Chapter 44
Author's POV :
Vayansh looked into her eyes as he moved away from her.
He chuckled and said "Look at your face, my sweet. Your words and body language are not matching at all. Look how pale your face appears right now."
She didn't meet his eyes as she stuttered "N..no. It doesn't matter. I don't want to see you."
She wants him away because her mask was falling apart and soon.. if he didn't go away she would break in front of him which she can't afford to do.
"You don't want me to go, jaan."
Her throat wobbled as she shook her head, she was on the verge of crying.
"L..leave, leave, leave." She repeated again and again and started to push him towards the door.
But her efforts went in vain when Vayansh grabbed her hands and pinned them both to the wall.
A gasp left her mouth as her eyes widened in shock.
"I am not leaving you here alone in this condition." He gritted.
His words made her realise that he knows.
He knows.
He knows she is hurt.
He knows she is broken.
He knows she is going to cry again.
He knows everything.
Yet....
Yet he hid so many things from her.
Yet he lied about his identity.
They both were staring at each other which turned into an unsaid competition.
Aarohi's breath hitched when he moved closer to her, so close that their breaths were mixed, so close that his chest was almost touching hers.
She felt dizzy smelling his usual perfume which smells like home to her.
She was about to close her eyes when they both startled hearing a weak bark.
Vayansh was surprised and looked back to find a small, very small puppy and Aarohi took that opportunity in her favour and pushed him away.
She didn't give him a chance to react as she ran towards her bed taking the puppy in her arms she moved back.
Vayansh asked, a little surprised but he didn't show it on his face "A dog?"
"Don't call him a dog. His name is vivi." She sounds offended.
He chuckled and said "I see. Vivi? Really?"
He thought 'A name full of life.... What else can I expect from my love?'
His lips slightly curved into a smile which soon faded.
He looked the way she was so careful to hold him and said "Hey, you don't get to bark at me. She is mine so you can't be possessive over her. Only I have that right."
Aarohi's heart flutters hearing him.
He barked again making Vayansh glare at him.
Is he..... Jealous?! Of a dog?!
She hugged the dog more tightly and said "Vayansh, I am giving you a chance to speak because I know you won't leave without explaining so speak whatever you want now and leave."
He started to step closer but stopped when she said "Stay there. If you stepped closer than I won't hear you out."
He sighed getting serious now. He will make everything right.
He started "Jaan, Whatever you saw a few hours ago.... was not wrong. I won't lie to you saying that you were mistaken when you were not. That was me. A devil. A monster....."
Her eyes started to tear up hearing him say that.
She wanted to deny but she didn't know if her voice wouldn't break right now..
He continued "But.. This is me too. The man you saw. you like.... you love. I never pretend in front of you. Whatever I am with you is not my usual personality. Instead it's the opposite.. but it comes naturally to me whenever you are around, when I see you."
If she was not so hurt right now she would have hugged him instantly.
Her arms itched to hug him but she wrapped them tightly around vivi.
"I know I hide a few things from you which I shouldn't but I don't regret it.
Never. Because I know if I have told you that in the beginning you would have never accepted me.
You were not ready, sweetheart. You needed time.
You would have left me in a blink if I had revealed that earlier. . like you are doing right now.."
Her hands turned into fist knowing he is right. But it wouldn't be so easy for her. He doesn't know how her heart is breaking while doing this.
"Also, If you want me behind the bars, you don't have to go to any police station. No one has that power to cage me, my sweet. I am untouchable, above any of this."
Her anger spiked hearing him.
How is he so full of ego?!
Before she could say anything he again spoke "But if you want, you just have to say the words. Only you have that power. So, do you want me in prison, darling?"
A tear escaped her eyes. She couldn't speak as if her tongue was tied.
She knows what he did was wrong but she couldn't see him suffer like that.
He looked deep in her eyes searching for answers and when he got one he continued "You don't. But remember this sweetheart, only you have power over me and I will give you whatever you wish.
If you want me behind the bars, I will be there.
But I can't fulfill your one wish which is to leave you alone. I can't do that."
She finally gathered her courage and said after wiping her tears "Are you done?"
She was so overwhelmed by what he said but she can't trust him. Not again.
Her heart broke into millions of pieces when she saw hurt flash into his eyes which disappeared just as quickly as if appeared.
He was hurt. He knows it's his fault and he deserves it.
A monster like him doesn't deserve a beauty like her.
He again said "I get it you are angry at me but come home please. Don't talk to me but just come home."
