Chapter 26

CONNOR

The days blurred together. We explored Andalusia. Madars took me to the Alhambra, Córdoba, and Toledo. We spent a couple of nights in Barcelona. Portugal wasn’t far from Sevilla, so we drove up to Lisbon, explored Sintra, and went on a dolphin-watching excursion out of Algarve.

Before I knew it, we were getting into July. Halfway through this amazing time in Spain with Madars. Another three weeks, and I’d be on my way back to Canada while he returned to Switzerland.

After that…

Time would tell, I guess. I wasn’t ready to think that far ahead yet. Not until the end was close enough that we couldn’t keep ignoring it and we had to start having conversations about where we went from here.

For now, we were just going to continue enjoying the perfection.

Tonight, that meant cooling off in the villa’s pool after we’d spent the scorching hot afternoon walking around Sevilla.

It was after eight in the evening, the sun was still up, and the air was still thick with the summer heat, and this water was absolutely perfect.

“Why did we even go outside during siesta?” I asked, leaning against the pool’s edge. “I’m surprised we didn’t burn to a crisp.”

Madars laughed as he swam up beside me. Resting his arm on the tiled edge, he grinned. “We haven’t burned yet.”

“Thank God for sunscreen.”

“No kidding.”

He was right, too—despite the oppressive sun, we’d managed to go all summer without so much as a burn.

I’d even tanned, though with my fair skin, that just meant I was a shade or two darker than printer paper.

Madars wasn’t quite as pasty white as I was, but being Northern European, he was still very fair-skinned.

Like me, he didn’t look tanned, per se, but when he turned his arm and exposed the pale skin on the inside of his forearm, it made his very slight tan between the lines of his tattoos look more pronounced.

Didn’t really matter to me—he was gorgeous no matter what. The hint of a tan was just a reminder of all the time we’d spent under the Spanish sun.

Or maybe I was just getting ridiculously sentimental because being around Madars had that effect on me.

And apparently I’d been thinking about it a moment too long, because Madars tilted his head and peered at me. “Something wrong?”

I shook myself and laughed. “No. No. Nothing’s wrong.” I reached for his waist beneath the water. “Just… enjoying the view.”

His smile really was the most perfect thing I’d ever seen.

And…

Oh. God. So was his kiss.

Madars wasn’t the only talented, generous man I’d ever touched, but he was the only one who could so effortlessly stop my world on a dime.

One touch of his lips, and I was laser-focused on him.

On the things he did. On the things he liked.

On the utter disbelief that the stars had aligned and put us in the same place at the same time, and that I was the man he’d chosen to kiss like that.

Fuck. How did I get so damn lucky?

After a while, he relented, and as I caught my breath, he whispered, “Have I mentioned how much you turn me on?”

I pulled him against me so our dicks rubbed together through our swim trunks. “You made that pretty clear, yes.”

He chuckled. “Surprised I can even go out in public with you.” He nipped my lower lip.

“One look at you…” He pressed hard against me, driving a moan out of me because fuck, he turned me on that much too.

And we were going to get it on right here in the pool, weren’t we?

Or in one of the deck chairs? Hell, on the grass?

No, right here in the pool, because the way he was kissing me now—God, we weren’t going anywhere any time soon. Not until we’d satisfied some of this hunger that always burned to life whenever we were touching.

The water was cool, but it was far from cold, and both of us were rock hard between our bodies. Madars dipped his fingertips beneath the waistband of my swim trunks, but then he pulled them free and growled, “Fuck it. Take them off.”

“Good idea.”

Between us, we managed to work them down and off. While we were at it, we got rid of his, too, and a moment later, they landed on the side of the pool with a wet splat.

Now there was nothing separating us, and I fucking loved the contrast of the cool water and his hot body. Rutting against each other, nothing separating our hard cocks, making out—this was absolutely perfect.

Madars went for my neck. His lips were so damn talented, and every time he kissed my throat, I thought I was going to come unraveled.

And that was before he closed his fingers around my dick and started stroking. Water made for terrible lube, so he didn’t do it fast or hard—just enough to keep my head spinning and my toes curling.

