Chapter 9 A New Character?

After the accident earlier, Ollie didn't utter a word. Maybe she senses that I'm still pissed. I mean, I really hate rude people, but something about his looks is superb. He doesn't look like a side character or an extra; is he a new character? I should read the novel again.

Ugh! Never mind, I'll just enjoy the sunset; those people are stressing me out.

*bang!

Where did those beasts come from? I mean, there's still light outside; wait, don't tell me we are nearing the Berkin's border.

I heard there are wolves lurking near the Berkin Village area, but it would take them 20 minutes to reach our location after sensing us.

With that time, we can still get away from them. Then how come they are here?

*thug*

I heard the knights' clamors and the clashing sound of their swords outside when suddenly something hit the carriage, which caused us to flip over.

The door was broken, and I saw a 5-foot-tall black wolf above!

That thing was salivating with red, angry eyes!

My knees were trembling, and I saw Ollie, who was unconscious because of the impact earlier.

I'm still inside the carriage. I'm trapped.

Where should I go? I should protect Ollie.

I saw a knight who tried to stop the wolf, so I quickly jumped out of the carriage.

When I got out, I saw some of the knights were severely injured; blood was everywhere-a horrifying scene!

The wolves are gradually increasing their numbers.

Where are they coming from? I'm pretty sure this road is far from the pack of wolves in the mountains.

Then, I saw a sword in front of me from a dead knight, and I almost vomited because the knight had no head. F*ck!

*Wolves are howling*

I took the sword; thankfully, it was not that heavy. I will protect this carriage until Ollie wakes up. If I remember it right, the wolf's neck is the most vulnerable part of their body, but I can't use this sword forever; they are in a pack; there are too many of them, and it's getting dark.

*crackling fire beside the carriage lantern*

Fire!

The lamp was slowly catching fire because it was broken, so I sprinted toward the front of the carriage.

The broken lamp, the raging fire, and the carriage's interior curtains were all hurled out onto the road by me in a hurry.

The wolf takes a step back after noticing the fire.

When the other knight saw what I was doing, they quickly picked up some wood that was lying by the road and added it to the fire.

As they drew nearer to the flames, they quickly made their own torches.

The wolves didn't let us go; they are still watching us.

*Wolves are howling*

*thunder*

The sky is gloomy, and we can hear thunder. F*ck! Is it going to rain?

The Marquess was busy signing some documents on his desk, making sure that he would finish the paperwork. He heard thunder, then looked outside the window and saw the storm coming. He suddenly felt chills in his arms.

Knock! Knock!

The door opened, and Estefan, the son of the Marquess, came in. He stops his pace when he is already in front of his father.

*THUNDER* *LIGHTNING*

It smells like sunflowers and roses...

What's this? Someone is carrying me; I slowly open my eyes and see him. I can feel his muscles and his sturdy chest; he's too close. I felt coldness, half of my body was on the ground while my upper extremities were on the man's sturdy chest, who's holding me using his left arm.

*chuckles*

The carriage was flipped back, the fire was put out, and I saw that the knights were all unconscious. What happened?

He pointed out the girl on the side of the road; she looks fine, thank goodness. I'm confused. What happened? I recall a wolf charging at us and seeing this man.

*thunder* *raining*

He walks away and stops in the middle of the road. The wolves are circling around him, waiting for the perfect moment to attack him. I saw three large wolves; wait, they don't look like wolves at all; they look more like monsters. I remember that it was those wolves who attacked the carriage!

The rude guy-how did he get here? How did he know I was here?

He was just smiling and calm while the rain was getting heavy and the wind was blowing violently.

This is not a normal storm; it is caused by great magic. Is he the one doing it?

When the wolf was hit by lightning after I saw it leap behind him, I was shocked.

The other wolves started to retreat as they realized what had transpired.

The wolves made the decision to charge in unison, but as soon as they did, lightning struck and killed them all.

The three enormous wolves advance and attack the obnoxious man all at once.

He flew, and with his right hand he threw a massive fireball, while with his left he gathered lightning.

The force he had accumulated was then directed against the enormous wolves.

It was a great power. I saw how the trees and land trembled because of the impact.

So, even though it had a strong impact, I was unaffected because there was a barrier defending me.

He shielded me. This guy is strong.

He walks towards me, wearing his sweet smile, and he caresses my cheeks. He checked to see if I was okay and assured me that I was safe.

*heartbeats* I touch my chest; my heart is beating too fast. Damn, his exit was cool.

*raining* *someone is calling 'Estelle'*

That voice! Vladimir!

He looks in my direction. I was about to explain everything when he suddenly hugged me tightly.

I'm glad Vladimir is here. *Sobs*

The queen was furious because of the unsuccessful attack at the village. The wolves were attracted by the carriage of the House Mullens, which led to their deaths.

Damien looks at Victor, who was jealous of him. He showed him a smirk, and Victor clenched his fists, restraining himself from the provocation.

Damien faces Victor, showing his mischievous grin.

Victor looked at Damien with hatred in his eyes. "If you know, can you piss off?"

*thunder*
