Chapter 29
MYRA
Despite the rod in his mouth, Rian's screams ripped through the room, vibrating Myra's very bones and rattling the healer's instruments. The rush of fear, agony, and anger pierced through the shields Myra had spent so long building over the years.
In a matter of seconds, however, Rian tore through them as if they were nothing, and Myra was helpless to stop him.
She sat beside the frail king as he continued to fight.
Fighting, however, only ever made things worse. A fact she knew only too well by now.
She wiped the sweat from her face. Then, she took a deep breath before reaching for the Frenzian king again. Her gaze dropped to their joined hands where blood stained the back of her hand.
