Chapter 7 A Mutual Agreement #2
My bodyguard’s knees crashed into the black fur rug, his eyes glued to mine as his lips crept closer to my center. He lingered there, dragging a finger along my wetness even though he knew his tongue was what I craved.
“Are you going to make your Queen beg?” Annoyance laced my words.
He tilted his head at me, his eyes gleaming with an animalistic hunger, then lifted one of my legs over his shoulder, scooting even closer to my center so I could feel his breath against me.
His eyes speared into mine. “A queen never has to beg.”
Then, he pressed his tongue against me with a brutal intensity, licking me with punishing strokes that had me tipping my head back in ecstasy. I cried out as I felt his mouth wrap around my clit, sucking hard.
My moans intertwined with the crackle of the flames, and I was sure nearly everyone in my palace knew of our mutual agreement from how I cried out when we were together in my quarters.
Fuck it.
They were going to gossip about their queen anyway, best to give them something good to talk about.
“Gods,” I moaned loudly as Landon slipped a finger in me, all the while sucking my clit.
However, my moan turned into a growl when his lips pulled away from mine, but he simply smiled at me with glistening lips.
“Careful, Your Majesty. Isn’t it a crime to speak of any god besides the goddess before me?” He dragged his tongue across his bottom lip, enjoying my pleasure like it was the finest meal he’d ever consumed.
A small laugh escaped me at Landon’s fearlessness to point out my mistake, and I couldn’t help the thrill skittering across my skin at the way he defied me.
“You have two seconds to find a better use for that mouth besides challenging your Queen, or you may find yourself as the Pit’s next victim.”
His eyes widened, but not with fear. Not only did the games we play together stimulate me, but they excited Landon as well. His eyes shone with delight as he lifted my ass and wrapped his hands underneath me. His grip on me was punishing while he moved closer to my center.
“You’re such a bad girl for threatening the one who is on his knees, ready to offer you a mind-shattering release.” I shook with anticipation when he lightly pressed his lips against me, but the moment I tried to grind against his lips, he reared back.
“Landon,” I growled.
He had the audacity to drop my leg from around his shoulder and stand.
Although he was slowly backing away from me, his eyes never left mine.
Anger buzzed through my veins at the prospect of being left high and dry until I saw his hands drop to his belt buckle.
I settled into the chair, arching my back to sit up straight.
My breasts bounced as I moved, and Landon bit his lip while he feverishly watched their hypnotic dance.
Slowly, my bodyguard unzipped his trousers, lowering them inch by inch in a tantalizing private show meant only for his queen. His pants fell around his ankles, then he worked his undergarments down his hips and legs, along with shucking off his boots.
Greeted with the sight of his beautiful hardness, my mouth watered.
Landon was gorgeous, and my tongue darted out to wet my lips as need coursed through my every fiber.
My fingers dug into the velvet armrests—when I was with Landon, I constantly was struggling to keep a solid grip on my leash of control.
A serpentine smile spread across my lips when my bodyguard took off his coat and shirt. Once he was fully naked standing before me, I proceeded with the next command for my bodyguard.
Time to take back control.
“Crawl.” I raised my chin, looking every bit like the queen I was, my spine straight, legs crossed, and arms resting on the plush armrests.
Landon’s lips slightly quirked as he dropped to his knees and started to crawl toward my makeshift throne.
I couldn’t contain the victorious smile sprawling across my red-painted lips.
Bringing men to their knees was intoxicating, but seeing them crawl sent a sickening pleasure through me.
Before I knew it, Landon was right before me. His large hands gripped my crossed knees, forcefully yanking them apart to put me fully on display for him.
“Who said you could close these gorgeous legs? Should I punish you for such defiance, my Queen?” He licked his lips as his gaze stayed latched onto my slick center.
“I’d have it no other way.” I worked my sharp nails through his curly brown hair, twisting his locks as I brought his face to my lips.
This time, Landon’s tongue was much more brutal, punishing, and completely relentless.
He feasted on me like he was a prisoner in my dungeons, and I was his last supper.
My grip on his hair tightened as my head lulled back, and I screamed out while I finally allowed myself to go over the edge.
