Epilogue

One month later

Lily

“Bennet, you really need to work on that stamina,” I call to Sebastian as I climb the last remaining steps of the cathedral.

Since I moved to London permanently, we’ve taken this trip countless times. Sebastian has gotten accustomed to it, usually following close behind me.

Now, though, he’s further back than usual.

I gaze out over the railing, taking in the sight of London in a beautiful sunset.

I’ll never tire of this view.

I still find it just as beautiful as the first time we climbed these steps.

But where the hell is my man?

He’s never this slow anymore.

I turn around, ready to call out to him, when I stop in my tracks, my hands flying up to my mouth as I take in the sight in front of me.

Sebastian, down on one knee, looking more nervous than I’ve ever seen him.

Holding out a box with a ring, I’m not able to look at it just yet, in awe of the man in front of me and what he’s about to do.

“Oh my God,” I whisper.

My heart is pounding hard in my chest.

“Lily Hastings. From the moment I first saw the name Bennet on your back, I’ve wanted to make that our reality. Will you do me the honour of marrying me?”

Cue the tears.

And not the cute ones.

Nope, I’m full-on crying as I nod my head, saying yes to Sebastian as he gets up before he slips the ring onto my finger.

I hiccup as I look at it and realise just how well this man knows me.

I remember seeing this ring—freaking dreaming about it.

From the moment I saw it, I knew it was what I wanted someday.

I didn’t want to say that to Sebastian, though, not knowing if he even wanted marriage.

And especially not this fast.

I’ve never been happier to be proven wrong as I gaze up at him.

He gently takes hold of my face before pressing his lips softly to mine.

“The ring,” I murmur against his lips between kisses. Sebastian winks at me, a proud smile on his lips.

“Yeah. I know my girl.”

I’m gazing down at my hand, the ring catching the light and glittering in the evening sun.

This Cathedral just turned even more special to me.

“Lily Bennet has a rather nice ring to it.”

“Sounds perfect.”
