She was everything I ever wanted. Everything I needed, and she was here right in front of me.
Until she wasn’t.
Dear Rafe,
There are no good words for this. Maybe there never were.
What we had, what we shared last night, mattered.
More than I can explain. More than you probably know.
Last night was the perfect way to say goodbye.
You gave me something no one else ever has.
And I pray the Fates allow me to remember.
But if they don’t, I pray they’ll be merciful and let
our paths cross once more.
And if they don’t, know you left a searing mark on my heart.
One I may not always remember but will feel deep in my soul.
I had to leave like this, Rafe. Please don’t follow me. One day, you might understand. Because not everyone’s fate is written in the stones.