My bodyguard didn’t come up for air when my climax shattered every inch of my resolve, instead, he continued to punish me with his tongue.
Although I was already gasping for air, I craved more.
“Fuck me, Landon.”
After another moment devouring, he pulled back and planted a kiss against my inner thigh. “With pleasure, my Queen.” He whispered against my skin, swiftly moving to stand.
Landon leaned down, offering me a punishing kiss to taste my pleasure before yanking me up to spin me around.
My knees dug into the soft fabric as my hands latched onto the top edges of the chair.
Landon nudged my legs open wider with his knee, and I felt the tip of him push against my entrance.
I cried out when he thrust into me with one brutal movement.
The stretch his cock provided made me groan, and the room filled with the sound of my ass slapping against him as he pounded into me again and again.
Right when I was close to falling over the edge, Landon purposely slowed down.
I slammed my ass back against him, not allowing him to play one more game with me.
I was a queen on a mission, and that mission was to forget about the worrying events of tonight with one final mind shattering orgasm.
Finally, Landon caved like the good boy he was, slamming into me with a renewed intensity.
When he wrapped my hair around his hand, intensely tugging on it while spanking me with his other hand, I lost it.
The jolt of pain intertwined with his brutal thrusts, making me scream out as my climax tore through me.
My bodyguard called out my name as he found his own release, quickly pulling out of me as I never allowed him to finish inside me.
Which is why I kept extra clothes stocked on the bar cart for this exact occasion—this was not the first time we found our mutual release in one another, nor would it be the last.
Our heavy breathing was the only sound filling the air besides the crackling of the fire, and I looked over my shoulder as I felt a light touch against the base of my spine.
I watched Landon plant a soft kiss against my back, my gaze locking onto the way his cock slightly gleamed with our shared pleasure.
It took what remained of my self-control not to grab and suck him into my mouth.
I stood as quick as I could and grabbed my discarded robe, tying the sash around my waist while I gazed after Landon as he strolled across the room to tug on his pants.
He remained shirtless as he flopped onto the blood-red duvet, and I admired the view of my bodyguard in my bed while I poured us another round of drinks.
“I suppose we should get to the not-so-fun part of our mutual agreement.” I sighed, moving to sit at the edge of the bed. I handed him the amber liquor as I crossed my legs and scooted closer toward him.
Landon leaned onto his elbows, happily accepting the liquor and taking a large swig of it before dropping onto his back again. He ran a hand through his hair, further messing up his curls from when I had my fingers tugging through them.
“I’m afraid I bring you bad news from my recent trip to Ashivire.” He didn’t meet my eye, instead continued to gaze at the canopy above my bed.
My grip tightened around the glass as I tried to hide my nerves, my gaze also roaming up to the sheer black canopy with golden serpents stitched throughout it.
The silence was deafening, leaving me to wonder if Landon would prove his loyalty and share the news Reena told me earlier about a new rebel group.
A flash of brown skin stole my attention away from the canopy, making me shift to look at my bodyguard as he stretched an arm behind his head for support. My gaze flickered over the way his muscles rippled from the movement, sparking another wave of desire between my thighs.
“There is another rebel group forming, with plans of a coup in the works.” He glanced at me out of the corner of his eye. “They are gaining popularity with the residents of Ashivire, and their numbers grow every day.”
I swallowed a breath of relief at my bodyguard’s honesty, instead opting for my signature eye roll as I brought my glass to my lips and muttered into it. “Surprise, surprise, another coup.” I shot back my liquor, shaking my head as the amber liquid burned my throat. “My people bore me.”
I wished more than anything the alcohol soaking into my veins was the smell of the rebels while they begged for their pathetic lives.
Although this wasn’t the first time my people attempted a coup during my reign, it irked me nonetheless.
I’d slit their throats for such a betrayal.
“While I don’t doubt your abilities—” Landon hesitated when my eyes speared into his.
I arched a brow, silently warning him to tread carefully.
“It would be wise not to underestimate the people of Ashivire.” He turned onto his side to face me, cradling his head in his hand. “Their lands were impacted the most by”—he glanced toward the door as he whispered—“your bargain.”
