Chapter 19 #2

She walked into the bedroom. It smelled like it always did. Of Dante. She looked at her hand. She was married. To Dante. For at least four years. Then she could dissolve it like it never happened, and continue with her life.

She collapsed on the bed. Dante’s house had several bedrooms, but none was set up like a guest room or bedroom, so she would have to sleep here. With him. Every night. For four years at least.

Well, that wasn’t true. He did say they could look for a bigger place so that should leave a room to be set up for her. So she would just have to make it until they found a place. How hard could that be?

Would he do it without her or would they go together? She should have some input as she would be there for at least four years. Ugh it was like a broken record in her head. Four years. Four years. Four. Years.

It was like she had received a prison sentence. She guessed it was better than being in a real prison, but by just a little. That was the last thing she remembered as she fell asleep.

Dante came home to find Madison asleep on the bed. She was still wearing what could be called her wedding dress and it had inched up her legs as she slept. He remembered those legs wrapped around his head, waist and over his shoulders. He ran a hand through his hair and let out a shaky breath.

He had gotten what he wanted. He was married to Madison, but from the way she responded it seemed like it would only be long enough to dodge a prison sentence. But it gave him something he didn’t have before.

Time. Time to show Madison how much he loved her. Time for her to come to terms with who he was. Time for her to love him back. Now to convince her to stay married to him.

Dante went into his walk-in closet to take his suit off and threw on jeans and a henley. He left Madison in the bedroom to sleep and headed to the kitchen. The day had been nuts, and he doubted she had eaten so he would prepare something light for her.

He got set to get the things ready to make her toast and scrambled eggs.

When he had spoken to Tony, Dante told him to move some holdings under Madison’s name.

He had also added her to his credit card accounts.

New cards were being mailed for her. In the meantime, she could use his.

He didn’t want her to not have whatever she needed or whatever she wanted.

Dante had a feeling Madison didn’t do little extras for herself, and that was something he was going to do for her during their time together. He sensed her presence and looked up to find her standing at the edge of the living room where it met the kitchen.

He couldn’t stop his eyes from scanning over her body, and his dick hardened. He wanted her. But like when they had first slept together. It was going to have to be her choice. She would have to make the move.

“Hi,” she whispered.

“Hi.”

“I guess I fell asleep.” She shivered under his gaze and ran one hand up and down the opposite arm as if to warm herself up and to keep him away.

“Yeah, no worries. It’s been a day for you. I was going to make you something to eat once you woke up.”

“You don’t have to, I could do it myself.”

“It’s no trouble. I have to make something for myself.”

“True. But it doesn’t mean you have to make extra for me.”

“That’s true, but like I said, it’s no problem. I want to.”

“Ok then. I guess go ahead. I’ll go change out of this.” She tugged at the hem of her dress.”

“That’s nice. Is it one of yours? I don’t remember seeing it before.”

“Yes.” She looked away. “I was keeping it for something special.”

That gave Dante hope, that she chose something special to wear for their wedding. “Where is the pocket in this one?”

“Here.” She flipped up the bottom and showed him the pocket.

Well, he guessed she showed it to him. When she had lifted her dress to show the pocket, she lifted it higher than she would need to in order to show it.

It revealed her lace panties to his eyes.

These ones in a light brown color that hinted at what was underneath.

He could smell her arousal from across the room and her nipples became more visible in the dress. Had she been aroused by him looking at her?

He looked at her face, and it was flushed. Her eyes looked darker, and there was longing, arousal and something else flicker across her face before it disappeared.

“I better go change.” Her voice came out breathy. She was quick to turn around, and he watched her ass as she ran for the bedroom.

She still wanted him in a sexual way. But that wasn’t enough for Dante. He wanted her heart too. He wasn’t opposed to starting their physical relationship up again, but he wanted their friendship back.

She came out a few minutes later. He was scrambling the eggs and the toast had popped up.

“Here let me help you. I don’t expect you to do everything while we’re married.” She came into the kitchen and grabbed plates. She put the toast on each one and went to the fridge for the butter, jam, and honey.

