Chapter 64
It was afternoon, the household members were in their rooms. Kalyani emerged in the living room, She was burning from inside due to anger.
She already had the problem with the kids and now one more member added to her list. She was planning on marry Advait to a girl of his standard who can match their class.
She wanted to chose the girl by herself so that she'd manipulate her against the kids and provoked her in throwing them out of the house.
But the entry of Shreya ruined her plan and now her heart was gnawing.
Her eyes caught Shreya's glimpse who was practically running while stuffing some sheets under her bag. She was dressed in a simple kurti pairing up with jean, a light scarf was hanging in her hand.
"Itni jaldi me kahan jaa rahi ho?" Kalyani asked halting her steps.
"Dadi, wo mere college se important notice aaya hai ek project submission ka islie college jaa rahi hoon." She explained.
Kalyani glared stepping forward towards her, "Kal hi shaadi huyi hai na tumhari?" Her tone was sharp.
Shreya nodded hesitantly, "Ji."
"Aur aaj se college jana bhi shuru kar diya tumne?" She said sharply.
"Kisse puch kar jaa rahi ho?" She further asked.
"Maine inko inform kar diya hai." She said referring to Advait.
"Inform kiya hai ya permission li hai?" Kalyani hardened her tone.
"Inform kiya hai, mai bacchi nahi hoon jo apne kaam karne ke liye sabse permission lungi." She replied, "Ye roj office mujhse permission le kar jayenge? Nahi naa to phir ye rule sirf aurton ke liye hi kyun?" Her tone was firm but not disrespectful.
Kalyani looked at her from head to toe before asking, "Ye kya pehna hai?"
Shreya looked at herself, "Humare yahan isey kurti kehte hain... aur aapke yahan?" She asked giving her a polite smile.
"Mere aage ye jubaan mat chalana." Kalyani warned.
Kalyani scoffed looking at her college bag, "Shaadi ho gayi hai na ab kya jarurat hai iss padhai likhai ki... ghar me raho ab tumhara kaam hai mere pote ko sambhalne ka ye college band karo." She scolded like a typical mother-in-law.
Shreya looked at her wrist watch and again at her face, "Please baaki ka poora gyaan college se aane ke baad abhi mujhe bohot late ho raha hai." She said and ran away from there rising Kalyani's temperature.
She sat down on the sofa and gulped down the water to cool her anger. That was when her eyes landed on Arush who was going to the garden with a football in his hand. He was walking while tossing the ball in the air. Kalyani smirked slightly as her mind lightened up with an devilish idea.
She got up and stood in front of Arush pausing him in his track. He looked up at her blinking his eyes in confusion as they had never been communicated with each other before.
"Football khelne jaa rahe ho beta?" She forced out her polite voice.
Arush blinked, unsure of what should he do. He slowly nodded.
She forced out a smile, "Arey wah very good."
"Tumhari nayi bhabhi kahan hain?" She asked.
He shrugged as he didn't know.
"Tumhe nahi pata?" She asked intentionally.
He shook his head.
"Oh haan yaad aaya wo to abhi thodi der pehle bahar gayi hain." She said and Arush nodded at the information, "Tumhare bhaiya se milne." She completed earning a reaction from Arush.
"Bhaiya se milne?" He mumbled.
Kalyani nodded.
"Haan tumhare bhaiya aur bhabhi mil kar bahar ghumne jaa rahe hai." She said, her mind was racing to think of the right words to provoke Arush.
"Dono ki nayi nayi shaadi huyi hai na to ek dusre ke saath time spent karna chahte honge." She smirked.
But her smirk faded when Arush spoke up, "Sahi kiya ghar par aa kar to bhaiya mere saath khelenge phir bhabhi ko time nahi milta."
She gritted out her teeth, "Tumhare saath khelenge?
Bilkul bhi nahi ab to uske paas uski wife hai ab wo kisi aur par dhyan kyun dega?
" She said, "Tumhe pata hai? Wife ke aa jane ke baad saara time usi ka ho jata hai.
Saara time, saara pyar sab kuch... Abhi to tumhari bhabhi kal hi aayi hain aur abhi se tumhare bhaiya unke saath ghumne chale gaye wo bhi tum logo ko bina bataye.
" She paused to let her words sink in his mind, "Thode din ruko uske baad to tumhare bhaiya ko yaad bhi nahi rahega kaun Abhishek kaun Aditya aur kaun Arush.
" Her corner of lips twitched up slightly in a disgusting smirk.