It will give him hope.. that everything will be fine sooner rather than later.
She shook her head and said "Now leave Vayansh."
She stepped back when he did something which she never expected.
He fell down on her knees in front of her.
He was kneeling.
He is the king of Jaisalmer and the devil of the underworld.
He never even bows his head in front of anyone but..
He is on his knees for her.
Vivi barked snapping her back in reality.
She hurriedly said "Vayansh what are you doing? Stand up, please."
He looked up at her and requested "jaan, you are the light to my dark world. I have nowhere to go without you. I get to know the meaning of life.... Meaning of love.... when I met you. You are the best thing that ever happened to me. I Love you, Aarohi Vayansh Singh Rathore."
Her knees weakened to the point she thought she would fall. Her heart felt like it would come out of her chest.
She was dying to hear this confession from him.. but she never expected it to turn out to be like this.
He loves her.
He loves her....
A smile formed on her lips as she smiled through tears but soon she came back to reality and that smile disappeared.
She whispered "Ansh.."
"I didn't expect this confession to be like this.." he said.
Me neither.
"As I have planned a proper confession but I needed to tell you this right now, Love." He said.
He planned a confession? Oh God!
She sits on her knees coming to eyes level with him and let the puppy go from her arms then said "Don't make things difficult for me, Vayansh."
He grabbed her hands, kissed both of her knuckles and said "Then come home with me, Love. I can't stay away from you. I will make it up to you. This place is also not safe for you."
She shook her head and mumbled "I can't. You broke my trust, Ansh."
" And I am sorry for that. I know sorry isn't enough. I will do whatever you say." He said with furrowed eyebrows.
She looked into his eyes and said "Then leave me alone. For some time at least."
His grip loosened on her hands.
He looked up at her and nodded.
He said in agreement "Fine. If it is some space that you want then fine. Don't come home but you won't be staying here. It's not safe jaan. I will drop you off at my penthouse or if you are not ok with that than some decent hotel."
She removed her hands from his and shook her head "I am ok here."
"Love.." He insisted.
But seeing she won't agree he sighed and stood to leave unwillingly.
But he stopped in the middle and asked her in his vulnerable tone "Can I kiss you before I leave? Please."
She couldn't resist. She just can't.
She nodded with teary eyes and he covered the distance with long strides, taking her in his arms and crashing his lips on hers.
His one hand possessively rests on her waist while the other find her hair to pull her closer.
He didn't just kiss her lips, he kissed her soul. Leaving the marks of his lips on her soul.
She cried between the kiss.
Neither of them wanted to pull away.
They suck on each other's lips, exploring as much as they can.
But that moment also ended when they needed to catch their breath.
Vayansh rests his forehead on her as they take deep breaths.
Vayansh gently kissed her forehead then said "Never think that I will give up on you. Even if you never forgive me I will keep coming back and apologise until you do, Love."
He didn't wait for her answer and turned towards vivi who was sniffing him now.
He sits and gently pet his head and said "Hey, Take care of my wife until I take her back from you. I am leaving her in your care."
He left after calling two of his guards for Aarohi's safety.

Another sound echoed in the room when Vayansh punched the mirror and it shattered down on the floor by his feet.
He looked at his reflection in the broken mirror showcasing his own situation right now.
His hand was bleeding, hair too messy from his usual self, coat nowhere to be found. He was in just a black shirt and pants which looked wrinkled as well.
This was not him.
He crashed the bottle of alcohol on the floor shattering another glass bottle.
His family who was standing just outside his door were worried as hell. They didn't know exactly what happened but Advik explained the situation as much as he could and they came to the conclusion it is about Aarohi.
Advik connected the dots which indicated what might have happened which he explained to others.
They were not only worried for Vayansh but for Aarohi too.
They wanted to go inside and console him but couldn't find enough courage to do so.
But when the sounds of shattering glasses, fist punching continued to come out of the room they decided to intervene.
Advik knocked on the door multiple times when Vayansh didn't answer.
Advik shouted for Vayansh to hear him "Bhai, please open the door. Everyone is so worried about you, you haven't even eaten anything. Please, Aarohi bhabhi wouldn't like it if you continued to lock and hurt yourself like this. Open the-"
Before Advik could complete the sentence the door of his room was opened and there stood Vayansh.
Everyone was shocked after seeing his condition.
A sob escaped Meenakshi's lips after all he is her son.
Vayansh shouted "GO AWAY!"
