Chapter Thirteen
Daisy looked at Pope and asked, “Did you take Digger's phone before you put him in that shed?”
Pope nodded at her. “Of course, but why do you ask that?”
“Because I’m betting that my father met with Satan before this morning and knowing him as well as I do I think he gave him a sample of the product.”
Pope went pale as he asked her, “You think your dad is that stupid? If he knows those pills are pure poison, giving them to Satan and his men will kill any deal they might have going. Satan and his men will be dead.”
Daisy nodded. “And I think that was the plan from the beginning. I don’t happen to believe Demon and my brothers would want to work for this at all.
No, they always take the easiest way out or to something.
If my brothers or my dad found those pages with the recipes then they also found the warnings grandma wrote, about mixing the plants.
Demon has been thinking about relocating for a while now.
Even he knows the people around our town are pissed about how they are being treated and it only takes one to cause trouble and bring the state cops in or even the Marshals.
They are federal and that’s something not even Demon can beat. ”
“What are you gonna do with your brother's phone?” Bishop wanted to know.
Daisy looked at him and said, “I know that Satan’s number is on there as Digger always acts as a go-between in the deals Demon makes. I’m going to warn Satan what my father is doing and that if any of his men take the samples that they are going to have to bury them.”
Cardinal shook his head. “Honey, you’re playing with fire there.”
“I’d rather play with fire and get burned than see blood in the streets,” Daisy told them. “Because if Satan is going to go ballistic, it should be on my father, not innocent people. I think it's finally time for my father to face the devil, don’t you?”
Fox shook his head. “Demon, Satan... might as well throw in the devil while we’re at it.”
Pope smirked at this analogy. “But look at who they are up against.”
Fox looked puzzled as he cocked his head at him.
“The Pope, a Cardinal and a Bishop.” Cardinal smiled.
“It is an old story, for sure.” Bishop nodded. “Satan and Demon along with all their minions against heaven’s own.”
“I don’t know about the heaven part,” Torin said as he smirked.
“So you are gonna tell on Demon to Satan?” Thumper asked Daisy as he ignored the name bantering.
The whole room went silent now.
She nodded. “That is exactly what I plan.”
Thumper just stared at her for a minute and shook his head. “Holy shit little girl, you scare me.”
Daisy just sat down and whispered, “I scare me too, but Demon needs to be stopped and stopped hard. My own family tried to kill me because I ran away. I am not a child. I am fully grown. Yet, they believe they owned me. That they own that whole town we lived in. Demon thinks he’s invincible.
He thinks no one can touch him. But I think he needs to run into a brick wall.
Jail doesn’t mean a thing to him. Prison isn’t even a threat to him, because he pays lawyers and judges to bend the law to his side.
No...” She shook her head. “Demon needs to learn the hard way that he isn’t a god and he can’t do half the shit he’s been getting away with.
Even if the law caught him and put him behind bars, he’d find a way to rule that prison.
He would still hurt people from in there.
He always said he’d never be convicted. And he’s been planning his defense from day one and he might be right about charges never sticking.
So he needs to be stopped another way, one that leaves nothing behind.
Let him go to hell, listening to the voices of the people he’s harmed. ”
Pope reached into his pocket and pulled out her brother’s phone. He handed it to Daisy and said, “Before you can use it, you have to unlock it.”
Daisy took the phone and nodded. Then she hit a series of numbers and the phone charged up.
Pope stared at her. “How do you know his password?”
Daisy looked up at him and shrugged. “Don’t be impressed.
Digger is stupid. He only ever uses one password for his crap.
He also thinks no one knows that password but everyone in the house knows it.
Like I said, he’s stupid.” She scrolled through his contacts and stopped on one name.
She took a deep breath then she hit the contact’s name. She put the call on speaker.
Everyone there heard the ring. Then they heard a rough male voice snarl, “Who the fuck is this? I know it ain’t Digger.”
“You’re right I ain’t Digger.” She snarled back. “I’m Demon’s daughter Daisy.”
“You’re with those lousy pussies behind that front gate on top of the mountain aren’t you?” Satan snapped.
“Yeah, I am,” she admitted.
“What the hell are you doing calling me then?”
“I need to tell you something important. And while you might not believe me. But I still need to warn you about the pills Demon gave you to sample his new product.”
“What about them?” Satan asked in a nasty tone. “We’ve been a little busy and haven’t had time to try them yet.”
“Good for you then,” Daisy told him. “I wouldn’t try them at all if I were you.
Those aren’t real drugs, they are pure poison.
And Demon knows it. He has since got the brilliant idea to produce them.
The ingredients in those pills are from a holistic remedy for a lotion and he added something that will kill rather than get you high. ”
“How the fuck do you know that?” Satan growled.
