Realm Chalice Chaos: Prince Slain, Other Prince Gravely Wounded, Mythrian “Hero” on Run

by Rocklin Thorpe, Voice of Vestriya staff reporter

What do you get when you invite Mythrians to the Realm Chalice? Utter chaos.

The Voice of Vestriya had uncommonly low hopes for the Realm Chalice entering the year’s seminal match for one reason: The sluggish gameplay of

the Farmount Falcons, led by provocateur striker Zevan Wintersmith, whose gameplay is all style and no substance. The Voice was, we dare say, looking forward to critiquing the sloppy form of Wintersmith’s team on the pitch as they contended with

the superb horsemanship of our own Cascara Cleavers.

Unfortunately, neither inexpert ballhandling nor lugubrious passing plays were the worst of what this scribe, not to mention

the entire realm, witnessed on the Realm Chalice pitch. Our crown prince was assassinated. Worse, Mythrians were responsible.

Yes, while this scribe could hardly imagine leaving the stadium holding one of Zevan Wintersmith’s realmsmen in lower esteem than the pompous player himself, none other than Mythrian so-called hero Galwell the so-called Great murdered in cold

royal blood our Prince Ezio, hurling a horseball at the head of the unsuspecting prince. (Nice form, notably. Were Sir Galwell

not prone to political violence, he could have found honest wages on the horseball pitch.)

Reports directly from the crown confirm the younger prince, Ario, was also attacked. How could this happen? In our realm?

I don’t know. I’m a sports scribe, for Ghost’s sake.

What we know for certain comes directly from the Vestriyan crown: Prince Ezio is dead. His brother, Prince Ario, was severely

wounded and is recuperating in his chambers and unresponsive.

In this dark time for Vestriya, we don’t even have horseball to cheer us. The Realm Chalice has been canceled.
