CHAPTER ELEVEN #3
"One more thing," Rudraksh said, standing up straight, his expression shifting from a military commander to a fiercely possessive husband. "As Area Commander, I am liaising with civil authorities and base security. Rohan, Faraz."
"Sir?" the tech and comms specialists answered simultaneously.
"I want an isolated, impenetrable digital firewall established around the bungalow and my wife's personal communications," Rudraksh ordered.
"She outranks every civilian and military wife on this base.
If the AWA or the political circles try to drag her into their petty politics, I want to know about it before she does. "
Armaan chuckled, shaking his head. "Boss, with all due respect, I think Bhabhi is perfectly capable of destroying the AWA on her own. She went into that summit looking like she was prepping for an assassination."
A slow, devastatingly proud smile touched Rudraksh’s lips. "I know she is capable, Armaan. But she shouldn't have to be. Get the firewall up."

That evening, the quiet luxury of the ranch-style bungalow offered a reprieve from the relentless demands of the Cantonment.
The teakwood doors were shut against the world. Inside, the lights were dimmed, casting a warm, amber glow over the sprawling living room.
Serena was curled up on the edge of the plush leather sofa, her blazer discarded, the sleeves of her silk blouse rolled up. She had a thick intelligence dossier resting on her lap, but her dark eyes were currently fixed on her husband.
Rudraksh had discarded his uniform jacket and tie.
He sat at the opposite end of the sofa, a tumbler of whiskey resting on his thigh, his long legs stretched out.
The burden of his four command pillars—the GOC duties, the HQ coordination, the civil liaisons, and the training oversight—seemed to physically melt off his broad shoulders the moment he crossed the threshold of their home.
"So," Rudraksh murmured, his deep voice breaking the comfortable silence. He turned his head, his dark eyes locking onto hers, burning with an intense, unwavering heat. "How many casualties did you leave at the Officers' Club today?"
Serena let out a soft, elegant snort, closing her dossier. "Zero casualties. It was a highly bloodless coup. I utilized tactical delegation."
Rudraksh raised a dark eyebrow, taking a slow sip of his whiskey. "Tactical delegation?"
"I let Mrs. Kapoor and Mrs. Sharma chair the Winter Philanthropy Gala," Serena explained, shifting on the sofa so she was facing him. "They want the glory of selecting the floral arrangements and the caterers. I let them have the illusion of total control over the ground execution."
"The illusion," Rudraksh repeated, his lips twitching with amusement. "And what did you keep?"
"Ultimate veto power over the budget and the final guest list forty-eight hours prior to execution," Serena said flawlessly, a sharp, triumphant smile touching her lips.
"They get to do all the tedious logistical work that I despise, and I maintain authority over the perimeter.
They were thrilled, and they are terrified of making a mistake. "
Rudraksh stared at her. The sheer brilliance of his wife never failed to leave him breathless. She had walked into the pinnacle of high society, a world designed to trap and suffocate women, and she had dismantled it in ten minutes flat, bending the hierarchy to her will without raising her voice.
He set his whiskey tumbler down on the coffee table with a solid thud.
Rudraksh moved across the sofa with the speed of a striking viper. Before Serena could even process the movement, his large hands gripped her waist, lifting her effortlessly and pulling her across the leather cushions until she was straddling his lap.
Serena gasped softly, her hands flying up to rest on his broad, hard chest to steady herself.
"You," Rudraksh growled softly, his hands sliding up her back to tangle in the loose, dark waves of her hair, "are the most magnificent, creature God ever put on this earth."
Serena laughed, the sound bright and untethered, ringing beautifully in the quiet bungalow. She leaned down, resting her forehead against his, her dark eyes shining with love. "I am just securing our borders, Major General."
"Secure them," Rudraksh murmured, his thumb stroking the sharp line of her jawline. His gaze dropped to her lips, the fierce, consuming devotion he held for her blazing in the depths of his eyes. "You command the AWA. I command the Cantonment. And I am, irrevocably at your mercy."
Serena’s smile softened into something breathtakingly tender. She slid her arms around his thick neck, the gold bangle of their legacy pressing against his skin. "As it should be, Monarch."
Rudraksh didn't bother with a reply. He captured her lips in a deep, searing kiss, content to let the twenty thousand troops and the endless responsibilities of the base fade into the night.
Here, in the quiet luxury of their sanctuary, the war was over, and the General had surrendered to his storm.
