Chapter 16 - The Marking of the White Wolf

The chamber was bathed in moonlight, silver spilling across the polished wooden floor. My heartbeat raced as Manik's hands held mine, steadying me, anchoring me to the moment. "Are you ready?" he asked, voice low and firm.

I swallowed hard, nodding, though fear trembled through me. "I trust you."

The kiss to my neck, the press of his fangs, was brief, but the surge that followed was immediate and overwhelming. Pleasure flared through me, deep, intense, washing through every nerve, every pulse of my being.

Shadow pressed closer to me within Manik, protective and insistent, and I felt it—something more stirring within me, a presence I hadn't fully felt before. Agnis.

And then it came—the pain. Sharp, deep, and unrelenting.

My body trembled as if it were being remade from the inside.

Bones shifted, sinew stretched, and my muscles screamed.

My mind reeled at the sensations, every nerve aflame.

I gasped, clutching at the edge of the table, letting out a low cry. "Manik..."

"I feel it," he murmured into my mind, amber eyes glowing with intensity. "I'm here. I'm with you. Don't fight it."

The pain surged higher, and I felt myself elongating, changing, energy spiraling outward like wildfire.

My chest heaved as a faint silver-blue glow shimmered in my eyes. It was no longer subtle; my body was transforming, bone and flesh stretching into something both terrifying and majestic.

The pack could sense it, even if they didn't fully understand.

Cabir froze mid-step, Alya pressed her hands to her mouth, Mukti and Abhimanyu exchanged alarmed glances. Raj and Neyonika's eyes widened in awe, and even from the corner, they could feel the seismic shift of energy.

Minutes passed like hours. Each one brought excruciating pain, yet there was a strange beauty to it, a rhythm, a connection.

Manik pressed closer, his presence steady and grounding, while Agnis whispered beneath my consciousness, brushing my mind with wonder, curiosity, and power.

I realized that for the first time, I was fully aware of my wolf, her strength, her instinct, her connection to me.

When the transformation completed, I stood—or rather, rose—on four legs. The chamber went silent, save for the faint, commanding hiss of my breath.

Agnis' form was breathtaking: a colossal white wolf, with silver streaks glinting in the moonlight, eyes sharp, intelligent, and full of unspoken power.

The moment was so overwhelming that every member of the pack instinctively knelt, heads bowed before her. I didn't understand why—it just happened. It was instinct, a recognition of a force beyond them.

Manik remained standing in his human form, eyes locked on Agnis, his chest heaving, amber-golden gaze alight with awe.

Without thinking, he reached for her, hands resting on her shoulders. Agnis purred, pressing her head into him, nudging him with the warmth of her presence, a silent acknowledgement of trust and connection.

A laugh rumbled from Manik as he leaned into her, marvelling at the raw beauty and majesty of her form.

Then, almost instinctively, he let Shadow take control. Within moments, his body blurred and reformed, sleek black fur rippling as he rose to his full wolf form. His red eyes glowed, fierce and protective, and the pack gasped again.

Shadow approached Agnis slowly, circling her, assessing, acknowledging. Then the two wolves met, bodies brushing, noses touching, testing boundaries.

And as they did, something incredible happened. Golden streaks began to form along the black fur of Manik's wolf, highlighting the raw energy and strength of the Alpha King, a visible manifestation of the bond between him and the White Wolf before him.

Agnis purred in approval, brushing against Shadow with quiet curiosity, while he responded with a growl of cautious reverence.

The pack's awe deepened. They still knelt, eyes wide, not fully understanding the scope of what had happened, yet recognising the magnitude of it.

The Alpha King and the first White Wolf in 10,000 years stood before them, united, powerful, and majestic.

I breathed heavily, feeling the last pulses of transformation settle through me. Shadow still pressed close within me, but I could feel Agnis fully now, free and aware.

My mind brushed against Manik's for the first time without restraint, a flurry of connection and intimacy that left me trembling. "I... I can feel you," I whispered, voice low, reverent.

"And I can feel you," he replied, his thoughts brushing mine like a hand over my consciousness. The wolves, the mate bond, the magic of the night—all converged into one perfect, intimate pulse of connection.

The moment was endless yet fleeting, awe-inspiring yet intimate.

And in the quiet aftermath, I realised that this—Manik, Shadow, Agnis, and the pack around us—was the first true chapter of a bond that would change everything.
