Chapter Eighteen #3

A possessive groan escapes him as his lips meet mine. He lifts me effortlessly, carries me to the bed, and tosses me onto it before climbing over me and straddling my hips.

“Say it again,” he says, commanding and full of authority.

It shouldn’t, but it sends a hot wave of anticipation through me, making my toes curl.

“I need you,” I say, a declaration and total surrender.

In one motion, his hands tear apart the fabric of my camisole, leaving me bare before him. His gaze, heavy with desire, drags slowly over me, lingering and leaving goosebumps in its wake without a single touch.

“Enjoying the view?” I ask in a low, sultry tone.

He grins and leans over me, gripping the back of my neck.

He presses his lips to mine before trailing down and over my chest. His lips wrap around my nipples, and he sucks them sharply into his mouth.

I buck in response, my back arching as I hiss with pleasure.

I can feel his lips rise into a smile as he continues his delicious torment until I’m flushed and panting.

“This view?” He smirks. “Yeah, I’m enjoying it a lot.”

He kisses lower, pausing at my waistband as if asking permission without words. My breath hitches, and I lift my hips. His hands slide my pants and underwear down, letting them fall off the bed, and a shiver races through me as his eyes linger.

“But this view?” he rasps, falling back onto his heels and shaking his head as he looks down at me with awe.

My lips part as my breath catches. My stomach flutters, and a soft laugh escapes me. “You’re staring,” I tease, a warmth filling me from the inside out.

Levi’s eyes light up, and his face softens into a smile filled with something I’m afraid to name.

Chuckling, he shakes his head. “I’m not sure I’ll ever stop,” he admits, his voice laced with raw emotion, every wall torn down until it seems as though he’s as bare as I am, leaving me trembling at how completely he’s letting me in.

Slowly, he removes his pants until there’s nothing left between us.

The early morning light reflects every divot, every plane and valley of muscle that looks as though they were chiseled by the gods of some ancient time.

He looks otherworldly. My eyes follow down his deep, chiseled abdominal muscles where they form a sharp ‘V’ that tapers toward his hips. My eyes widen, and my mouth goes dry.

“Should I grab? Do you have a condom?” he asks, sounding slightly nervous.

“I’ve got an IUD, and I’m clean.” I swallow, finding my voice. “It’s been almost a year since I’ve been with anyone.”

A shadow falls over his eyes, and his chin dips down.

I know what he must be thinking. Of whom he must be thinking.

“Hey,” I say, leaning up onto my elbows and resting my hand on his cheek. “We don’t have to do this. If it’s too soon, or too much, we can stop. I meant what I said. I’m not asking you to let go. I’ll understand.”

He presses my hand further into his cheek and turns his head, kissing the inside of my palm.

“Thank you,” he rasps, the edge of pain still lingering in his tone.

“But I don’t want to miss what’s in front of me.

” His fingers trail across my face, brushing away a strand of hair.

“I can’t let my past keep me from my future.

” He pauses, his brows drawn down as he takes my face in with his eyes, as though he’s memorizing every detail, and pulls me flush against him. “You’re my future.”

Igasp as he devours me. His lips trail up my jaw and claim mine, tilting my head back and driving me into the mattress, his body hovering over me.

His muscles ripple beneath my palms, his size completely encasing me, and a shiver runs through me at the heat and weight of him pressing down.

He lines himself up with my entrance, and in one swift press, he pushes his way into me.

He pauses, stretching me, letting my body catch up.

My breath comes in ragged gasps, every nerve alive, and as I unclench around him, the shock gives way to a burning, insatiable pleasure.

“That’s a good girl,” he praises, and my body responds instantly, as if it were made to be worshipped by him. “Take every inch. You’re too stubborn not to.”

Slowly, he pushes in deeper to the hilt, until he’s fully sheathed inside of me, and I draw in a sharp breath.

“Good fucking girl,” he grunts. “You feel so good, Tris.”

He peppers my neck with kisses and draws circles around my clit, pulling out waves of ecstasy. When my body starts to writhe beneath him, relaxed and no longer able to lie still with the fullness of him, he begins to move.

Moan after moan escapes me as he pulls out and pushes back into me. The sound of our bodies joining fills the room as he grips my hips and drives into me.

“Yes,” I pant. “Just like that. Oh my God.” My vision goes blurry as he moves one hand down between my legs again, his thumb finding that bundle of nerves.

A sob escapes me, and just as I think it’s all too much, his other hand slides up my chest and wraps around my throat.

His hips continue their onslaught of pleasure, but he slows, leaning in closer.

I look up at him through hooded eyes, panting and breathless.

“Do you trust me?” he asks, his voice ragged.

“Yes,” I moan, pressing my hips up to meet his thrusts, breath hitching as he moves faster.

He groans, and his grip tightens around my throat, not enough to cause pain, but enough to send me to the edge. I reach out for him, and his lips meet mine, stealing the breath from my lungs as I give him everything I have. Waves of ecstasy crash through my body as my orgasm rips into me.

