Chapter Twenty-Nine #3

He withdrew his hand, shifting his hips to settle between her thighs. He guided himself to her entrance, holding her gaze as he slowly, deliberately drove forward, burying himself deep inside her tight, wet heat.

A sharp, breathless cry tore from Arielle’s throat. The physical connection, after so many months of agony and isolation, was overwhelming. She wrapped her legs tightly around his waist, anchoring him to her, taking every inch of his length and pulling him flush against her core.

Enzo stopped moving, squeezing his eyes shut as a ragged, fractured groan ripped from his chest. The sensation of being surrounded by her, of finally being home, was so profound it nearly broke his mind.

He began to move.

It was a slow, punishingly deep rhythm. Enzo withdrew almost before thrusting back in to the hilt, burying himself in her depths over and over again. The slap of their skin echoing in the room was a steady, rhythmic testament to their reunion.

Arielle clung to him, her hands sweeping over his sweat-slicked shoulders.

The friction was agonizingly perfect. Every powerful thrust sent a shockwave of pleasure through her nervous system, building a tight, coiled tension low in her stomach.

She tilted her head back, panting, completely surrendered to his dominance.

Enzo’s control began to violently fray. The slow, reverent pace fractured, replaced by a desperate, feral need to brand her as his own.

His thrusts became harder, faster, driving into her with a relentless, consuming power that shook the wooden frame of the bed.

He kissed her deeply, his tongue mimicking the brutal, frantic rhythm of his hips, swallowing the soft, high-pitched moans falling from her lips.

"Enzo, please," Arielle gasped, thrashing beneath him, the tension winding so tight she felt as though she might shatter into a million pieces. "Please."

"Let go for me, cara," Enzo grunted, his own breathing ragged and desperate, his thumb slipping down to press directly against her clitoris as he continued to thrust. "Come for me."

The combination of the deep, relentless penetration and the sharp, targeted pressure pushed Arielle over the edge.

She screamed his name, her back arching violently off the mattress as a blinding, explosive climax ripped through her body. The sheer, overwhelming intensity of her release milked him, her internal muscles contracting fiercely around his length.

The sensation destroyed Enzo’s remaining restraint. He let out a harsh, guttural roar, driving into her one final, impossibly deep time, his entire body shuddering violently as he emptied himself into her.

He collapsed against her, his chest heaving as he buried his face in the crook of her neck, trying to steady his ragged breathing.

He wrapped his arms around her, pulling her small, delicate frame flush against his side, tangling their legs beneath the sheets.

Arielle rested her head on his shoulder, her fingers lazily tracing the sweat-dampened muscle of his chest, both of them blissfully, beautifully consumed by the peace they had fought so hard to reclaim.

The following morning, the northern sun crested over the rolling Italian hills, casting a brilliant, warm light through the uncurtained windows of the master bedroom.

The mechanical hum of the syndicate servers down the hall was muted, overpowered by the faint, cheerful chirping of the birds outside.

Enzo’s eyes fluttered open.

He didn't wake up with a gasp. He wasn't drenched in cold sweat, and his heart wasn't hammering a frantic, terrified rhythm against his ribs. He blinked against the sunlight, a profound, disorienting stillness settling over his mind.

He turned his head to look at the clock resting on the nightstand. It was past nine in the morning.

Enzo let out a slow, wondering breath. He had slept for over eight hours. It was the first night in more than a year that he had closed his eyes and experienced absolutely nothing but peaceful oblivion. The nightmares were completely, unequivocally dead.

He looked down.

Arielle was curled securely against his side, her head resting on his chest, her hair splayed wildly across his collarbone. She was deeply asleep, her breathing slow and even, her arm thrown casually across his torso.

As if sensing his gaze, she stirred. She stretched languidly against the sheets, letting out a soft, contented sigh before opening her silver-gray eyes.

She looked up at him. The shadows were gone. The fear, the hesitation, the quiet sorrow that had clouded her gaze for months had vanished. She looked utterly, breathtakingly radiant. A brilliant, lazy smile touched her lips as she propped her chin on his chest.

"Good morning," Arielle murmured, her voice thick with sleep and satisfaction.

Enzo looked at the woman in his arms, feeling a soaring, limitless warmth expanding in his chest. He was a man who had burned his own world down, only to be handed the blueprint to build a paradise.

He leaned down, pressing a soft, lingering kiss to her lips, knowing that he had finally, truly, found his peace.

"Good morning, my love," Enzo whispered, pulling her closer, ready to spend the rest of his life building the balcony by the sea.
