Chapter Twelve Trill #3
From the short amount of time that I have been around Grit and his ol’ lady, I admire what they have.
That’s some shit that I want for myself one day.
Someone that you don’t have to say a word to, but they can read your body language.
They know you just that well. A woman who sees me for me.
Beyond the name the streets made for me.
Beyond the money and all the flashy shit.
I want to be a provider in a way that I never saw my mom have.
I want to be the man to figure everything out causing her to worry less.
I’m willing to take that on with pride. I want to be in love before I grow old.
I’d rather grow old with the person that I love.
Unlike Gio, I don’t want to die alone. I want someone to share this shit with. Purity is more than worthy.
“All done Mr. Laurent”, the woman said to me.
Her voice bringing me back to reality. She got my measurements down and was off to begin making my suits.
I nodded my head in approval. Before she left, she pointed me in the direction of suits that were my size.
There was personal shopper there to help me with it all.
The more I examined the different suits, the color schemes, and the ties, I became intrigued. This shit may not be so bad after all.
If I was going to do this shit, then I know I have to embrace all aspects of it.
I took my time examining the different pieces that the shopper showed me.
I had to put my own Trill spin on shit. If I’m going to be a hood nigga in a suit, I’m going to make the shit look like me.
I’m talking button down with first few buttons undone. Real GQ shit.
“The reason I called for this tailoring is because there’s a business meeting setup for tomorrow.”
“You need us to roll with you or some”, Savage asked.
I took a sip of my liquor as I waited for him to respond. He examined his cigar as if he could see the ingredients of the motherfucker or some. He began to take one long pull before he spoke.
“Nah. You and Trill are going. Before we leave here today, y’all will have some nice shit to put on.
Y’all are the face of the company now. I’m nothing more than a liaison if need be.
Your father left this for both of you. Now it’s time for y’all to run this shit with an iron fist. This ain’t no street shit.
All that beefing shit got to cease. If y’all don’t show up as a united front how can y’all expect a stranger to respect what the fuck y’all on? ”
I understood exactly what the fuck Grit was saying.
A lot of shit is easier said than done though.
I know I can’t kill this nigga now, because neither of us would get shit.
I couldn’t let this shit go down the drain because of the animosity I felt in my heart for this nigga.
I listened on as Grit continued to give his uncle speech about us making amends.
I was hearing him, but my mind was on some other shit.
I downed the last of my liquor. The effects of the liquor had me in a zone.
The blunt that rested behind my ear made its way to my mouth.
I know that we’re not supposed to smoke weed in this bitch but fuck it.
I had to hit it one good time before I put it out in the ash tray.
Mazi looked at me like I was crazy as fuck.
I removed my gun from my waistline and placed it on the table, next to the ashtray. I rose from where I was sitting and walked in the direction that Savage and Ro were sitting. Nobody knew what the fuck I had on my mind. Instead, they watched on and said nothing.
When I made it in front of Savage, I stared that nigga dead in the eyes.
I drew my fists back as far as I could and sent a blow to that niggas abdomen.
He wasted no time getting on my ass. We were both throwing blows to one another bodies.
as soon as everyone realized what was going on they were on alert.
Mazi reached for his gun at the same time as Ro. Before I knew it Grit had to Glocks aimed at both of them.
“I already lost my fucking brother. I be damned if either of my nephews get dropped on my dime! Let them fight this shit out and everyone can make their way home tonight.”
Mazi had a look on his face like he wasn’t with that shit.
Against his better judgement, he put his piece back up.
Ro did the same. It was clear that they respected Grit just that much.
I was happy that they obliged. After all of the penned-up beef between us; in my eyes I found this the best way to release this shit.
We went toe to toe for about ten minutes before we grew tired.
The one thing I respected about the whole ordeal was that there were no face shots.
If I wanted to, I would’ve started the fight off by hitting that nigga dead in his shit.
I didn’t want to hurt his face, being that we have this meeting and all.
I just wanted to let his ass know that I could hurt him if I wanted to.
Due to me not being a bitch ass nigga, I can admit, the nigga can hold his own.
We both was on some tough shit. So many times, street niggas are used to pulling their piece out and letting it do the talking for them.
Motherfuckers stopped fighting a long time ago.
Truth be told, I been known my hands were lethal.
I now know that my brothers are the same.
In the instance that a gun isn’t in reach, I’m confident that we can wreck shit with our hands alone.
We stopped on our own. It didn’t take anyone to break the shit up. We stood there for a minute just looking at one another in the eyes, like men. I decided to be the one to break the ice.
“Just had to remind your ass of who’s the oldest nigga.”
“Damn nigga, shooting my ass in the shoulder wasn’t enough?”
“Shit, I can’t tell that the motherfucker is hurt. Your ass still has a mean ass left hook.”
He stared in my face for a while. Seconds passed by and his cheeks began to rise. His lips formed a smile. He walked up on me and lifted his hands. I slapped mine against his. In a natural kind of way, we embraced one another in a brotherly manner.
“I never thought I would see the fuckin day”, Mazi said.
He wasn’t disappointed or no shit like that. Just shocked. The ongoing beef between SSC and ACE was some like the bloods and the crips. The shit was real. Not no pretend shit.
Grit stood back like a proud uncle. This all he ever wanted for us. I’m sure that’s what our pops would want to. Though he didn’t do a lot of shit right while he was alive. All we can do now is try to live up to the name and empire that he left for us.
We sat down and poured up some more alcohol. Providing Grit our undivided attention as he gave us the rundown on the meeting that we will be attending tomorrow.