“Because before I ran away I copied his files from his computer and the recipe he used for Midnight Blue was on his computer. My grandmother used to be a healer back in her day and she left my mom her old recipes for lotions and pain killers. Demon disregarded her warnings about putting two of the ingredients together because he didn’t want drugs, he wanted your deaths.
He’s got plans to move his MC and he picked your place as his new home. ”
“He wouldn’t do that, not to me,” Satan grumbled in a low voice.
“Then take the pills,” she challenged. “Personally, I don’t care what you do but you know Demon, you know exactly what he would do.
By giving you and your men those pills he would kill the lot of you and then he would laugh as he watched you die in agony.
Either that or he would set your MC up to take the fall when the people you sell it to started dying.
And if he were linked to the pills he would lie to the cops and tell them he was innocent.
And you know it. Either way, you and your men would be dead or on your way to prison for mass murder. So really it is your funeral.”
“So why are you really telling me all this?” Satan’s voice was slowly calming.
“Because not even you deserve what my father had planned for you,” Daisy told him. “I hate the man but I think you deserve the truth. What you do with the information is up to you but answer me this...” she paused.
Satan growled, “What? What do you want from me?”
“Can you really trust a man like Demon?” Daisy asked him then she ended the call.
Pope, Bishop and Cardinal just shook their heads.
“Girl,” Pope called her out. “You are playing a dangerous game with a man who plays chicken very well.”
Daisy shrugged her shoulders. “He needed to hear the game my father is playing. What he does with that information is up to him.”
“You do realize that he’s going to go right for Demon or one of your brothers, don’t you?” Bishop pointed out.
Daisy didn’t answer him as she turned to Pope and asked, “Do you think you should warn your cop friend? He might want to know why Satan is coming.”
Pope nodded. “Yeah, he knows Satan is coming. But the pill thing is more dire now since we don’t know who else your dad might have given them to.”
Daisy smiled faintly. “I have a feeling we’re gonna find out very soon. Satan is going to want answers and he’s the impatient kind.”
Torin stared at her and asked, “You think he’s coming here before he goes to your father, don’t you?”
Daisy nodded. “I wouldn’t be surprised. Question is how are we going to handle that?”
Bishop growled and asked, “What the hell are you suggesting here?”
Daisy turned her head and said, “I think Satan needs to know exactly what my father had in mind for him. I mean we should print out his file from my father’s computer and give it to him. Let Satan read exactly what my father wrote.”
Pope shook his head. “That’ll cause him to go apeshit crazy, you know that.”
Daisy nodded. “Yeah, I do but at least he’ll go apeshit on the right person.
Maybe my father will learn the hard way that there is someone else out there that doesn’t give a shit about him, that someone else doesn’t kowtow or fall at his feet because Demon Clusoe said so.
That is something my father has never faced before in his life and I think Satan is the right person to do just that. ”
“You realize that Satan might just kill your old man, right?” Hacksaw asked.
“Demon hasn’t been a decent man for most of his life,” Daisy told them with no inflection in her voice.
“He’s always thought he was better, more powerful.
All while he just took and took. He just never cared that he was destroying someone every time he opened his eyes in the morning.
Then he decided that he could take out an entire MC and just step into their businesses.
He was willing to murder thirty men or more when they began selling that poison.
He didn’t care one whit about those men’s lives and that’s on him and my brothers.
They have never faced real consequences either.
I think it's finally time that they do.”
“That might just open a can of whoop ass that never should have been opened.” Cardinal shook his head.
Daisy nodded at him. “That was opened the minute he got this bright idea to poison people.” She then went over to where Fox was monitoring the cameras and held out her hand. “I need the flash drive back.”
Fox looked up at her and asked, “Why?”
Daisy swallowed hard. “Because I have to leave here and get it to someone who will use it against my family.”
Thumper stepped up and said, “We’re doing that. You just have to give us time to verify everything. We can do this and you shouldn’t be there.”
Daisy just stared at him then she said, “I tried to tell Satan but I'm not sure he believed me. Satan might be a hot head. I mean he might be everything we think he is but if he stops to think about it for a moment he’ll realize that this is all on Demon’s head.
Demon is the one behind the scenes that gives the orders.
He’s the one that made the deal. Satan is going to know that Demon lied to him, he was willing to kill his entire MC.
” She sighed hard and went on, “I don’t think Satan is stupid enough to believe everything Demon tells him. ”
Just then, the phone in her pocket rang and Daisy paused.
It was Digger’s phone and she reached inside her pocket and looked at the caller ID.
Then she looked up at Thumper. She held the phone up and Thumper could see Satan’s name on the screen.
Before he could say anything, Daisy opened the call and put it on speaker, “Hello.”