I planted my empty glass on the duvet, stifling my growing irritation by picking at nails.
“I’m aware of what Ashivire used to look like, considering we both hail from those horrid lands.
” I glanced at Landon just in time to see the shadows of his past flicker in his eyes, temporarily dimming their brightness.
“I know how the sands used to be tan, but now are pitch black as if the rolling dunes are filled with ash. I know how there used to be ample food growing at the base of the mountain leading to Morotis, yet there is now nothing but rodents and ashroot for them to feast on. I am aware, Landon, of what my bargain did to my homelands, but I had no idea such damaging effects would plague the mortal lands upon sealing my bargain with the Serpent King.”
My bodyguard’s eyes hardened at my mention of the king, but they softened when he looked at me. He shifted, moving closer to gently trail his fingers against my thigh.
“I don’t blame you for what happened to our lands, my Queen. I am simply relaying what I heard from the residents of Ashivire during my trip.”
I forced myself to take a deep breath, willing the anger rising within me to settle.
“Is there anything else you learned from your visit?”
His fingers stilled against my skin, his lips tightening into a white line as his gaze dropped.
For Serpent’s Sake, what more could there be beyond an attempted coup?
“The rebel leaders plan to cross the border into Morotis in hopes to speak to the Serpent King face to face.” His gaze roamed up to mine, and I smelt the notes of rain—of his sorrow—at the same time I saw it in his eyes.
It wasn’t unusual for Landon to smell of rainfall; he constantly lived in a cloud of sorrow since the day I saved him in Ashivire. However, I caught the way it heightened in this moment as he looked at me.
“They want to gain the king’s favor and use his aid to dethrone you, once and for all,” he whispered, his words nearly swallowed by the roaring fire.
Rattling filled my ears as Ember and Dante descended my arms, awoken by my growing anger. Dante glanced at me, a hint of irritation shining in his scarlet eyes at the fact I had accidentally awoken him from his slumber.
My people are attempting a coup, be nice.
I shot the command down our bond, and I swore Dante rolled his eyes.
Without sparing me another glance, he slithered off the bed and to the chair closest to the fire, curling upon the top once more.
An exasperated huff flew out of me at his attitude, but Ember’s soft hissing drew my attention away from my sassy snake and toward my affectionate one.
She nudged my cheek with her head, the gesture quickly steadying me.
I fixed my attention back on the problem presented to me.
“They won’t make it to the Serpent King’s lair without losing their minds first.”
Landon rolled onto his back, drawing his hands together and steepling his fingers beneath his chin as he stared up at the canopy.
“While that may be true, it is too great a risk to take.”
Ember hissed her agreement as she turned to meet my gaze. Her black eyes gleamed, and I closed my eyes tightly, knowing what that look meant.
Since Ember and I had a mental bond, she always knew what I was thinking.
Thankfully, Landon couldn’t read my mind.
I was happy to keep him in the dark about my plans to continue onward to Morotis to see the Serpent King after I was done slaying the rebels.
I considered telling him, but I didn’t want to argue right now.
My nerves were already fried from the constant panic clawing at my gut from the mere thought of visiting my homelands.
My stomach turned to knots, my mind swiftly fading into the haunting memories of my past.
My room was so dark, because my mother didn’t deem me worthy enough of having a window.
The door rattled as its nine locks clicked into place.
Then, my mother’s footsteps trailed down the hall, leaving me alone with nothing but my books to keep me company.
“Seera?” Landon’s voice tore me from my grim thoughts. “What are you thinking about?” He reached for my hand, but I quickly scooted off the bed, working to swallow the knot of emotion gathering at the back of my throat.
“Nothing,” I replied, avoiding his gaze and instead focusing on Ember as I lightly brushed a finger down her head.
Her gentle hisses and the crackling of the fire helped ease my nerves, but I faintly heard Landon’s exasperated sigh as I approached the flames.
I knew what had to be done, but that didn’t make me hate my plan any less.
“Tomorrow, we leave for Ashivire at first light.”
