Chapter 13 Go Back Home
My Mom called and told me to come home.
She said my younger brother was getting married and needed me back at my parents' place to help.
Yang Fen looked displeased.
"Your parents' home is so far. What are you going back for?
"It's just a wedding. A 200 yuan red envelope and it's done.
"You know Qin Xiao just had surgery, and they still call you back. I think they did it on purpose."
Qin Xiao said it with a calm face.
"Xiao Rou, hurry and go back. Your younger brother's wedding is a big thing.
"I already bought your plane ticket, and I'll transfer you another 20,000 yuan.
"Have a good time at home. Don't worry about me. I have Brother Yong looking after me."
Honestly, Qin Xiao really was generous with me.
I glared at Yang Fen, pleased with myself.

"You foolish boy. Go on, spoil her. You'll suffer for it later."
Xu Yong saw that and chimed in.
"Yang Fen, just let Xiao Rou go. I can look after Qin Xiao."
That made Yang Fen look even unhappier. She shot him a look and snapped.
"Shut your mouth. This is our family business. Is it your place, an outsider, to talk?"
When Yang Fen spoke about Xu Yong that way, Qin Xiao's face clearly showed he was unhappy.
He reached out and tugged Xu Yong's arm, as if coaxing him.
Then he turned to Yang Fen and said coldly,
"Mom, apologize to Brother Yong right now."
Yang Fen froze. She looked as if she had never expected her son to treat her this way over an outsider.
I had not expected it either. The feelings between those two had heated up so fast.
The way Qin Xiao shielded him was far too obvious.
To ease the awkward air, I walked up to Xu Yong and said with a smile,
"Brother Yong, Qin Xiao's Mom didn't mean it. She just ran her mouth. Don't lower yourself to her level."
Xu Yong smiled and said calmly, "It's fine."
Mm. He seemed pretty broad-minded.
No wonder Qin Xiao treated him so well.