Levi doesn’t stop, he doesn’t slow down, his grip remains steady around my throat as I continue to surrender to him. After-shocks shoot through me as my pussy clenches around him. Completely spent, he grinds in deeper, harder, his thumb picking up speed, sending me to the edge once more.

“Levi,” I cry out, voice trembling as I fall again.

“I’ve got you, baby,” he says, bringing his hand to my face as his forehead dips to mine and he falls along with me.

After taking a shower, this time with our clothes off, I text the girls to tell them I need the day off, we care for Ellie’s needs, then fall back into the best sleep of my life.

Sleeping with Levi is like having my own personal heated and weighted blanket.

He wraps himself around me like he’s afraid I’ll disappear.

Even in his sleep, he holds on as if he’ll never let go, and my heart swells.

I’ve never had this before, and it feels like uncharted ground.

We wake and pick up right where we left off. By the end of the day, there isn’t a part of me that he hasn’t claimed as his own.

“I thought you were supposed to be sick,” I giggle as he nuzzles his nose into my neck, breathing me in as his beard tickles softly.

“Never been sick before, but whatever that was, I’m glad it didn’t last,” he says, then bites onto my shoulder.

“Ow!” I gasp, before laughing at his playfulness.

This is a side of him I’ve never seen, but it’s one I can get used to.

Despite it being six in the evening, neither of us has been out of bed all day.

Ellie snores at the foot of his king-sized bed, and I smile, inhaling a long breath of contentment.

I run my fingers through the longer hair on top of Levi’s head as he rests his head on my chest. This makes sense to me. This feels right.

After my phone vibrates for the hundredth time, I reach for it.

“You making us Facebook official already?” Levi mumbles, eyes still closed.

“Are we official enough for Facebook?” I ask, half-teasing, but a part of me is still unsure of what this all means.

The look Levi casts me says it all. His head lifts, and he glares at me, his eyebrows raising before his chin dips down.

“Did I not make that perfectly clear when my head was between your—”

“Okay,” I cut him off, laughing. “I don’t know. I’m just making sure.”

The crease between his brows slowly disappears, and he watches me while I clear my notifications and see I have a few missed calls from Rory.

“I don’t mind making my point again,” he says, a lazy confidence in his gaze that makes my pulse stutter.

“Maybe later,” I promise, wiggling my brows.

He grins. “I kind of like it when your thorns aren’t out, Rose.”

“Oh, gosh, please no pet names,” I groan.

“Ah, come on. Just one,” he presses. “It’s so fitting.”

I stare at him, my jaw tight, my expression fixed in place.

“Fine,” he drawls, realizing I won’t budge.

Ellie’s head pops up as the sound of banging echoes through the house.

“What the hell is that?” I sit up in bed, listening as it happens again.

“Someone’s banging on the door.” Levi figures it out.

“That’s my door.” I realize. “I’ll be right back.”

I brush his lips with mine and step out of bed. He grabs my arm, pulling me to him and stealing one more kiss before I leave and open the front door.

“No freakin’ way.” Rory’s jaw drops as her eyes scan me from head to toe.

Heat rises to my cheeks. I forgot that all I’m wearing is one of Levi’s t-shirts.

“When, how? Oh man, I am so here for this.”

I can see Rory’s mind take off in several directions as she vibrates with excitement in front of me.

“Is he in there? Is he naked? How was it?” Her eyes grow wide, and her lopsided grin takes shape on her face.

“Are you done?” I laugh, shaking my head.

“Yes, now tell me. How?!” She grabs my hands and pulls me out the door like she’s afraid that if she doesn’t, I’ll go back inside and she’ll never know.

“Well, last night he was sick, so I went over and—”

She cuts me off with a bark of laughter. “And what?! You healed him with your magical vagina?!”

My face and ears feel hot, but I laugh despite myself. “Such a brat.”

“Bitch, you went over there to help a sick man and ended up naked. That’s the best thing I’ve ever heard.”

“I’m glad this brings you joy,” I say, letting the words drip with fake enthusiasm.

“So how was it?” she asks, leaning in closer.

“Are you here for a reason?” I ask, covering my face.

“Uh, yeah, you didn’t answer your phone, and I called three times. I have a three-call to a twenty-four-hour span rule. Don’t answer at three, and I’m coming for a wellness check,” she explains. “But clearly someone else has already checked your wellness, so I’ll get going.”

She cackles as she turns to walk down the steps.

“I hope you know I’m telling everyone you two are dating now,” she calls out over her shoulder.

“Of course you are because you’re a menace.”

“Your favorite!”

I laugh because she’s right. “Hey,” I call out before she can close her car door. “Thanks for checking on me.”

“Of course,” she says, smiling warmly. “And Tris, I’m happy for you. You two? It’s a good thing.”

My chest expands, and with a smile, I hum, slowly nodding my head before she drives away.

She’s not the only one who thinks so.
