Chapter 12 The Guest Room
Qin Xiao was carried all the way home in Xu Yong's arms.
Fuck. For no reason, I kind of wanted to ship them.
I pinched myself hard and made myself snap awake.
After I set Xu Yong's suitcase in the guest room, I said offhand,
"Brother Yong, why don't you sleep in the guest room?"
Xu Yong nodded, but Qin Xiao coughed.
He held my hand and said gently,
"I think it's better if Brother Yong sleeps in my room. It'll be easier for him to look after me when I get up at night."
My eyes went wide.
"Then, Husband, where do I stay?"
Qin Xiao pointed at the guest room, face calm.
"You stay in the guest room."
I was just about to nod when Yang Fen cut in.
"No. How can two grown men sleep in one bed? What would people say if this got out?"
Hilarious. The two of them already looked willing.
It was not that old hag's place to object.
I hurried to take her arm and explain.
"Mom, your thinking is just outdated. Qin Xiao is a patient. Xu Yong is a Caregiver. What's wrong with them staying together so it's easier to look after him?
"Look at those old ladies in nursing homes. Aren't girls looking after them up close too? Would other people laugh at them for that?"
At how sensible I sounded, Qin Xiao hurried to nod.
"Xiao Rou is right. I'm just a patient. Mom, you're really overthinking it.
"That's settled. Xiao Rou, hurry and bring Brother Yong's things in, and take yours out."
Qin Xiao seemed to be trying every way he could to drive me out of the room.
I knew the two of them were close to getting together.
No. It had probably already happened.