“Tell me how you want to come,” he purred against my neck. “Anything you want, baby.”

I let my head fall back, dizzy with arousal. “I want…” Fuck. How was I supposed to think?

His lips skated up the side of my neck to the underside of my jaw, and clarity came in an instant.

“Your mouth,” I blurted out. “I want… I want to come in your mouth.”

Madars groaned and bit my shoulder. Then he put his hands on my waist and hoisted me onto the edge like I weighed nothing. Before I even had my wits about me, he’d shoved my knees apart and—

“Oh, fuck,” I moaned as he licked around the head of my dick. “Madars…”

He hummed happily and continued working his magic. His lips, his tongue, his hand—he used it all to send me soaring.

The view was incredible, too. Here was the most gorgeous man I’d ever seen, his powerful body on full display in the pool while he went to town on my cock.

And I loved how much he clearly enjoyed giving head.

He moaned like it was the best thing ever, and from the way his shoulder moved, he was giving himself some attention beneath the water.

That was hot—a man who was so turned on by sucking dick that he had to touch himself.

I could relate, because I was exactly the same way.

“Jesus, Madars,” I whispered, sliding my hand over his wet hair. “Oh, that’s so good. Fucking hell.”

He groaned from low in his throat, and he did something with his tongue—some kind of magic that turned the whole world to sparks—and I wasn’t even ashamed that the people in neighboring villas probably heard me cry out with pleasure.

Madars must’ve taken that to mean I was close, because he doubled his efforts, and I was completely at his mercy.

As he hauled me toward the precipice, I couldn’t even form the words to warn him I was about to come, but I was pretty sure he could tell from my breathless moans and my fingers twitching on his shoulder as I tried to hold on to something for dear life.

Somehow, he brought me right to the edge and held me there, kept me there, let me teeter without sending me over, driving me halfway out of my mind before he finally—

“Oh fuck!” I cried even louder this time, and I almost fell back onto the pavement as I came in his eager mouth. I thought my damn soul left my body for a second or two, and I fucking loved it. “Holy shit, Madars…”

He lifted his head and grinned up at me. “You’re so hot when you come.”

I didn’t even know what to say. I wasn’t even sure my soul had re-seated itself fully yet, because goddamn.

“Come here,” he murmured, and tugged my hips toward him.

With his help, I slid back into the water, yelping at the coolness after the sun had been beating on my back.

Then Madars had me pressed up against the edge again, kissing me deep and hard, and I was once again intoxicated by his body heat while we were surrounded by cool water.

As my head cleared—well, as much as it ever did when I was wrapped up in Madars’ kiss—I realized his thick hard-on was still pressed against me. Ooh, he hadn’t come yet. Time to do something about that.

“You made me come,” I whispered. “Now it’s my turn.”

“Not yet.” He grinned. “I’m going to give you some time to recover, and then I’m going to come in your ass.”

I shivered, and my voice came out ragged as I murmured, “Fuuuck.”

His grin broadened. “You like that idea?”

“It involves you fucking me. Of course I like it.”

He laughed softly. “Figured.”

“I can still get you off first.” I rubbed my hip against his hard cock. “I don’t want to neglect you.”

“You’re not.” He dipped his head to kiss my neck again, and I gasped because my skin was still hypersensitive after my orgasm.

“You’re not neglecting me at all. I want to come in you.

” He wrapped his arms around me and pulled me flush against him.

“And then when I get hard again, I want to come in you a second time.”

“Fucking hell,” I breathed. It would be a genuine miracle if I could still walk after this summer, but I didn’t care.

I loved the sex we had. I loved that he couldn’t get enough of topping me.

He enjoyed bottoming too, but topping was definitely his preference, and any chance we had, we were screwing.

Madars broke the kiss and pressed his forehead to mine. For a second, I thought he might be shivering from the cold, but then I realized he was just trembling.

“You okay?” I asked.

