"How will I cook if you do this Shahwar?" He turned his head back to his wife who was hugging him from the back while he was trying to make breakfast in the kitchen.

"Don't worry I'll cook." Came her chirpy reply.

"Not happening." He placed the pan back on the stove turning back to lift her up above the kitchen counter and then sat her down over it. "Do not get down now."

The fact that she would never rest and behave like she was some super human was something Rehaan never understood.

As much as Rehaan was skeptical about her physical stamina for doing anything she had always been the opposite.

If it were up to him he'd never let her even go beyond walking.

They were going to leave in an hour for their flight and he wanted her to eat something before they boarded the plane.

"Rehaan?"

"Yes?"

"We never talk about your parents." She hindered her face tilting it slightly.

He knew what she meant, they had always spoken about her father but not his parents and he'd never been to see them even once since their wedding, "There's not much about them actually, my memories with my parents aren't like yours with your abba ji, jaan.

Baba and mom have always been busy with their lives that doesn't really involve me, baba had always wanted a daughter so yes, he's attached to Iraj, I'm glad he is but because he's an extremely money focused man like me he's still never able to make time for us.

And mom, well, she's not like the regular moms. Let's just say that we never really knew what a mom is supposed to do till we were teenagers and we saw how kids who had mothers would behave with them.

By we, I mean Iraj and I. She'll only ever call if she hears any of her friends talking about anything they get to know about us.

She has only ever cared about who baba is.

I don't think she even wanted kids until her friends had their own and then she decided to prove that she's capable of becoming a mother biologically. "

He paused for a moment and then spoke again, "I do love them.

Uh, we've never said that to each other, ever.

They weren't abusive or extremely sensitive, they provided us with every single luxury within a span of few seconds and made sure we both were capable of keeping our pride and honor intact on our own in the world.

They never pronounced it either. They aren't the best but I can't say that they're the worst either.

I can tell you that they aren't very emotional people. "

A long deep breath came and he still continued, "Iraj and I once went to an amusement park that she wanted to go to and I wanted to take her there, mom didn't like such places to be visited, so, when I took her there myself, I think I was sixteen and she was ten, we had an accident on our way back, some men came and gunned our driver to give them the car keys and we, uh, were kind of lost in the city, the driver himself was in on it with those men.

We had a few injuries as they tried to assault us, I carried my sister to the hospital, then called our parents.

Baba couldn't be reached as he was out of country and mom, well she just scolded me a little over the phone for going to the place she disliked and sent another car and money in no time to the hospital for us to be brought home.

" He passed her a smile trying not make her too disturbed by the whole story.

"I want to hug you." He looked at her adorable face, his wife's demands were just like her, unapologetically cute.

"Jaan," He went towards her and lifted her from her waist, "Come here." She happily wrapped her arms around his neck and her legs around his waist as he held her.

"I love you maalik." She rested her head on his shoulder and closed her eyes.

"You are the real maalik, let's be honest Shahwar."

"I don't have shops." She shook her head over his shoulder.

"You rule over Rehaan Kazmi. You don't need shops." She kissed his cheek and he pushed his face into her neck bending a little.

Then someone started to cough out loud and they both looked in the direction of the sound, "I live here too. You can't do this please." Meher passed a tight smile with narrowed eyes.

"Put me down." Shahwar at once whispered into Rehaan's ear and he ignored it holding her the same way.

"Have you no shame. I'm a very single person who even envies couples out on the streets when they hold hands publicly, have mercy on me. I've been trying to stay calm since a while now but-" Meher huffed out loud towards the end.

Shahwar softly pushed her husband's shoulders to make him move his hands away from her waist for letting her stand, "Rehaan!"

He sighed out loud and swiftly placed her on the kitchen stool, "I made you guys breakfast, go to the dining room." Meher said and they both looked at her with shock. "What's that look? I'm a nice person."

"She told me to rot in the cold outside when I was at the porch the other night. That's not what nice people say." Rehaan said out loud and Shahwar gasped throwing deathly glares at her friend.

"In my defense he made you cry, Sheru." She folded her hands over her chest, "But now you're happy so I guess he can eat and drink here." She passed an assuring nod at them.

"Come let's have breakfast." Shahwar stood up and took Rehaan's hand walking towards the dining room passing Meher a huge huff.

Rehaan Kazmi was grinning like a petty victor when his wife pampered him like he was a child feeding him food in front of her friend although it had been his own plan to do that for her.

"A thank you would suffice." Meher sat down across them at the table.

"Be quiet." Shahwar replied before he could thank her.

"Sheru. I did make the breakfast for him." Meher tried to reason.

"Jaan, she made breakfast for us-" Shahwar stuffed the paratha into his mouth before he could finish.

"Sheru, your husband isn't as bad though." Meher knew there was no other way out here to end Shahwar's salty mood towards her, "He makes amazing brownies."

Shahwar's hand almost dropped the fork that was held in it as she stared at Rehaan with complete confusion, "What brownies?"

"I ate them last night. There were so many in the baking tray." Meher added.

"What?" She pouted with force on her lips looking at her husband, "You made brownies for her and, not me?"

"No!" Meher and Rehaan both exclaimed before she could get more upset.

"I made them for you jaan, then you were tired so-"

"So he only brought the pulao for you, which was also very delicious by the way," Meher passed a thumbs up to Rehaan, "And then you both went to bed, I don't know what happened afterwards only married people know about it." She pursed her lips and bit her inner cheek.

"I want the brownie." Shahwar got up leaving Rehaan and Meher at the table going towards the refrigerator to get her husband's homemade brownies that were the most treasured thing for her in the world right now.

"Shahwar, get back, you need to finish the omelette first." Rehaan yelled in the background as she kept on walking.

Taking the entire tray out of the fridge in her hands she came back to the dining room with it, "I don't want the omelette, I'm good." She gave a wide grin gobbling brownies into her mouth.

"What are you doing? You'll get sick. You're not supposed to eat that many Shahwar." Rehaan hurried towards her but she had her mouth full and hands tightly holding the tray.

"Nuh-uh." Her cheeks bulged out due to the excess of brownie intake.

"Give that to me Shahwar, we have to leave in a few minutes anyway, you can't finish them all." He was regretting making them in the first place now.

"They—" Shahwar swallowed whatever was in her mouth and then blinked, "Are mine. All."

"We can buy better ones from Paris. Now leave that." He tried to pull out the tray from her hands.

"No! I'm not leaving these here for Meher. They are mine."

"Give that to me, I'll make more for you when we go home. I promise."

"You have to go to work when we go back Rehaan." She replied sadly.

"Nonsense, we will go for our honeymoon."

Meher started to giggle behind.

"Maalik, aap naukar kyun banna chahtay hain? Kaam pe nahi jayenge toh zewar wali dukaanien bund hojayengi hamesha ke liye." Shahwar shook her head.

(Master, why do you want to become the servant? If you won't go to work then all your jewelry shops will be shut down, for good.)

"But I want to-"

"Take this. We are going back home. And you will go to work. No where else." She passed the tray to him and gave him a stern look which wasn't scary at all.

"I guess we'll have our honeymoon at home then. I think our bedroom would be the best for the hotel room replacement and we can utilize the rest of the house for sightseeing." Rehaan bent down and kissed her nose making Shahwar go shocking pink especially on the cheeks.

Meher was about to faint but tried to keep herself from letting that happen.
