Special Chapter 2 Estelle and Gaias Secret
In the midst of the night, everything in the Kingdom of Chlorexia is visible due to the moon's brilliant light. As the night air is chilly, it makes everyone's body tremble.
You can hear the knight patrolling, the wolf howling in the distance, and the sounds of night creatures that resemble a tune that lulls people to sleep.
The clear night sky reflects in the still waters, and the stars shine brightly. Where maple tree leaves fall, the water creates a small wave. Behind the tree, the crickets and the melancholy sobs of a sad maiden blend harmoniously on this quiet night.
Estelle, in her astral form, stated, "Iris is sleeping," while looking at her body, which Iris currently possessed.
Gaia sighs and looks at Iris, who is inside Estelle's body, peacefully sleeping after the war that had happened at the Sanri Village. Then, she looks at Estelle, who is having deep thoughts.
Estelle felt someone was staring at her. "Do I have something on my face?"
Estelle said, "Stating the obvious, I see. Spill the beans, Goddess Gaia."
She was blunt in her question, "I am curious, Lady Estelle. Why did you lie to Iris?" which caused Estelle to grin.
Then she looked at Gaia in her astral form and said, "Lie? Enlighten me."
With bewildered eyes, she explained, "Lady Estelle, that body is yours. However, Iris's soul fragments have converged into yours due to an unknown force and circumstances, which is why the two of you can share a single body. You have the power to control your body,
but you choose to stay in your consciousness formation and just watch what Iris does all these years."
With a hint of coldness in her voice, she questioned, "What is your point?"
In an attempt to reveal Estelle's secret, she said, "I do not see the point why you need to lie to Iris."
The night was quiet, and the crickets were chirping outside. Estelle saw that the bedroom window was open, allowing the chilly breeze to enter. Iris felt a slight chill, and Estelle wrapped a blanket around her.
She continued, "Goddess Gaia, you have my undying respect."
*silence*
"The saintess chosen by the people was now loved, while the saintess with dark power was exiled from the world of Ghradeus and never seen again."
"But it is funny because the saintess with the power of darkness was the real savior. After that, the black mist appeared, and nobody could stop it from multiplying without the power of darkness."
Gaia clarified, "But the light saintess can purify them."
Gaia questioned, "Then, where has the Dark Saintess been all these years?"
With a glance at Iris, Estelle answered, "She was in another world."
She smiled and said, "Yes, Lady Iris has the power of the dark saintess; I have that ability as well."
Gaia says, "Lady Estelle, this is wrong." She looks at her with sorrow in her eyes after coming to realizations.
Offended by the goddess, Lady Estelle immediately defended her position, saying, "How can you say that? Both of us benefit each other! We need each other, Goddess Gaia."
She added in a desperate tone, "You do not understand my situation; Our family needed you the most. They have been expecting a lot from us. I am under pressure. You should have seen my family's smile when they knew I could use your power. Are not you happy for me?"
*silence*
Estelle said, "No, I am sure there was no negative effect," with a hint of fear in her eyes.
"Alright, there is, but I can't tell. It's just I manipulated some of her memories, and something happened, it was mysterious like someone is controlling a great magic. I don't know how, but I thought it was fine since she is living fine without it," she explained.
Goddess Gaia was in disbelief of what's happening, while Lady Estelle was crying. Both of them stop when they hear a light knock from the door.