“Yeah. I’m good.” He kissed me again, then opened up enough space between us to look in my eyes. Trailing his fingers down his cheek, he whispered, “I knew this was going to be amazing. Having you here. Being together all the time. I just didn’t think…” He trailed off.

I swallowed. “I did too. But it’s been so much better than I even imagined. And that’s saying something.”

“Yeah?” There was a hint of shyness in that little smile. Shyness and… was that hopefulness?

Nodding, I smoothed his wet hair. “When I reached out to you in Prague, I just thought it would be fun to reconnect. When I agreed to come to Spain, I thought… I don’t even know what I thought this would be like.

But it’s…” I chewed my lip, not quite sure how to articulate it.

Finally, I settled on, “Whatever I expected, it’s been blown out of the water by reality. ”

Madars laughed softly, and there was a touch of relief in his voice. “So it’s not just me?”

“No. It’s absolutely not just you.”

“Good. I was afraid this was one-sided and—”

“It’s not.” I drew him in, and when our lips were nearly touching, I murmured, “It’s definitely not just you.” Then I kissed him, and I would never stop reveling in the way his whole body seemed to melt against me. How he seemed to lose himself in my kiss the same way I lost myself in his.

God, he was just perfect for me. Everything about this—about him, about us—was so damn perfect, it almost brought me to tears.

I was the one to break away this time. “Can I confess something?”

He met my gaze, a hint of alarm in his eyes. “Okay?”

I slid my hand up into his wet hair. “Since January, a day hasn’t gone by that I haven’t been so damn glad I saw your name and reached out to you in Prague.”

He smiled, running his palm up my side as he leaned in close again. “Me too. Every day.” His lips brushed mine. “Sometimes I still can’t believe you’re here.”

“Neither can I.” I paused. “But then I try to sit down after a night in bed with you—”

He laughed. “Oh come on. I don’t fuck you that hard.” With a wicked glint in his eyes, he added, “I mean, I could if you wanted me to…”

“Ooh, that sounds like fun. As long as we’re not skating the next day.”

“Perfect,” he breathed, and then he had my mouth again.

I thought we might get each other all spun up for a second round, and maybe we still would, but it was quickly clear that wasn’t what this kiss was all about.

Despite the momentary banter, the way he kissed me was so sweet and tender, it melted my spine.

Wrapping my arms around his neck, I opened to his gentle exploration, and—Jesus.

How had there ever been a time in my life when a man didn’t kiss me like this?

When this man didn’t kiss me like this?

How do I go back to my normal life after a summer with you?

Evidently we were on the same page, because he whispered, “Would it be too much if I said I wished this would never end?”

“The vacation in Spain?” I asked. “Or… this?”

Madars swallowed. “I mean, both. But…” He trailed wet fingertips down my cheek. “Mostly this.”

My heart fluttered. “It… No, it’s not too much.” I hesitated, then softly added, “I’m… we’re on the same page. I don’t want it to end either.”

“You don’t?”

Shaking my head, I said, “No. Definitely not.”

He searched my eyes. Then he kissed me again. When his lips left mine, it was just long enough for him to whisper, “I love you, Connor.”

Oh. Fuck. I very nearly did melt this time, both from his words and from the sweetest kiss ever. From the sweetest man ever. Holy shit—Madars loved me? This was… this was real, wasn’t it? Not just a summer fling after months of texting?

He loved me. This was real. And oh my God, it was perfect.

I cupped his cheek as I broke the kiss, and my voice trembled as I panted, “I love you, too.”

His smile in that moment reminded me so much of the boy who’d been the center of my world a lifetime ago. And suddenly everything in that world made sense.

Of course we found each other again.

Of course we ended up here.

Of course we fell in love.

How could this have gone any other way?

He stroked my wet hair. “I don’t know how to do this. When we’re on opposite sides of the world for half the year. But… I want to.”

“Me too. We’ll figure it out.”

“We will.” His expression turned playful. “Maybe after we go inside and I rock your world again, hmm?”

I laughed, dizzy with… fuck, with everything.

“Sounds like a perfect plan. Let’s go.”
