyes to melt him but Advait was adamant.

"Leave." Advait ordered.

Abhishek sulked and left the room sadly.

He went to his room and slumped on the bed on his stomach. He was very upset, he already knew that Advait would never allow him for a night party but there was a little hope in his heart but now it was also shattered.

Just then his phone ringed and he picked up the call after looking at the caller I'd.

"Ha bol?" Abhishek said, his sadness was evident in his voice.

"Kya hua itna upset kyu sound kar raha hai? Permission mili?" Akash's voice was cut through the phone.

"Nahi mili yaar bhaiya ne mana kar diya." He replied.

"Aree yaar dekh tune mujhe promise kiya tha tu aayega." Akash said.

"Bhaiya ne mana kar diya to isme mai kya karu yaar." Abhishek replied in irritation.

"Sneak out karle." Akash replied casually.

Abhishek gritted his teeth, "Ek kaam kar tu phone rakh de tera dimag ghoom gaya hai."

"Mai serious hu bro permission nahi mili to sneak out karle." He again said.

"Tu pagal hai? Bhaiya meri jaan nikal lenge." Abhishek snapped at him.

"Wo tab na jab tu pakda jayega chup chap raat me sneak out karna aur ghar jaldi wapas aa jana kisi ko kuch pata nahi chalega." Akash said in a hushed voice.

Abhishek thought for a minute, "Nahi yaar sneak out nahi mai bhaiya se hi dubara puchne ka try karta hu."

Akash, "Kar le try lekin agar bhaiya na maane to dusra plan ready hai."

Abhishek sighed, "Hmm bye."

"Bye." Akash replied and hung up.

Abhishek started thinking about Akash's idea. He really wanted to attend his birthday party but not in this way. But Advait didn't leave him with no other option. He shook his head getting frustrated by different thoughts swirling around in his mind and buried his head in the pillow.
