Chapter 16
Similar to the gatherings of the past, Sahara and I sit on the front porch while the guys play basketball by the garage. However, the group of five guys join us on the porch to eat lunch. There is still a lot of teasing, laughter, and sexual undertones between the group.
After we are through eating, the guys gather up the trash and disappear for a bit. Sahara and I are just chatting when she looks behind me. “Oh no. Here we go again!”
I turn to find the guys walking up to us, missing shirts, hands behind them, and evil grins on their faces.
Wyatt and Gunner amble over next to Sahara while Tray and Slade stop beside my chair and Dalton stands in front of the group. “Well, Goldielocks. Did you every decide if we are the wolves or the bears?”
“Talk about déjà vu. I swear if you guys hit us with balloons of ice water, we will tear up those marriage licenses.” I reply, not taking my eyes off Dalton.
“Not a chance, baby girl. We learned our lesson last year.” Dalton says, bringing his arms around front to show he is holding two small plates with the last slices of our wedding cakes.
Gunner and Tray gift us with larger plates containing a variety of desserts.
Then Slade and Wyatt offer us their gifts, large bouquets of flowers from this morning.
We share the food with the guys and have an enjoyable afternoon.
Gunner finally decides that it is time for the newlyweds to leave.
Gunner and Dalton go upstairs to gather our clothes.
Tray goes to let the moms’ know that we are getting ready to sneak away.
Sahara and I get hugs and kisses from Wyatt, Slade, and Tray, followed by lots more hugs and kisses from the parents’.
As Gunner is dragging Sahara off to his truck, Dalton promises to text Tray in a day or two to come and ‘work on the sunroom’ with us.