The honey had been something they had picked up at one of their farmer’s market trips. She remembered he liked it drizzled on his toast. She took it all to the table as he served the eggs onto both plates and brought them to the table, where she had already taken a seat.

He placed a plate in front of her and then himself. He looked at her, but her eyes darted away and she picked up a fork and shoveled eggs in her mouth. But then she looked up at him and moaned.

“What did you put in the eggs? They’re amazing.” She went back for more.

Dante was glad he was seated, because when she moaned his dick stood to attention.

“I put in crème fraiche.”

“I’m going to have to start doing that when I make eggs from now on.” She pointed in his direction with her fork. “These are spectacular.”

It wasn’t long before they had finished eating.

“I’ll help you clean up.” Madison pushed her chair back and stood.

She leaned over to get his plate, and her oversize shirt slid down her shoulder, revealing golden skin and the strap of her bra.

Also light brown in color. But what drew his eyes more was her rounded globes hanging from her chest. This time he was sure her nipples hardened, and he looked at her face and it was clear that she knew it happened too.

“Madison.” His voice sounded rough. “We should discuss how our marriage will work.”

She stood up and moved to the sink. “Ok that sounds good. Let me finish cleaning up here, and I’ll meet you in the living room.

Dante went to wait for her and rubbed his hands down his thighs.

They were clammy. He was worried about this talk.

Because of who he was, and what he was a part of, there were certain criteria that needed to be met for his house.

They also needed more space. He would talk to her tonight, but he doubted she would want to share a bed with him, in a platonic way while they looked for a place.

There was nothing that met their needs in the Bianchi holdings so he would need to spend time looking for something along with dodging the charges on his plate.

She came into the room. “Sorry, I went to get socks. I forgot how cold the tile can be sometimes.” She sat down at the other end of the couch and pulled her legs under her.

“Yeah. I can, uh, turn up the heat if you want.” He stood, but she put a hand out to stop him.

“No worries. Wearing socks won’t kill me.” She wrapped her arms around her body. “Ok, so what did you want to say to me?”

“I guess we need to discuss how our marriage will go. Like I said earlier Bianchi’s don’t divorce or annul marriages.

We stay together through the good times and the bad.

But I won’t make it difficult for you if you want to go with either one.

” Hurt passed over her face before it disappeared.

It was so quick he knew he had to have imagined it.

“So what were you thinking then?” She shifted on the cushion.

“That we treat it like a real marriage.”

“Yeah, but real marriages have love.”

It was like an ice pick pierced his heart. She didn’t love him. “True, but it’s been shown with time you can grow to love someone.”

“Maybe, if you say so.” She rubbed her eye. “Ok, a real marriage. I’ll have to think on this. I don’t want to be married, real or not, even if there is love. I think I want to go back to sleep again.” She unfolded from her spot and walked away.

“But sleeping?” Dante asked her back.

She stopped. “We can sleep in the same bed together until we find a bigger place. A bigger place would be better. I could have my own room.” And with that, she walked away.

Dante was fucked. He had hoped to nail some things down like what they each would and wouldn’t be doing, but it looked like the conversation was over without any real questions answered.

****

Madison lay in bed. She was lucky that the mob was efficient, because while Dante had been out, her stuff had arrived.

She had seen it when she ran back to the room after she got wet in front of Dante.

Could he smell her arousal? She was worried she was going to have to wear some of his clothes until hers arrived, but there they sat in a corner of the closet.

She knew she should ask for the annulment when the time came, but she knew she wouldn’t.

At least not right now. She held out hope, because she loved Dante and was hoping maybe he would come to love her like she did him.

Maybe down the line. But how long could you go and still get an annulment?

How long would it take for him to fall in love with her?

If he was, wouldn’t he have fallen in love with her by now?

Was he going to come to bed with her? Or would he wait until she was asleep.

She should have stayed out there to listen to more of what he had to say and what a real marriage meant to him, but it was too late for tonight. She went to shower, but the tub called her name. It had been a long hard day and she wanted to just soak it away.
