Chapter 17

Devon

The last couple of weeks have been amazing.

I spend my time with Caydence and deal with school and shit.

Now it’s Thanksgiving, and I’m actually going to introduce Caydence to my father.

I’ve never brought a girl home. At least not to meet the family.

To fuck? Yeah, I’ve done that, and they all knew about it before I got my own place, but never to meet anyone.

I took her shopping and got her a nice dress to wear, knowing my dad is going to go all out for this. He always does. He isn’t around much, but when he is, he likes to flash his money around for everyone to see, including family.

“Are you sure I look okay?” she asks as we head for his house.

“You look sexy as fuck, and I can’t wait to strip you out of it. In fact, I might fuck you in the upstairs bathroom for dessert,” I tell her. Her cheeks turn pink before she looks out the window.

“I’m nervous.”

“Why?”

“I’m meeting your dad. I’ve never met anyone’s family before, Devon.”

“He’ll love you. He’s a lot like me,” I tell her. Now she looks over, and I can see the questions in her eyes. Does he kill people as I do? I should give her a response, but I don’t because what my dad does in his own time is his business, just like what I do is mine.

I focus on the road until we pull into the long driveway, and she speaks again.

“Maybe this is a bad idea.”

“Afraid he’ll slit your throat?” I laugh. She looks over, nervously. “It’s a joke, baby. Calm down.”

“That isn’t funny,” she snaps at me.

“I know. I’m sorry. Just relax. It’s going to be fine,” I reassure her.

She nods her head and watches out the window as we approach the house.

I pull around the small semi-circle out the front, and one of his men opens my door.

I climb out and walk around to open her door and help her out.

She stands and smooths out her dress before taking my extended hand in hers.

“This isn’t what I’m used to,” she whispers.

“Get used to it. This is what you’re going to get with me,” I tell her. I know she isn’t used to having money or being around wealthy people, but that’s exactly what I am, and she needs to understand that. This is going to be her life, too.

We walk up the stairs, and the front door opens. My dad stands there with a blonde on his arm, smiling as we come inside. He releases the woman and comes toward me, pulling me into a hug. When he steps back, he looks to Caydence.

“You brought someone,” he says, eyeing her up and down. I know he likes what he sees, but she’s off limits to him.

“This is my girlfriend, Caydence. Caydence, this is my dad, Bill.” He offers his hand, she reaches out to take it, a little shaken when he brings it to his lips and presses a kiss to it. She glances at me as I stare at him.

“It’s a pleasure to meet you. Devon didn’t mention he was bringing anyone, but I’m glad that you’re here.” Caydence smiles, but I can tell that she’s a little uneasy about the whole thing.

My dad introduces us to his little plaything, and then we head inside to greet the rest of my family. Mostly aunts, uncles, and cousins. A few are my dad’s business partners, but I know them all.

We grab some drinks and mingle until dinner is ready.

“I’d like to thank you all for coming tonight.

The holidays can get the best of us at times, but not when we’re surrounded by love.

We don’t see each other enough throughout the year, and that’s a shame.

We all have lives and things we must do, but I’m thankful for having you all here tonight.

Enjoy.” He raises his glass in a toast. We all raise our glasses before we begin to eat.

I notice Caydence only picking at her food and lean over to her.

“You don’t like it?”

“It’s great.”

“But you aren’t eating,” I add.

“I am.”

“Don’t lie to me, Caydence. Do you need a break?” I ask her. She shakes her head, and I go back to my meal, but this time I rest my hand on her thigh under the table. Slowly, I inch her dress up her legs until I can get to what I want. I pinch the inside of her thigh so she spreads her legs for me.

I keep eating with my free hand as she does the same. I slide my hand under her panties and find her pussy before dipping a finger inside. I see Caydence lick her lips and shift slightly in her seat. I want her to fucking squirm for me.

People are talking to me, and join the conversation as I finger her under the table. No one pays attention to what I’m doing, and they won’t.

I keep talking, laughing with everyone as I slide my finger over her clit. She coughs and grabs her glass, taking a drink before I turn my attention to her. I lean in closely to her ear.

“Such a good fucking girl, aren’t you? You ready to come for me?

Are you close?” I ask her, running my tongue along the shell of her ear.

I hear her gasp and keep my finger moving.

“Go ahead. Come for me right here in front of everyone like a good little girl,” I tell her.

I sit back in my seat and play with her until her body tenses.

No one is looking at her as her breathing starts to tremble.

