Epilogue

Tiziano Constanzo

Six years later...

We were at our house, gathered around a large table in the garden on the estate.

The table was full of delicious dishes, all traditional Italian food.

She sat beside me, with her radiant smile that had never ceased to enchant me.

Gael and Isabella, our children, ran through the garden, playing with the other family members.

Beside me, Carlo smiled, a glass of wine in his hand, exchanging looks with Enzo, who sat across from him.

Alessandro was talking to Marco about some project, laughing as always.

My uncle Luigi, older now but with the same wisdom, watched everything with that proud look.

He had always believed in me, even when I couldn’t see the way forward.

And now, I saw in his eyes the respect that had been built over the years, and I knew that, even in silence, he was satisfied with everything we had achieved.

I looked at Bianca, who was sitting beside me.

She was the reason for all of this. She had always been the beacon in my life, the light that pushed away the shadows of the mafia and brought me moments of peace.

She and our children, Gael and Isabella, were my true family, and that meant more to me than any power or wealth I possessed.

“Daddy!” Isabella’s excited voice pulled me from my thoughts. She ran through the garden, her golden curls bouncing as she tried to catch Gael, who, at three years old, held a ball almost as big as he was.

I stood with a smile, watching the two of them play. Isabella, with her bright eyes and her mother’s beautiful face, and Gael, with his endless energy and already noticeable stubbornness, which he had undoubtedly inherited from me.

“You two, no running near the fountain!” Bianca called from the table, her voice blending authority and affection.

I sat beside her, pulling her close, and kissed her forehead. Her perfume was the same one that had won me over years ago, soft and sweet but with an unmistakable strength. It was the scent of home, of family, of love.

“Did you ever imagine this?” I asked, watching the children have fun as the sun began to set.

Bianca looked at me, a soft smile on her lips.

“Not in my wildest dreams,” she replied with a beautiful smile, the same smile I loved so much. “But at the same time, I can’t imagine anything different.”

The past seemed distant now, like a shadow that no longer had power over us. Revenge, hatred, scars, all of it had given way to something greater. Something real: love, family, redemption.

“You are my greatest achievement, Bianca,” I said. “Nothing in this world makes me happier than seeing you and our children like this, safe and happy.”

She touched my hand, her eyes meeting mine.

“I will always fight for you. For us.”

The life we had built wasn’t perfect, but it was ours. And with her by my side, everything seemed possible. When I looked at our children laughing and running through the garden, and felt her warmth beside me, I knew we had finally found what we had always been searching for. Peace. Love. Family.

“Tiziano, get up,” Carlo said with a smile, raising his glass of wine. “It’s time for a toast.”

I stood, picked up my glass, and looked at Bianca with a smile.

“To family, to love, and to the future we are building together,” I said.

Bianca raised her glass too, her eyes fixed on mine, and everyone around us did the same, lifting their glasses in a silent toast.

“To our family,” she said, her voice full of love, her expression as serene as the life we had created.

“To our roots, to our legacy, and to the life we will continue sharing,” I added, kissing her softly, but with all the intensity she awakened in me.

The sound of glasses clinking echoed through the room, and there, among the people who mattered most to us, I knew there was nothing left to fear. The past, with all its shadows, had been left behind. The future, with Bianca and our children, was the only path that mattered now.

And, for the first time in my life, I knew we were exactly where we were meant to be.

The End.