Arush's eyes started getting watery, his mind raced thinking of the scenario if his brother forgets him and stops loving him.
His tears were just about to roll down on his cheeks when a voice echoed in the living room.
"Done manipulating a kid?" Aditya asked with sarcasm.
Kalyani turned her head and her eyes flashed with hatred after seeing the face of his favorite grandchild.
"Bhai ye dekho ye kya keh rahi hain." Arush sobbed and complained to Aditya.
"Just ignore her, Aru. It's just her favorite hobby to spit venom." Aditya replied, brushing off his tears.
"Tameez me baat karo." She hissed.
"Do you think you deserve it?" Aditya asked raising his brow with an unfazed look.
She scoffed, "Kaho jo kehna hai tumhare jaise awara ladke se aur ummeed bhi kya kar sakte hain?"
"Mujhe aapki ummeedon par khara utarne ka moka bhi mat dijiye... bardaasht nahi kar payengi." He replied, his voice was steady.
Her chest heaved up and down with the building anger, "Pata hai galti tumhari nahi hai, tumhare andar beh rahe gande khoon ki hai."
Aditya clenched his teeth inside his mouth to suppress the urge to use his colorful vocabulary.
"Aapke bete ka hi khoon hai... ganda ya accha wo to aap decide karengi aakhir mila to aap se hi hai." He replied barely controlling his tongue.
"Aey ladke!" She shouted, "Apni gandi jubaan se mere bete ka naam bhi mat lena... Tum aur tumhare dono bhai mere bete ki aulaad nahi ek paap ho." She spat.
Aditya's anger boiled over, "You fucking mother of your bastard son. Go hell with him." He yelled.
She widened her eyes in disbelief, her hand raised up to hit him. Aditya flinched slightly but the blow never came. He looked up at Kalyani who was fuming in anger glaring at Abhishek who was clutching her wrist tightly.
Abhishek was drilling holes in her body from his eyes, his grip on her wrist was unyielding. She tried to jerk away his hand but he didn't losen his grip.
"Thodi si hi zindagi bachi hai aapke paas.. wo bhi ek haath ke saath kaatna chahti hain?" Abhishek asked, his tone was chill sending shiver run down her spine.
Even Aditya and Arush looked at him in shock as it was rare for them to see their innocent brother in his angry mode.
"Haath choro mera." She again tried to jerked her hand from his grip but he didn't let her hand go.
"Ainda mere bhai par haath uthana to door ki baat agar aisa socha bhi na to ye haath tod kar bahar garden me gaad dunga." He warned dangerously making her gulped.
"Badtameez ladke, mera haath choro." She repeated but he didn't make any movement.
Advait returned early from the office when Shreya called her that she was not going to be in the house. He quickly covered up his work and left for the house to want to be there for the kids as kaka was also on his half day leave due to his personal work.
He stepped into the house and the scene greeted him was inconceivable.
Abhishek was gripping Kalyani's wrist, his eyes were blazing with anger.
Kalyani's face twisted in pain but her eyes were flashing with challenge.
A smirk was curled up on Aditya's mouth while Arush was meekly looking at the scene with a slightly scared expression.
"Kya ho raha hai yahan?" Advait said grabbing the attention.
Arush ran to his brother hiding himself behind him while Aditya composed his reaction, trying to look victim. Kalyani's heart swelled with relief as she did get the chance to belittle the boys in front of him but Abhishek, his grip was still firm on her wrist he didn't remove his eyes off her face.
"Advait accha hua beta tum aa gaye dekho is ladke ko mera haath kitni jor se pakda hua hai aur keh raha hai ki mera haath tod dega." She said quickly so that they couldn't say anything in their defense.
"Tod dunga." Abhishek hissed.
Advait looked over Abhishek and then at his grip, "Leave her hand, Abhi." He commanded.
Abhishek gave her hand a one last tight squeeze before jerking it away. She immediately rubbed her wrist to remove the sting, her wrist had turned red and the bruised had formed due to his merciless grip.
Before Advait could ask anything, Kalyani spoke up, "Advait, tumhare ye bacche mil kar mujhe pareshan kar rahe the arey maine to inse kuch kaha bhi nahi bas mere paas aaye aur kehne lage ki mai yahan se chali jaun ye in logo ko ghar hai aur jab maine mana kiya to ye dekho is ladke ne mere haath ke saath kya kiya. " She blurted out making a story.
