Chapter 41

"No way. You two are absolutely not sharing a room." Liana stated.

"Honey, they're mates." Garmon reasoned.

"They're just kids!" She argued. "They haven't even had their mating ceremony yet."

"Mom, I'm not a kid. I'm already eighteen." Dominic interjected.

"He's going to take over the pack in just a few years. He's old enough to live with his mate." Garmon tried to convince her.

I stand awkwardly, holding a box of my things as they argue over what room I will move into. I liked the idea of being close to Dominic, but I would be okay if I stayed in a different room. I would be fine just as long as I was under the same roof as him.

"I am Alpha, and my decision is that she stays with Dominic." Garmon said with finality.

Liana got mad and stormed off in the direction of her room. It was going to be weird sharing a house with them. Hopefully Dominic and I will eventually get our own place. We wouldn't have much privacy here with his parents in the same house as us.

Garmon helped us bring my things into Dominic's room. By the time we were done, there were boxes all over the floor, and clothes piled on the bed, most of them his. The place was a mess and it was overwhelming. I sat down and covered my face with my hands.

"Hey. Look at me." Dominic squatted in front of me.

I removed my hands and looked him in the eyes.

They were glowing gold again, and I couldn't help but stare.

They pierced my soul, and I soon forgot why I was overwhelmed.

I didn't realize how much I liked gold until I saw his eyes.

I grabbed his face and kissed him. He froze in shock at my behavior, but soon he melted into the kiss.

"You seem to be feeling better." He smirked.

"Listen, I have a problem." I changed the topic.

"A problem?" He responded.

"This place is a mess. You're a slop."

"A slop?"

"You're a grown man. I will not be cleaning up after your messes. If we are going to live together, you're going to keep this room clean." I stated.

"Okay. Okay. I'll clean up." He started to put up the clothes he had laid out on his bed.

I walked to the closet with him, and noticed there was no room inside for my things. I sighed, which got his attention.

"It looks like things will be a little cramped in here. But, we can make things work. I can make room." He tried to reassure me.

"When will we get our own place?" I asked the question burning in the back of my head.

"I don't know. Maybe when I take over the pack?"

"There is no way we could get a place sooner?" I pressed.

"Why? Is this not good enough for you?" He seemed hurt.

"It's just awkward that we'll be living together with your parents."

"How is it awkward? People live together with their parents all the time. Wolves tend to stick together." He reasoned.

"I guess I'll just have to get used to it."

"I promise it will be better than you think. My mom will get over it soon and then we will all be content." He grabbed my hands.

"I hope so."
