Chapter 28
Cole
After asking Greg for his blessing to marry Ellie, I started planning how I was going to do it, and I decided that today would be the day.
I am nervous. Ellie has been so hesitant through every step of our relationship because of how quickly everything has happened.
I’m hoping she doesn’t feel the same way about marrying me as she has everything else.
The baby shower was today; her mom, dad, and I got everything carried inside from our cars, and then they left.
Ellie and I are now about to go to dinner, so I double-check that I have the ring as I go over what I want to say to her in my head while she finishes getting ready.
She comes walking out of the bedroom, and I lose all train of thought.
I’ve always thought Ellie was incredibly beautiful, but each day she seems to glow more.
I’m still staring her up and down. She is wearing a formfitting black maternity dress and some knee-high boots.
My gaze keeps trailing her body as she wanders around.
My cock twitches at about the third time of my looking her over.
Finally, she seems to be done with whatever it was she was trying to do, and she walks over and stands in front of me.
She looks me up and down with a slight smile on her lips.
Her gaze lingers on the outline of my hard cock.
“See something you like?” I ask.
“Maybe.” She shrugs. She still has a slight smile on her lips.
I unbutton my pants and pull them down with my boxers. I start slowly stroking myself because I know what it does to her. Seconds later she deliberately lowers to her knees in front of me.
I grab each side of her head and push my cock into her lips.
She has her lips clenched together, so I take one hand and push down on her chin to force her mouth open.
Once its open enough, I push my cock in.
She looks up at me with a mouth full of my cock, and it’s so hot.
I put my hand back on the side of her head.
I shove myself further into her mouth. She hollows out her cheeks and flattens out her tongue, finally accepting my cock.
I’m so close to coming already. My thrusts get harder the closer I get, and then she starts moaning.
The vibrations from her throat set me off, and I come down her throat.
I pull out of her mouth, put myself back in my pants, and zip up.
I help her stand back up, and I kiss her.
Her makeup is a little smudged, so I grab her hand, pull her into the bathroom, and help her clean up.
Once she’s cleaned up, I ask her, “Are you ready for dinner?” as I give her a kiss on the cheek.
“Yeah, I’m starving.”
“Where we are going is close by, do you want to walk or take the car?”
“Let’s walk. It’s so nice out tonight.”
We walk to the restaurant, and we have an amazing meal.
Everything is delicious, and we share a piece of cake for dessert like we always do.
Now we are walking back home, and I convince Ellie to take the long way so we can go through the park.
The night is beautiful, and it’s the time of night when the park is finally getting quiet, since everyone has gone home.
The closer we get to where I’m going to pop the question, the more anxious I become. I just want this to be perfect for her.
She stops walking and turns to me. “Hey, are you all right?”
“Yeah, I’m fine. Why?”
“You’ve just been really quiet.”
“I’m just enjoying the moment with you,” I say, but I know you can hear the nervous tone in my voice.
“If you say so.” She laughs.
We walk a little further until we are in the perfect spot, and I stop walking. She goes a couple steps further before she realizes I’ve stopped. “Are you sure you are all right?” she asks after she turns to me.
“I’m perfect.” I grab her hands and pull her to me.
“Ellie, I’m so thankful that you are mine.
I love you so much. I know everything with us has been so rushed, but I knew that first night that you were special, and you were meant to be in my life.
” I get down on one knee and grab the ring out of my pocket.
She has tears in her eyes when I glance back up to her. “Ellie, will you marry me?”
She kneels with me and kisses me. We break the kiss, and she has tears streaming down her face.
I wipe them away. She still hasn’t answered me.
Fuck, I did this too soon. I fucked up. This is going to scare her off.
She’s still crying. “Ellie, I’m sorry. I was worried this would be too fast for you.
You don’t need to answer me right now,” I ramble on.
“Cole,” she whispers, and I stop talking and look at her. She is smiling. “Yes.”
“Yes?” I ask.
“Yes, I’ll marry you,” she says with a huge smile on her face.
“You will?” I say, shocked.
“Yes,” she laughs. “Yes, Cole. Of course I want to marry you.”
“Oh, thank fuck,” I sigh out, and then I scoop her up for a hug and kiss. “Come on, I need to get you home.” I practically drag her down the sidewalk.
Ellie
I cannot believe Cole asked me to marry him. I was so shocked it took me a minute to say yes. I could see the fear in his eyes that I hadn’t answered him yet. It was honestly cute to see him so flustered, but I had to put him out of his misery.
We get home, and Cole immediately starts ripping my clothes off and kissing me.
He grabs my hands and pulls me into the bedroom and backs me to the bed.
I fall back on it and scoot back. He crawls on top of me, and then all of a sudden, I feel a gushing between my legs. I’ve never been that wet before.
“What the fuck?” I say, trying to sit up.
“What’s wrong?”
“Turn on the light.”
He gets up and turns on the light, and I look down.