She bites into her bottom lip, and I know she’s about to fucking come. I keep going until she does.

Then I slip my fingers back inside her pussy and find her completely soaked for me. I nearly growl as I pull my hand free and rest it on her bare knee.

The conversation keeps going on around us as I lean back in.

“You have no idea how hard I am right now,” I tell her. She moves her hand to reach for my cock under the table, but I don’t let her. “Nice try, baby.” I move her hand back to her lap and pull mine from under the table.

“So, Devon. How’s work been?” My dad asks.

“It’s been running smoothly. I’ve managed to get through all of your meetings since you’ve been gone.”

“I heard you hired someone to help out at night,” he adds, his eyes moving to Caydence.

“I did. She gets a lot of things done for me.”

“That’s good. I’m glad.”

“How was your trip?” I ask, changing the subject because where Caydence is concerned, it’s none of his business. He can sense what I’m doing and doesn’t push it further. He begins to talk about his trip and how things went while I drink.

By the time he’s done and on to someone else, I’m bored. I excuse myself from the table and grab Caydence, pulling her along with me. I grab us two new drinks as we walk into another room of the house.

Caydence walks away from me and looks at some of the expensive sculptures my dad has. She looks to be taking them all in when I walk up behind her. I rest my hand on her waist, and she sighs, leaning into my touch.

“It’s a lot to take in,” I tell her. She nods her head before leaning back against my chest.

“I’ve never had things like this,” she admits to something I already know.

“You will. When you live with me,” I tell her. She laughs as if that’s some kind of joke, but it isn’t. I plan on moving her in with me sooner rather than later; she just doesn’t know that part yet.

“What was it like? Growing up with all this?” she asks.

“For the most part, I got anything I wanted. Once I got older, I started working more for my dad. He gave me a few businesses, and I made them better. Now they’re mine.”

“It must be nice not having to worry about anything.” I move to spin her to face me, setting my drink to the side and grabbing her face in my hands.

“You have nothing to worry about. I’ve got you.”

“That’s your things, Devon. Not mine.”

“You heard the old saying what’s mine is yours. That applies to you, too.”

“That makes no sense. That’s what they say when you’re married,” she laughs slightly. The thought of forcing her to marry me has crossed my mind more than once. She doesn’t know that yet either.

“You don’t have to be married to take care of someone. All I want to do is take care of you.” She smiles, and it takes my fucking breath away. She’s so damn perfect that I don’t see how anyone could have hurt her before me.

“I think this is all a little much too quickly.” I shrug. I don’t give a shit what she thinks. This is what I’m doing, and she’ll just have to get on board with it.

“Doesn’t matter. Get used to it,” I tell her.

“You can’t just do that for everything you know?”

“Do what?”

“Tell me how it’s going to be and expect me to fall in line.” If only it were that easy.

“I don’t expect you to fall in line, Caydence. I expect you to accept what is,” I explain to her.

“Which is what?”

“The fact is, you’re mine now. There is no going back from this.”

“Devon-” she begins, but I cut her off.

“This is what I want, and I know deep down, you want it too. You’re scared and rightfully so after what I’ve done, but that changes nothing.”

“What is it you’ve done?” I hear my dad’s voice behind us. I press a quick kiss to her lips before turning to face him, wrapping my arm around her waist.

“Questionable things,” I answer. He nods his head, a slight smile crossing his face.

“We all do questionable things when we care about someone. I was no different with your mother,” he says.

“I wouldn’t remember.”

“No, you wouldn’t. You were so young,” he adds when Caydence speaks.

“What happened to her?”

“Cancer. Snuck up on us all quickly. There was no time to find specialists or to save her.”

“I’m so sorry,” she says softly.

“It was a long time ago, but thank you. Devon never really got to know his mom.”

“That’s sad.” Knowing damn good and well that she never knew hers, or her father, for that matter.

From what I can find out, those pieces of shit gave her away when she was only six months old.

They were too drugged up to care for her, often leaving her in soiled diapers and alone while they were out doing what they did.

Anger claws at my insides, and I try to swallow it down so I don’t lose myself right now. If I could find them, I would kill them for the life they left her to.

“What about you? Where are your parents?” he asks her. I can feel her tense beside me.

“We’re not talking about that right now,” I inform him. He nods his head as if to understand before changing the subject.

A few more people begin to gather in the room, and the conversation changes topics easily. I feel Caydence relax back into me, and I keep her tucked into my side the rest of the night.
