Chapter 43 #3
“Oh, my god, sis, you have no idea how much I need this. Are you for real coming back?”
“Just temporarily,” she stressed. “But yes.”
“When? I mean, how soon?”
“I dunno? I got a full-time crew already to take care of this place. That’s who tended the animals when we was in Georgia. I just gotta meet with the contractors to finalize the plans and we can head out on the jet.”
I snorted and rolled my eyes again. “Jet. Jesus, bitch. You are so fucking spoiled.”
“Hard earned success, my friend. Very hard earned.”
The mood shifted. He may not mean that maliciously toward me, but I would forever carry the burden of guilt where he was concerned. My mind constantly pointed out I had no reason not to trust Jackyl, but that didn’t clear my conscious.
“About a week?” she asked. “Two, tops.”
He bowed his full face into his palms and exhaled loudly. “Jesus, fuck, I need this. Oh, my god, you got no idea how bad I need to see you.”
She giggled. “I’ll be there soon enough, Vinny. Now let me go calm down my kids because Piera has them bouncing off the walls.”
“Yeah, okay.”
“Bye. Bye, Dash.”
“Later, Tiny. Bitch.”
“Bye, guys,” he chuckled.
The phone went silent, the screen lighting up to show the call ended. I lowered to my forearm so our faces were level and whispered his name. He groaned and tipped his head to peer out the corner of his eye. Smiling, I petted his short hair, scanning my sight all over his features.
“Piera down, Tiny down, we just gotta face the Serpents. And if things go sideways, I’m sure bitch will let us use his jet.”
Something flickered in his irises, and they began to glow a little brighter as he slowly stood upright, pulling me with him. His hands on my sides, he scooted closer, our chests together. “Don’t gotta worry about that none.”
Taken aback, I was almost too afraid to ask.
“While I was at your place yesterday, I called The Boss.”
My insides shrank and chilled to my core. “What?” I croaked.
“He came out to your place, and I told him about us. He says he’s gonna take care of it and not to worry. We gotta get the gang to the clubhouse this Friday for a meeting.”
A trace of excitement trickled through my blood.
“He’s…is he coming to the house?” I whispered.
I’d spoken to him on the phone several times but, other than Vincent and Jackyl, no one had ever seen him face to face.
Most of the time he addressed us all, it was through a voice mail he sent in a mass text.
He snickered and shook his head. “I seriously doubt that, baby. But he is going to speak to us all at once. He also wants us to get rid of Janelle,” he grumbled and withdrew.
Going to the fridge, he grabbed a beer and twisted off the cap.
“Apparently, she’s spreading more than her legs around the guys. ”
My upper lip curled with disgust. “Oh, shit, no fucking way.”
“Yup.” Smirking mischievously, he strolled to me once more and set the bottle on the counter.
His palm sliding over my cheek, he whispered, “Ain’t no one gonna say nothing.
Boss gonna make sure of it. We don’t gotta worry about that, Letta and the kids are coming home.
” He pulled me closer and lowered his voice.
“And I got the sexiest man alive sleeping next to me every night with our gorgeous little acorn growing upstairs.”
My heartbeat raced and my stomach whirled.
Gently gripping his nape, I tugged and claimed his mouth, trying not to let the chemistry take over since Piera was awake.
One of his hands cupping my ass cheek, I groaned, my cock getting hard, anyway.
Our tongues mingling, my pulse thumping wildly, I grew dizzy at all the changes, changes that were scary but so goddamn exciting.
And so fucking easy! Everything had been so smooth, every transition. Someone as hateful toward the gayness as I had been should have put up a little fight, right? There had been very little resistance in my mind, though. Easy, almost too easy.
Piera screeched from upstairs and her door banged against the wall. A second later, the ceiling was vibrating as she ran for the stairs. “Daddies!” she hollered with a high-pitched scream. “They’re coming home!”
We broke away so he could gawk. “Daddies,” he whispered, the whites showing around his hazel irises. “She…called us Daddies.”
I smiled and planted another quick kiss to his lips, giving his ass a firm pat.
Piera’s bare feet hit the hardwood floors and squeaked as she ran toward us, vibrating with exuberance.
Not even reacting to us in one another’s arms, she climbed onto the stool, breathless, dropping my phone to the surface.
“They’re moving back here! Oh, my god, they’re coming back.”
Winking at his astonished stare, I stepped away to swipe my phone. “I know, that’s pretty dang cool, huh?”
“Oh, my gosh!” she cried, banging her fists. “I can’t believe this.”
I snickered and pocketed my phone, casting him another glance. My focus slowly raking him from head to toe and back, I released a quiet groan. Yeah, one day, I was most certainly putting a ring on his finger.