“Oh fuck.”
“What’s wrong, Ellie?”
“I think my water just broke.”
“You think what?” he shouts, clearly panicked.
“I think my water just broke. I felt a gush, and now look at the bed.”
He glances down. “Oh shit. We need to go.”
“We need to change these sheets before we go or else they will be disgusting.”
“Your water just broke, and you are worried about the sheets?” he asks.
“Well, yeah. I am going to feel bad enough as it is, I don’t want to come home to a disgusting bed.”
“How about we go to the hospital, and you can call your mom and ask her to change the sheets, or Bri, or literally any other person except you, the one having the baby?” he says, clearly still freaking out a little.
“All right. Fine. We need my hospital bag.”
“I will grab it. Are you feeling OK?”
“Yeah, I feel fine. I’m a little worried about why my water broke though. It’s a bit early.”
“It is, but I’m sure everything is OK. I’m going to get your bag. You can start calling everyone when we get in the car.”
We rush to the car and make it to the hospital in record time.
They get me into a room and hook me up to the monitors, and a little while later, a doctor comes in.
“Hello, Ellie. Everything looks good on the monitors so far. We are going to keep monitoring you for a bit. The machine shows that you are having some light contractions. Are you feeling anything?” the doctor says.
“I don’t think so?”
“That’s normal. Some women don’t feel much until they get a little more intense.
“Take this time to relax. We will continue to monitor your contractions. Let us know if you need anything.” Then he leaves.
“Can you keep everyone updated for me?” I ask Cole.
“Yes, I will. Your mom is there changing the sheets already, just so you know,” he says, smiling at me.
“Thank you.”
“Wouldn’t want you to worry about stinky sheets when you are trying to deliver my baby.” He laughs.
“Shut up,” I laugh out.
“I can’t even tell you how excited I am to meet her,” he says, smiling at me.
“Me too. We should decide on her name.”
“Well, which one do you like better?”
I think about it for a minute. “I think I like the combination of our mom’s middle names.”
“Me too.” He smiles again.
I suddenly get a pain in my stomach. “Ouch,” I say, rubbing at my stomach.
“What’s wrong?”
“I think it was a contraction.”
“Are you OK?”
“Yeah. It only hurt for a second. I’m OK now.”
“OK. Tell me if you need something, all right?”
“Yes, Cole. I will tell you if I am not OK,” I say, laughing. “Everything is fine, you don’t need to worry.”
I brush some hair off my face, and my ring catches his attention. He follows my hand until I set it back down and then looks into my eyes. “My ring looks so good on your finger,” he says, smiling at me again.
“It does look pretty good, doesn’t it?” I move it around in the light. Then I remember how the night went after he proposed. “Sorry my water broke,” I laugh.
“It’s OK. Baby girl was just excited and wanted to know what all the fuss was about.”
I get another sharp pain in my stomach, and I clench up.
“Another one?” he asks.
“Yeah. Maybe we should call them in just to be sure everything is OK?”
“That’s probably a good idea,” he says as he pushes the call button.
A minute later a nurse comes in. “Did you need something?”
“I keep getting sharp pains, I assume it’s contractions. I just want to make sure—” I clench up again. “There was another one. I just wanted to make sure everything is still OK.”
The nurse looks at the monitors. “It does look like you’ve had a few good ones. Let me talk to the doctor and see what he says.” She leaves again.
“Well, it must not be too alarming, since she didn’t seem to be in a hurry,” I say.
“I’m sure it is totally normal,” Cole says, rubbing my hair out of my face again.
“I love you,” I say to him.
“I love you too, Ellie Girl.”
It has been hours since we walked into this hospital.
The contractions are slowly getting more intense.
The doctor says we are progressing quickly, so he expects the baby to be here in the next few hours.
I feel exhausted, and I haven’t even started pushing yet.
Cole looks as tired as I feel. He hasn’t sat down since we got here, despite me telling him to.
I think he is more freaked out about the baby coming than he will admit.
Another contraction hits, and this is the worst one yet. It forces a groan out of me, and my face is pinched in pain.
“I’m so sorry,” Cole says to me while rubbing a hand on my shoulder.
Once the contraction subsides, I look at him. “Why are you sorry?”
“Because if I could take this pain away from you, I would.”
“Well, it will be over soon,” I say to him.
The doctor comes in and looks at the monitors again. “It’s looking like we are close, are we ready, Mama?” he asks.
“Yes, please,” I say, causing him and Cole to laugh lightly.
“We are going to get everything set up, and it will be time to push. I will be back shortly.” He leaves, and a few minutes later, nurses come in and start getting the room ready for delivery.
Cole is holding my hand and rubbing his thumb over the back of it as I watch the nurses prep. I feel extremely anxious, but the movement of his thumb on my hand is keeping me calm.
A few moments later, the doctor comes back in. “All right, it’s time to meet this baby.”
