Chapter 20 The Meeting With The King
*chu*
My eyes widened, and he...
KISSED ME!
His lips and my lips are touching; it's a kiss!
I pushed him away and covered my lips with my hands.
*chu!*
He kissed my cheek and smirked. "There, happy?"
*knock* *knock*
"But Estelle, what were you doing in that village?"
*plop!
*plop!
(sound of dripping)
His Majesty summoned me to the palace and requested that I go to the princess because she was unable to leave her room due to her distress. I hastily entered her room and discovered her sitting on the floor, holding a knife in her bleeding hand.
Despite the fact that it's not new to me, I am still worried since she is the princess of the Chrolexia Kingdom. She frequently injures herself as a result of her anger. It is concerning, and what if she makes an attempt at suicide?
I hurried to the closet where she keeps her first aid supplies. I knelt down and went over to her to bandage her wound.
I notice that her eyebrows twitch, a sign of irritation. Why would she be irritated?
I can hear a slight bitterness in her tone; indeed, she doesn't like Lady Mullens. I should be careful with my reply, or else she'll do crazy things again.
Did I? Do I look like it? I was just looking at her from afar. I'm too shy to approach her; she's too amazing for me.
*knock* *knock*
The door was slightly open, and her personal maid, Lea, came in. She bowed and greeted us.
I excused myself in that room. I've always got the impression that the princess has behaved very differently since that day. Compared to when we were 10 years old, she is different now. Prior to turning 12, she was charming and kind, but things have changed. What has become of her?
---------------------------
The princess came first to the hall; she didn't wait for Ramsbury, her escort. She was irritated by the summons, and the king can see it on her face.
The King was merely grinning and gazing down at her daughter as he occupied his magnificent throne.
She was cut off when they heard the door open, and Princess Althea was surprised when she saw Lady Mullens together with his brother Estefan Mullens.
They walked with elegance towards the center and both greeted the King and the Princess.
The King stood up and went down to narrow their distance.
*boogsh* *wind swirling sound*
Althea saw her father smirk and leave her unanswered.
Oh my God! All the leads are here! The female lead, the male lead, and the second male lead! What's going to happen? This is not written in the book!
I backed up a little behind my brother since I could feel Vladimir's menacing glances. Well, I departed abruptly, which was unappreciative of me. I think my justification suffices because it was urgent. I suppose.
I gave him a quick glance, but I soon turned my head away since he was glaring at me like a black panther!
He's mad, I see.
"I knew you would be here! Tower Master, it is an honor for you to come into the palace!"
"I'm not here to make acquaintance, your majesty."
"Oh, come on. Come join us. We will be having a good tea party this afternoon. Follow me to the royal garden."
An hour has passed, and the royal garden is already decorated with beautiful violet jewels and iris flowers. I heard the previous queen loved these kinds of things; maybe the king misses her.
It is well known that Queen Ellena Montgomery is lovely and compassionate. People adored her, and the King thought so highly of her that he gave her the now-lonely and empty Iris Palace as a gift.
Three days after giving birth to the Princess, she passed away. Her passing caused a month of mourning in the Kingdom. While her priceless daughter was growing up to be the crown jewel of this kingdom and living the high life.
"Estelle, are you okay?" I felt my brother's warm hands holding onto mine. His face is worried, so I give him a smile to ease him.
I look at the princess, who was like sneering at me, or am I just imagining things? No, she's the female lead; it's written in the book that she's the nicest person in the Kingdom. She can't be evil, right?
WHAT!?
"Your power is too great, and my daughter can help you neutralize your mana. She's perfect for you."
V-Vlad? He called him Vlad. They are that close to calling him by his nickname? Why is he not saying anything? Is he okay with it? The marriage!?
*thumping heart* why am I f*cking nervous right now?
My eyebrows twitches, the princess voice is quite irritating to hear.
"The thing is, I am simply briefing you for the upcoming meeting next week. The black mist is fast approaching the Red Hawk Wall, where the on-going war against Teras is located.
I've sent a letter warning other kingdoms to watch out for their defense because the Black Mist is getting thicker and stronger." the King added.
My heart sank as I heard his name. What should I do?
Red Hawk Wing is where the leaders are planning and researching the black mist. It's good to have an experience there, but with Damien von Caster? I don't think I can do it.
"This is not funny." Vladimir spoke with a menacing voice. He was still sitting in his chair, but the energy was too much; it was too hard to breathe.
*thunder*
*sound of breaking*
*shaking ground*
The ground is lightly shaking, and the stones are slowly breaking. Even the table and utensils are shaking because of the pressure.
The princess was thrown away by a strong wind, and she fell to the ground. Ramsbury quickly helped the princess, making sure she was safe from Vladimir.
What is this? Are they that close that the King didn't even care what Vladimir would do? I mean, he attacked the princess, for Pete's sake!
*sighs!
Vladimir suddenly stopped the pressure and force with which he had been threatening the King. Then, he takes a sip from his cup.
And he added calmly, "I'll help you end the war, but don't bring Estelle to that cursed land."
The King nods and says, "Understood."
The King looked puzzled and questioned, "Why are you looking for him?"
*cough! I was surprised and coughed without thinking. Vladimir is staring at me with a sneer as I gaze at him, and I frown.
The f*ck!