The boys looked at her in utter disbelief that how could a person stooped so low.
Advait looked at her and then at his kids, his face was unreadable, "Kya hua tha, Abhi?" He asked Abhishek.
Kalyani narrowed her eyes, gritting her teeth, "Maine bataya na tumhe kya hua tha apni dadi se jyada in par bharosa hai tumhe?"
Abhishek was just glaring at her without saying anything. Advait ignored her words and glared at Abhishek, "Abhi, kuch pucha maine?" His tone was stern.
Abhishek turned his attention to Advait, "I don't know the full story bhaiya but jab mai aaya to ye Adi par haath uthane wali thi maine inka haath rok liya... bas." He said and the next thing he heard a loud shattering sound of a vase, it's pieces was now scattered on the floor.
Everyone flinched.
"Aapne Adi par haath uthaya?" He asked, his voice was deadly calm.
She shivered under his gaze.
"Ad-Advait wo y..." She stuttered but he shouted.
"Aapne mere bete par haath uthaya haan ya na, dadi?" He thundered, his voice was shaking the whole mansion.
She nodded, "Haan par is ladke ne..." She tried to explain but he cut her off.
"Nikaliye is ghar se." He ordered, his voice was controlled.
Kalyani widened her eyes and Aditya smirked.
"Advait maine us par haath uthaya kyunki usne..." She again tried to say but he cut her off.
"Usne kuch bhi kiya ho." He shouted, "Kuch bhi kiya ho but you don't have any right to raise your hand on my kid." He said with finality.
"Bas bohot ho gaya aapka abhi tak aapko bardaasht karta raha, aapki har galti ko ignore karta raha but that was my mistake aapko aapki beti ke saath hi bhej dena chahiye tha magar mai dadu ki wajah se chup raha par ab aur nahi ab hadd paar ho chuki hai.
" His voice was sharp like blade cutting through the tense atmosphere of the room.
"Pack your bags and please leave the house. Driver will drop you at airport." He ordered.
"Tum mujhe mere bete ke ghar se nahi nikaal sakte." She glared with challenge.
"Oh aapke bete ka ghar?" He mocked. "Fine, rahiye phir aap is ghar me mai apni family ke saath old house me shift ho jata hoon.
Jab tak aapka mann kare aap chain se yahan reh sakti hain lekin akele kyunki ab mere bacche aapke saath ek chath ke neeche nahi rahenge.
" He declared and about to go upstairs when Amrinder stopped him who was listening to all this while standing at the distance.
"Tumhe kahi jane ki jarurat nahi hai, Advait. Mai aur Kalyani wapas jaa rahe hain." He said.
"Ye kya keh rahe hain aap?" She sharply looked at him.
"Bas Kalyani, mai bilkul sahi keh raha hoon.
Mujhe yahan tumhe laana hi nahi chahiye tha lekin kya karun tumne kabhi apni zidd ke aage kisi ki chalne hi kahan di hai lekin bas ab chalo wapas.
Bohot tamasha ho gaya ab shaanti se rehne do in bacchon ko, bewajah ki nafrat khatam karo aur chalo yahan se. " He said.
"Mai kahi nahi jaungi." She said and went back to her room.
Amrinder turned at Advait and placed his hand on his shoulder, "Mai aaj hi usey le kar chala jaunga. Don't worry." He said.
Advait closed his eyes, he was feeling terrible for asking his grandfather to leave the house as he always had been his backbone since his childhood.
"I'm sorry dadu but dadi didn't left me with any option." He said.
"It's okay, young men. You are doing what's my son could never." Amrinder replied, his heart was beaming with pride for his grandson.
"Mera sher." Amrinder firmly squeezed his shoulders with pride glinting in his eyes making Advait smiled slightly.
After an hour, Amrinder finally able to convinced Kalyani and they both stuffed their luggage in the car's trunk. Aditya was beaming in joy and practically dragged their luggage out of the house without waiting for anyone's help.
Shreya hugged Amrinder with slightly moist eyes as she had developed a great bond with him in a past few months. Amrinder gifted her familial golden bangles as now she was the daughter-in-law of Malhotra's.
Kalyani didn't spare a glance at anyone and just sat down in the car slamming the door behind her.
Arush was unfazed as he didn't talk with any of them in these months, his bhaiya was enough for him and he didn't need anyone else.
Abhishek passed a small smile to Amrinder from a distance but came forward to touched his feet after receiving a look from Advait.
Finally they both settled down and the car roared on the road.
